Greyhound racing was at Gawler on Thursday afternoon due to a time slot swap with Angle Park. We have seen a lot of quick times produced at the Gawler track since track maintenance was performed at the venue a few weeks ago. The twelve races on Thursday produced some very quick times.

The quickest time of the day went to Classy Chaos who ran a sizzling 22.38 over 400 meters. The other remarkable thing about her run was that she did it from box eight. The most remarkable thing about her run though was it was only marginally quicker than her previous personal best of 22.39 set a few weeks back. The track record for the 400 meter boxes was set back in 2014 by Avid Tyson who ran 22.27 which means Classy Chaos was roughly a length and a half off the track record. Classy Chaos also ran a blistering first split of 8.47. She is definitely a greyhound to follow at the moment. Other highlights from Thursday included Ray Murray scoring a double with Air Cruiser running 22.86 and Air Grace running 23.04. Kevin Bewley also scored a double with Compton Casey running a blistering 22.63 and Missile Edition running 22.85.

We also saw greyhound racing at Gawler on Wednesday afternoon. Multiple trainers scored doubles during the twelve race card on Wednesday. Matthew Payne made the long trip and took out race one with Aston Kyoto running 23.16. He would strike again later on in the day with Aston Attack winning and running a time of 22.83. Steve Coates scored a race to race double in races two and three. His first winner was his greyhound Fresh Jays breaking his maiden running a respectable 23.26. Whiskey Soda would also win for Steve running a time of 30.63 over the longer 531 meter distance. Langhorne Creek trainer Yvonne King would score the last double for the day in races ten and twelve. Allinga Chloe would pass the post first in race ten when she led all of the way to run a time of 22.68. The in form Allinga Ollie would also lead all of the way in race twelve to run a solid time of 22.66 to bring up the double Yvonne.
