SA DOMINATES BROKEN HILL CUP FINAL ON SUNDAY
South Australian trainers dominate the $10,000 to the winner Broken Hill Cup Final on Sunday night with 6 of the 8 qualifiers coming from our local participants.
Heat winners from last Sunday night were John Dutton for Tony Rasmussen (30.56) and Raver’s Army for Tim Aloisi running 30.30. The final will be run this Sunday night 7th May.
The final will be race 8 on Sunday night due to start at 7.11 pm.

MURRAY BRIDGE CIRCLE TRACK HARROWED THIS MONDAY
GRSA advise that the maintenance team at Murray Bridge will conduct a track harrow this Monday 8/5 on the one-turn track weather dependent. This was not done this week due to the inclement weather. This will not affect the racing or trial schedule.
2023 GROUP 3 HOWARD ASHTON HEATS – NOMINATIONS CLOSE THIS MONDAY
The major race for Breeders 2023 is Group 3 Howard Ashton. Trainers are reminded that the $3,700 Heats will be run on Thursday, 11th May.
These will be followed by the $4,500 Semi-Finals on May 18th and the $37,500 Final on May 25th.
This race is for greyhounds that are eligible for Breeders 2023. Greyhounds didn't have to compete in the Preludes to run in the Group 3 Howard Ashton.

LOW-GRADE RACE FOR THURSDAYS AT ANGLE PARK
To ensure we are programming 12 races each Thursday night at Angle Park GRSA has introduced a low-grade race for some Thursday nights. These races are for Grade 5 greyhounds over 530m that have a low WPS (Weighted Points Score). Prizemoney will be slightly less than a normal Grade 5, however, these races will be non-penalty. There will be no guarding, no reserves and only one 8 greyhound race. This should encourage those trainers who have 500m+ greyhounds but feel they cannot compete on a regular Thursday night due to their current form. We are hoping to draw from a different pool of greyhounds and GRSA would encourage trainers to nominate.

GRSA has also continued with the 1 – 4 win Time Graded heats on a Saturday morning over 530m into a Thursday night final however with the introduction of the race on Thursday night, in May the 5 + 530m Time Graded events will only be run if insufficient nominations for the meeting (there will be no heats for this pool of greyhounds).
GRSA will also continue running heats at Murray Bridge, Angle Park Monday and Gawler into a Thursday night final where the program allows to draw from a different pool of greyhounds over 500m.
MURRAY BRIDGE STAT TRIALS
Please be advised Satisfactory Trials at Murray Bridge on Wednesday nights will be conducted on a fortnightly basis due to staffing issues. The next fortnightly opportunity will be Wednesday 10th May.
2023 WEBLEC ACE AND MEPUNGA BLAZER AT STUD MURRAY BRIDGE STRAIGHT TRACK CUP THIS MONTH
The $14,275 Weblec Ace and Mepunga Blazer at Stud Murray Bridge Straight Track Cup Final will be run on Tuesday, 23rd May 2023.
The Heats will be conducted on Tuesday, 16th May 2023

SHANE MCQUEEN HEATS IN LATE MAY
The main 595m feature at Angle Park comes up on Thursday, 25th May with the running of the Heats of the Shane McQueen.
This series has always been well supported by the Industry with three or four Heats normally run. The $14,275 Final will be held on Thursday, 1st June.

BAYROAD QUEEN STAYERS HEATS IN JUNE
The $6,790 Heats of the Bayroad Queen Stayer’s Cup will be run over 730m on Thursday, 15th June. The $14,275 Final will be run on Thursday, 22nd June.
