Cancellation of Meetings due to Heat
CANCELLATION OF MEETINGS DUE TO EXTREME HEAT
GRSA has been monitoring the long-range forecast for this coming week and the extreme temperatures for a run of days in a number of key racing regions. As a result, GRSA has taken the proactive approach in cancelling the following meetings:
With the predicted forecast the Port Augusta race meeting on Saturday 27 January, 2018, being 46°C, GRSA has cancelled this race meeting. This meeting will be re-programmed the following week to be run on Saturday 3rd February, 2018.
With the predicted forecast for the Gawler race meeting Sunday 28 January, 2018, sitting at 44°C, GRSA has cancelled this race meeting. The decision to cancel this meeting has been made early to allow participants to plan their racing programme and potentially nominate elsewhere, rather than risk the meeting be called off later in the week.
All other venues will be monitored constantly in regards to changes to forecasts.
