Angle Park Thursday Night Preview
TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
It looks a very good card on paper tonight and for mine we can kick the meeting off with a couple of early winners.
Race 1 and this looks a two dog race. The inside brigade both have early pace and I’ve tipped Mr. Pipeline. Forget his last start when he was unplaced, he can bounce back in this. Grainne O’Malley is the big danger and a win won’t surprise. Add in Sneaky Spirit and Linguist who will be rattling home late for the minors.
In race 2 Little Waz Bo can finally crack it tonight for a win. After a run of 2nd’s the last 50m is the big worry but should be good enough for this. The early leader looks like Umika Bale who is well drawn down on the fence and will possie up. Scorch McBain and Sniper Skills for the minors.
Race 3 is a very open affair and there looks to be a heap of chances. Box up 1-5-7-8. I have tipped the 7, Bourne Surfer from the Jovanovic camp at good each way odds.
In race 4 Russian Fighter is in terrific form of late for the Jovanovic kennel and should be able to lead throughout from box 3. The main danger is Lektra Rhianna for Shaun Matcott but is hit and miss early. Miss Avocet can’t be overlooked as she will be running on.
Race 5 and the 600m event is a good one again. It appears a two dog war and both have drawn poorly in box 4 and 5. Dyna Daina can kick up and hold the lead early and go on for a win. Fair Change is the danger and is more than capable of leading them a merry dance. Again there are several chances for 3rd but I like Prince Holyfield to be rattling home late and will be right in the top 3.
Yasi Girl can lead race 6 from her draw of box 3. She is in terrific form and the Bearpark kennel is racing well. Sugar Bullet is a handy performer but will need to overcome his poor draw of 5. Box up 1-2-3-5.
Troy Murray rarely goes home without a winner and Emerley Lover is on fire with three wins on the trot and he appears the one to beat in race 7. At This Moment and Right Time are strong performers who should fill the placings. Don’t leave out Prank Call who has been struggling of late but is a class act when on song.
Race 8 and we see the return of Group 1 winner Sometimes Speedy, from box 8. She is a huge show here, she loves the track and the kennel wouldn’t start her if she’s not ready. Springvale Cool is well drawn again and won here last week from the same box. Hopes Up can win with an ounce of luck early and could be the value runner.
Onto race 9 and Kalden Mayhem can bring up a treble for Troy, as the small field is a big bonus. Cousin Callum is proving a bit tricky of late for punters but can never be overlooked. Miss Woods and Azz Always for 3rd but the trifecta won’t pay much.
The last two box up 1-2-3-6 and in the final event Wally Harkins can win with Who De Punk in box 2. Elite Play and the other 6 to fill third 1-2-3-6.
Happy Punting Good Luck…
JOKE OF THE WEEK
There was a man driving a pickup truck down a country road, when suddenly he was broad sided by a trailer truck. Some time went by, and the case got to court. The defence attorney said to the plaintiff, "How can you be suing my client now when you told a trooper after the accident that you felt fine?"
The man replied, "Well sir, it was like this. We was drivin' down the road, mindin' our own business, when a big trailer truck came out of nowhere and creamed us. When I came to, I was in the ditch, and a trooper was pullin' up with his car. He looked at the hogs, and they was 'most dead, so he shot 'em. Then he looked at my dog, and he was hurt real bad, so he shot him. Then he came over to me and he said, 'How you feeling?'" "I said, I never felt better in my life."

PORT AUGUSTA CUP FINAL LAST SATURDAY
The Port Augusta City Council Greyhounds Cup was run in testing conditions at Chinnery Park last Saturday. The well supported Cleve greyhound, Jak & Boss, bred at Booleroo Centre by Don Fiebig won the Port Augusta Cup for Kenny Newlyn and family. This dog was having its 12th run for 5 victories, all on Chinnery Park’s grass track. Five Star Knocka (trained by Gary Rawlings, Whyalla) tried valiantly, but was beaten by 2 ¾ lengths.
Gary went one better with Cette Sails winning the Grade 6 event.

Evergreen Broken Hill trainer, Peter Slater saluted in the Maiden Final with She Gone.
Yvonne Maxwell from Whyalla won a double, winning the last two races on the programme with All Is Cool and Grumpy Argument.
