Angle Park Today Cancelled due to lure cable issue
Please be advised that due to lure system issues, the meeting set down for Angle Park today (Wednesday 22nd August) has been cancelled.
At the race meeting on Monday 20th August, damage was caused to the main cable operating the Angle Park lure system. Throughout yesterday, the GRSA maintenance team removed the damaged cable, placed the reserve cable on the system, then checked the remaining components of the system in preparation for last nights trial session. Unfortunately during last nights trial session the cable was again irreparably damaged by operation of the lure system.
GRSA has no alternative but to cancel today’s race meeting whilst a new cable is spliced onto the system. This will also allow sufficient time for the maintenance team to check over the system to find the cause of the failures and to rectify where necessary.
The additional trial session scheduled for the morning of Thursday 23rd August has been cancelled. The next race meeting at Angle Park tomorrow night (Thursday 23rd August) will continue as programmed at this stage unless further issues are discovered in testing.
