Angle Road / South Road Intersection Closure

Racing News

Last week traffic on South Road between Grand Junction Road and Kateena Street was moved to the newly constructed carriageway on the eastern side of the road. This has enabled construction crews to start constructing the new carriageway on the western side of South Road. While the majority of this work is away from traffic, there is a small section which will require a change to traffic flow in the area from Thursday night to Sunday night (including during the day on Friday). From 7.30pm on Thursday 23 May, Angle Road will be closed at South Road. It will remain closed until Sunday night when it will reopen with new asphalt. During this work there will be no access from South Road to Angle Road or from Angle Road to South Road.

The bus stop on Angle Road (28a) and the bus stops on Cardigan Street (27a and 27b) will be relocated on Friday to Trafford Street (close to the retirement village). The 250 bus service will not pass by bus stops 28 and 29 on Grand Junction Road and a temporary bus stop will be set up near the Shell Service Station for passengers to join this service. It is suggested that motorist use Days Road and Cowan Street to access Angle Road.
