TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

We won’t get a more even night of racing than we get tonight! All races bar one look to have several chances so it makes for good betting. On Fire looks to be the only stand out as he continues on his winning way, fronting up in race 3 and is going for 14 straight wins. I have tipped 5 box 8 runners to win here at headquarters this evening and the kennel to follow is the powerful Rasmussen team.

Race 1 and we can kick off with the Lauren Harris trained Stack The Aces, he has a good turn of early pace and should nearly pinch this. Lupe Fiasco was a handy winner here Monday night after a long spell and will only improve, add in Greysynd Gem who loves to fill a place. Box Up 3.5.6.7.

Race 2 - All the main chances have drawn awkwardly but I will stick with Cairnlea Gump for the Jovanovic kennel, he can be hit and miss but is very strong so we will make him our main pick. Edison Bale rattled home to score here Monday from a rails draw and should figure again amongst the placegetters .Tag And Release doesn’t win enough for me but hasn’t missed a cheque in his last 4. Box Up 3.4.6.7.

Race 3 - He is going for 14 straight and that is On Fire and he loves box 8, he continues to step up each week and is a pleasure to watch as he weaves his way through the field, he wins again. Signal Peak loves to lead but has been the runner up behind the champ in recent weeks .Box Up 8 from 3.4.7.

Race 4 - The Rasmussen team can kick off with a winner here with Dyna Keitaro out in box 8, he continues to mix his box form as he can be tardy early, he can swoop home over the top of them in this very even field. The dangers look to be the two Troy Murray trained sprinters in Its Classified and Backpacker. Box Up 4.5.7.5.

Race 5 - This is the 1st of the 600m events for the night and Windsome Summer is in terrific form of late with 2 wins here over this trip in her past couple, she should sit handy and make it 3 in a row. Peregrine Strike was a big run in good time last start from this draw and will be right in the finish again. Box Up 3.5.6.8.

Race 6 - Hukanui had plenty of support here last start and hung on to score over Whispering Soul in 35.37, he loves this trip and should start the punters elect. Dyna Chirpy is our value runner for the First Four as she will be making late ground. We can’t leave out She’s A Looper who has a terrific strike rate. Box Up 4.6.7.8.

Race 7 - Tough affair and we will go with a newcomer in Spring Bloom in box 4, she won 1st up here in South Australia over the short at Gawler in 22.77 and looks primed for a 1st up win here at headquarters. Harbison Miss finally broke back into the winner’s circle after a run of outs and should be very hard to beat in this. Box Up 3.4.5.8.

Race 8 - This is a wide-open affair with at least 5 chances but we can’t back them all, we will go with the Janice Jones trained High Eden Snow down in box 3, he is very smart when out in front and with moderate beginners drawn on his inside he might be able to skip to the front. Jacqui Blax has pace and appears one of the main chances. Box Up 2.3.4.8.

Race 9 - I have loved the distance racing we have had here in recent weeks and this should be no different, Purpose Driven should set the early pace once again and with her recent record of 3 wins and 2 placings should be very hard to beat again out in box 8. Caprice Monelli blew the start before making good late ground when 3rd behind Bamba Lam Barney here last week, can improve and looks the main danger again. Box Up 1.4.7.8.

Race 10 - Rhynstone Teddy charged home to win here from box 2 to win the Champion Puppy Final here last week and the youngster looks to have a very bright future and should prove very hard to beat again. Kenzi has been well travelled of late and can pinch a place at handy odds, add in Aston Mondo who is working towards another win. Box Up 1.2.5.8.

Race 11 - I like the book ends in this with Keno Bale and Victa Matt both look well placed and should be right in the finish, the value runner is the pacey Miss Darlo who won from this draw last start and is sure to run a bold race. Box Up 1.2.4.8.
