Angle Park Review - 13th APRIL 2023
While many eyes were on the Crows as they kicked off Gather Round with a resounding win, the night's racing at Angle Park also provided a few highlights for racing fans.
One to watch
With her brother Victa Damian hitting the headlines this week, it was his Victa Tara's turn to debut for the Rasmussen kennel and show what she can do too. Starting as a short-priced favourite in heat two of the night's Open Maiden series, Victa Tara began nicely from box two to find the lead and opened up a handy 5 length break on Graham Brown's Whisky Not Wine by the back straight. From there it was only a matter of Victa Tara would tire on the run home and allow the field to catch her. Heading for home, she still held a good advantage but Whisky Not Wine was finishing strongly however, Victa Tara was able to hold on to win by a half-length in 31.07 seconds ahead of a gallant Whiskey Not Wine and Speedy Lamb for Ben Rawlings. It should make for an entertaining final of the series next Thursday night with all greyhounds being better for the run. Trainer Graham Brown will have a nice hand in the final with the winner of heat one another of his youngsters in Lost At Sea, who is also the littermate to Whisky Not Wine.
