GRSA ANIMAL WELFARE ALERT - ILLNESS IN GREYHOUNDS
Greyhound Racing SA (GRSA) is notifying participants of a recent outbreak interstate of illness amongst the greyhound population.
Whilst GRSA is not currently aware of any cases in this state, participants are reminded about the need to closely monitor the health of greyhounds in their care.
Trainers are advised to monitor their greyhounds for the following symptoms of illness:
• Vomiting;
• Diarrhea;
• Elevated temperature;
• Lethargy
Participants who suspect a greyhound of displaying these symptoms should isolate the greyhound, disinfect their kennels and contact their veterinarian for advice. Stewards should also be notified of any greyhounds displaying these symptoms.
