We have been having a couple of good weeks on the punt and let's hope tonight is no different, the highlights of the evening are the two finals, Race 6 over the 730m is the 2023 SA Distance Championship Final and Race 8 is the 2023 SA Anniversary Cup over the 530m both are wide open and will make for good betting affairs. As always all events are Trifecta and First Four races.

SA DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL TONIGHT
There were two heats of the SA Distance Championship last week with heat winners being Zipping Senorita (43.09) and Springvale Rex (42.96). The final will be race 6 tonight due to start at 8.25 pm.

SA ANNIVERSARY CUP FINAL TONIGHT
There were three heats of the SA Anniversary Cup last week with heat winners being Victa Alby (30.53), Basil Brush Rose (30.62) and Springvale Maddi (30.43). The final will be race 8 tonight due to start at 9.05 pm.

MT GAMBIER IS TO START EARLIER ON SUNDAY
Please be advised the race times for Mt Gambier on Sunday (30/4) have changed and will now start earlier. Race 1 will be at 11.20 am and the last of 10 at 2.13 pm. Kennelling will be 10 am to 10.45 am.

BROKEN HILL CUP HEATS ON SUNDAY
There will be plenty of local flavour across the border in NSW on Sunday night where some of our local greyhounds will take on the NSW speedsters in heats of the Broken Hill Cup.
Race 6 is the first heat and features John Dutton (box 1) for Tony Rasmussen and the Clint Trengove pair of Zipping Loxley (box 3) and It’s Smudgy (Box 7). Race 7 is the second heat and features Howling Hoss (box 1) and Spring Illusion (box 8) for Clint Trengove, Queen Of Scotch for Tony Rasmussen out of box 2 and Raver’s Army for Tim Aloisi out of box 5. The final will be worth $10,000 to the winner and be run next Sunday night 7th May.
MURRAY BRIDGE CIRCLE TRACK HARROWED ON MONDAY
GRSA advises that maintenance staff at Murray Bridge will be harrowing the circle track this coming Monday 1st May straight after trials providing the weather is ok.
2023 GROUP 3 HOWARD ASHTON HEATS – NOMINATIONS CLOSE MONDAY 8TH MAY
The major race for Breeders 2023 is Group 3 Howard Ashton. Trainers are reminded that the $3,700 Heats will be run on Thursday, 11th May.
These will be followed by the $4,500 Semi-Finals on May 18th and the $37,500 Final on May 25th.
This race is for greyhounds that are eligible for Breeders 2023. Greyhounds didn't have to compete in the Preludes to run in the Group 3 Howard Ashton.
