Angle Park Thursday Night Preview
TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
Interesting night of racing and most of the events are fairly even so that makes it a terrific night for the punters as there should a couple of handy dividends for trifecta punters.
Race 1 and there is plenty of speed out wide in Stew’s Mistake and Ritza Ben. Both will be carving across and they are definitely in the mix. I have gone with the Todd Kelly trained chaser in Fair Change down in box 2. She can kick up and run down the early leaders. Add in Koubek who will be charging home at eachway odds. Box Up 2-6-7-8.
Race 2 and the inform sprinter is Sarah The Weapon. She has won her past 2 and led throughout on both occasions. Dyna Wally is hit and miss but is more than capable when on song. Add in Victa Nicole who struggled here last start. Box Up 1-2-3-4.
The third and Cosmic Way resumed last week and didn’t let his supporters down when he charged home late to win. He will only improve and is drawn for a bold showing here. There is pace from the 4 and the 8 so Box Up 1-3-4-8.
Race 4 and this appears a two dog race but both are drawn poorly, Dyna Erwin (4) and Stonebridge (5). Both are more than capable when on song and will be hard to beat. Box Up 2-4-5-7.
The 600m event of the night is race 5 and Token Mclaren will start the favourite, drawn in box 4 he has good form over the sprint of late but he can be a little tardy early. I have tipped Betsy Allen out in box 7 and am hoping that she can carve across early and take up the lead and pinch this. Box Up 1-3-4-7.
Race 6 and it doesn’t get any easier here as this is a good event for trifecta punters as this is a very open affair. Box Up 2-4-7-8.
Onto the 7th and the favourite should be Modest Ruler out in box 8. He failed to beat a runner home here last start but box 8 will be a big help. Dyna Hakon has drawn well and gets the nod for mine along with Contrarian. Box Up 2-4-5-6-8.
Race 8 and this is the 2013 Classic Prelude (2) Final. It is very hard to go past the inside brigade in Farmeroo and the Matty Payne trained Woodnear. Both have been racing well and the rails draw will help them both. Irish Angel is no slouch and can possie up from box 3. Box Up 1-2-3-5.
The distance affair is race 9 and the Foster kennel has Mclaren Prince racing well, the draw of 1 will be a big help as he can kick up and run a cheeky race.
I have gone wide here and tipped last start winner Husky Dreamer who charged home to beat Fender by over 3L in a good 43.25. Box Up 1-3-7-8.
Race 10 and the Kim Johnstone trained Disco Dave has drawn well out in box 7, he led them a merry dance last week but was run down by Full Beer Fridge in 30.13. The Collision sprinter looks the leader again and can win this event. There are several hopes for the minors. Box Up 1-6-7-8.
Race 11 and this is the swansong of the evening. I normally like to finish the night with a certainty but this is a very hard event. Box Up 2-3-6-8.
Best Bet : Disco Dave Race 10 no 7
Best Eachway : Fender Race 9 no 8
Best Roughie : Carnage Informer Race 4 no 2
JOKE OF THE WEEK
Little Johnny wasn't very good at spelling. During an oral spelling exam, the teacher wrote the word "new" on the blackboard. "Now," she asked Johnny, "what word would we have if we placed a "K" in the front?"
After a moment's reflection, Johnny said, "Canoe?"

NO TRIALS AT ANGLE PARK ON SATURDAY DUE TO TRACK TURNOVER
There will be no trials at Angle Park this Saturday morning due to a track turnover. This is the only weekend that was available for our contractor to complete this work.
He will be back in December to complete the Gawler track turnover which will be done on Thursday 5th December 2013. As a result there will be no trials at Gawler on that morning.
ANGLE PARK ON BOXING DAY NOW IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE
After a request from GRV and approval from Sky Racing we have shifted out Thursday night meeting on December 26 (Boxing Day) from a night meeting to a twilight meeting. This has assisted GRV with their programming of feature Group races at Sandown and Sale on this night.
Race times at Angle Park will now be around 3.18pm to 6.27pm. GRSA will look to increase the Trainers Fee for this meeting to assist our participants.
GRV have advised that they will look to assist GRSA with their programming in the future to “square up” this trade of racing dates. We would be hopeful of securing a Friday night timeslot sometime in the New Year.

RUSH HOUR RETURN ARRIVES ON TIME
After six starts in South Australia Rush Hour Return broke through for her debut win on local soil yesterday. Raced by the Triple M Rush Hour team of Mark Ricciuto and Chris Dittmar she put the writing on the wall last Wednesday with a good second and followed up with a nose win yesterday at Angle Park. She ran a handy 22.54 for the 388m journey winning her Grade 6 event and is a credit to her trainer Laurie Cahalan who has put much time and effort in getting her back into winning form. The result of her win and second place means that she has already won $350 for the Make A Wish Foundation and with another 12 months to go for the Rush Hour team they are hopeful she can continue to add to their chosen charity.
PORT AUGUSTA ON MELBOURNE CUP DAY
The Port Augusta Greyhound Racing Club will have a Non TAB meeting on Melbourne Cup Day this Tuesday (5th November). This is a great day for the Port Augusta Club as they get terrific numbers and support for their meeting on the first Tuesday in November. It’s always a great day to attend.
