Appointment of ICG
With thanks to Bob May, Gavin Harris and their Member Club colleagues for their recent recruiting activity, I would like to confirm and welcome the new ICG panel which will take immediate effect, including as to their involvement in the upcoming ICG meeting on Friday December 17 from 10am.
The ICG plays a key role in the introduction of strategies (or management of risks) for the betterment of the industry as a whole. The panel comprises stakeholders across a wide range of regions and participation categories with the aim that the panel discussion is balanced and broadly informed. That said, this body functions most effectively when its members are being guided in their views by what is best for industry overall, rather than ‘wearing hats’. I’m proud to say that our panel has performed constructively and effectively for some time now, and has been one of the internal strengths that has continued to advance South Australia’s standing within the national framework and create a viable opportunity for a next generation of trainers, breeders and owners.
It would be remiss of me, at this point, not to recognise the contribution that Judy Hurley has made to this panel over a sustained period of time. She has resigned from the panel due to health reasons, but her positive impact upon the culture of this group will remain as her legacy. I would like to wish you all the best for a full recovery from your recent surgery.
