Returning to Gawler after representing South Australia at the National Straight Track Championship in Victoria, Cash On Delivery found itself back on the winners list with a best of the day performance.

Jumping from box eight, the Ashlee Griffiths-trained Cash On Delivery produced an excellent first split of 8.52, to find the early lead and was never troubled in front pulling away to win by four lengths in a quick time of 22.44.

The win was the 20th career victory from just 36 starts for Cash On Delivery with the star short-course dog continuing to impress on the Gawler track with its sights set on breaking the track record over the 400m trip.

While Cash On Delivery was the start performer on Friday’s card, honors were shared with 12 different trainers claiming winners on the 12-race program.

Magic Poppet  was one greyhound who had a nice win on Friday making it three consecutive wins for trainer Kerry Stagg with a seven-length win.

Despite drawing box four in a mixed grade 4/5 field, Magic Poppet produced an excellent first split with its 8.57 start having it in front of the field and enjoying clear running down the back straight.

With clear air and plenty of space, Magic Poppet pulled away winning by seven lengths and stopping the clock in 22.51 which was its best time at the Gawler track.

In the final race on the card, Doonan produced an excellent win for trainer Ben Rawlings over the 530m journey.   Having been luckless over its past few starts since arriving from New South Wales, Doonan was able to breakthrough for its first SA win in its sixth start in the state.

Jumping from box two,  Doonan was able to  find the front after a bunch run to the first turn and got clear running down the back and despite Sutton Ebony closing in late, Doonan was able to hang on and win by two lengths in 30.76.

On Wednesday, trainer Don Turner continued his excellent recent run of form picking up a double in the first two races on the 12-race card.

The first winner was Under Siege who came over the top to win from box two in the distance race on the card over the 643m trip. Settling third in the small field, Under Siege was well positioned throughout the race before storming home late out wide, running over the top of a tiring Harry to win by a length in 37.90.

Back To Work completed the double in the next race for Turner, breaking its maiden in its fourth career start over the 400m journey.  Making the most of the inside draw from box one, Back To Work found the early and avoid trouble behind holding a comfortable margin and winning by two lengths in 23.50.
