Classy Chaos' Perfect Start
Classy Chaos is a name that you will be hearing a lot more in the future. The December ‘19 born, black bitch has started her career in outstanding fashion, making it 3 wins from as many starts. The decision to send first time producer, Elite Chaos, to the local stud dog, Worm Burner was a decision made by her owner, Craig Boston in an attempt to put some strength into the pups. So far from the litter of 7, Classy Chaos is clearly the best in the eyes of trainer Ben Rawlings, “She is definitely above the rest. The two boys will be alright but they are just taking a bit longer, one has had some pad issues and the other has bad box manners.”
Classy Chaos or ‘Eve’ as she is known around home, has always shown above average ability from her early trials, “She trialled 23.02 at her second ever 400 at Gawler so we knew she was alright early days.” Ben decided to start her off at the straight track at Murray Bridge, in what proved a successful exercise with ‘Eve’ beating a promising dog in quick time, which was almost identical to the time that Ransom’s Pride ran on the morning. “She was showing the ability in the trials so went to the straight track for some cleaner racing, and we were able to back her as well.” After winning the maiden final in equally impressive fashion as the heat, Ben took her to Angle Park on Monday night, to take on a new beast in the form of the 342m start. “She trialled 19.55, so I thought she was a moral going into the race, but after about 4 strides that changed!” For the first time in her short career, she had found herself behind dogs and needing to come from behind. “Every trial we’ve given her she’s gone straight to the front, so it was the first time she’s seen a dog come across her and I thought she dealt with it really well.” ‘Eve’ was able to show some real smarts and picked up the leader, winning in a quick 19.58, with only Rock It Barcia going faster (19.55) on the night. “It (Rock It Barcia) had a clear run and the dog is flying, whereas we’ve (Classy Chaos) had to check off heels early, so I thought there was plenty of merit in the run.”
Ben is looking to run her in the Oaks heats next week, but that is all dependent on a trial this Sunday. “I'm on the fence as to whether she will get 500, with the way the track is playing so far at Angle Park (front runner), it looks like it might suit. The breed has always been high speed and only just gets it (500m). She is having a full 500 on Sunday, with the thought that if she doesn’t completely walk home then we will put her in the Oaks heats.”
She is definitely a bitch with plenty of promise and excitement.
