Springvale Roxy set the track alight on Wednesday with a performance that showed that she was back to her best form. Coming out of box four over the 400m trip, she came out well, but had to work hard to get to the lead. Down the back straight, she took over in front and was travelling sweetly. Striding to a clear lead around the home turn, she stormed away to win by three lengths in a flying 22.5 which would have pleased her trainer Michael Giniotis.

Hayley Chapman has made a great start to her training journey and she landed another victory with one of the newer dogs to her kennel, Bull Catcher. From a wide box eight draw in the last of the day, Bull Catcher came out quickly from the 400m start, to take a handy lead into the back straight. The brindle dog travelled beautifully the entire way round, before winning by a big six lengths, in a handy very tidy 22.87.

Tim Richards continued his recent success at Gawler with another training double on Friday. Coorong Cam was the first as he took out the Gawler Breeders Final over the 531m trip, with a brilliant display from box eight. Normally better drawn on the inside, the wide draw was of some concern, however a quick beginning saw him glide over to an early lead. He was never in any danger throughout the race, holding a comfortable margin the entire way around, winning in a fast 30.65, ahead of Victa Monty who stormed home into second.

The marvel that is He’s All Purpose later landed win 35 from his outstanding career, as he proved way too good for his mixed 4/5 field over the 531m distance. He was led early, but got clear running in second, before storming over the top late in 30.85.

Oakvale Charger was a fitting maiden winner for owners Nathan and Kerry Wilson, with the black dog putting together a terrific performance from box eight over the 400m trip. Following a handy debut performance, he came out well enough from the wide draw, landing second in the run with plenty of clear air. He was still grinding away heading into the home turn, before showing his strength late and powering over the top, to win in a sharp 22.95.

The talented Velocity Tahnie put together a comprehensive victory from box one over the short trip, to take out the fast class event of the night, providing trainer Nicole Price with a double. A fast start saw her lead with an 8.60 first split and she was always going to take plenty of beating out in front. After being challenged mid-race, she responded and kicked away late before winning by four lengths in a best of the night 22.54.

It was great to see the Paula Hearnden trained Long Gully Shack land another victory, with the fawn dog always showing a lot of ability but letting himself down with poor box manners. From box three over the 400m trip, he came out slowly again and was in a bit of traffic back in the field. Down the back, he charged through on the rail and loomed as a big threat to the leader. In the home straight, he powered through to the lead, before going on to win in a fast 22.79.
