 TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

It appears a terrific night of racing with several highlights on the programme.  Race 1 is not to be missed as is race 8, the Free For All event.  This race has several chances and should make it a good betting race. Race 4 looks to be a two dog war in Dyna Keitaro and Texas Titan, they will be high flying by the time they hit the back straight. Good Luck and happy punting…..

Race 1 - Crisis Bale is back in grade tonight and from box 2 he can ping and lead.  The BIG danger will come from Fusaichi Kahn who is more than capable with early luck.  Add in Dodger I Am for the trifecta.  Box Up the inside brigade 1.2.3.4.

Race 2 - the inform runner is the Rob Harnas trained Zipping Bianca.  She hasn’t missed a place here in her last 5 starts and should jump straight to the front and win.  Molly Dobbs is a likely improver out wide and is a chance of pinching a place at odds.  Cairnlea Mat is hit and miss on box rise but the draw of 1 will be a big help.  Box Up 1.5.6.7.

Race 3 - I like one at good odds in this and that is Excusez Moi.  This is a very open affair and she is more than capable when on song.  Electro Bale will start the punters elect and has the pace to cross.  Box Up 2.4.6.8.

Race 4 - As mentioned before this looks a two dog race, both can run slick times but I will stick with Dyna Keitaro on his last start win in a sensational 29.55 here.  Texas Titan will be rattling home late and should finish a very good 2nd.  1 from 7 with 4 and 8 to finish 3rd.

Race 5 - This is the distance affair of the night and Mija Returns flew home late to snatch a victory over Danyo’s Tom last week.  She needs to be handy early and stay out of trouble for a bold showing.  Danyo’s Tom will lead again he has been runner up here at his last 4 starts and is a must for the trifecta.  Box Up 1.2.4.6.

Race 6 - Black Bottle has been struggling of late but can bounce back from box 8.  He has a good turn of early pace and should find this more to his liking.  Junner Bale is another who will appreciate this event and from box 2 should be there when the whips are cracking.  Box Up 1.2.7.8.

Race 7 - I am tipping the Johnstone family to have a big night so we will go with Blu Light Banjo in Box 3.  She has a good turn of pace from box rise and should give them something to catch.  Mighty Quoted will be running on from the rails as will be Oakvale Destiny who could be the smokey.  Box Up 1.3.5.7.

Race 8 - We can’t go past Coorong Kid, he just keeps on winning and from any draw and in QUICK times, so he is our top pick. Gun McBain can never be left out of the trifecta with his early pace and Wheel Spinner can pinch a place at handy odds.  Box Up 2.3.6.7.

Race 9 - Winning form is good form and that is the well performed Cairnlea Lewis, he loves this trip and should prove far too good again from box 4.  Barley’s Rhythm will be running on late.  Add in American Tony for the trifecta 4.1.8.in order

Race 10 - This is a very even race with several chances.  Total Shambles has the perfect draw down in box 1 and should be able to hold a handy position early.  Paddy’s Top Girl is pacey and might be able to cross from out wide.  Allen Odyssey is very tardy early but will be doing his best work over the last 100m, this makes it a good betting race so Box Up 1.5.6.8.

The final event, Race 11 - Jump on the Tony Rasmussen trained Vanish Allen.  She has the pace to lead and send us home on a winning note.  Antique Blonde has the rails draw and is a newcomer from Victoria, she is very strong with wins over the 600m so she is a must and is sure to be well tried.  Box Up 1.2.3.5.

LUNA JINX & SPRINGVALE BRYNE IN SANDOWN CUP HEATS TONIGHT

The Gavin Harris trained pair of Luna Jinx and Springvale Bryne will be competing tonight in the heats of the rich Sandown Cup series in Victoria. Local staying star Luna Jinx has drawn box 3 in race 3 (7.16pm SA time) and is quoted at double figure odds which seems great value. After winning her last three local starts Springvale Bryne will compete in race 9 tonight due to be run at 9.25pm coming out of the 5 box. We wish the Gavin Harris trained pair the best of luck.

FABREGAL TAKING ON THE WA OAKS THIS SATURDAY NIGHT

She has drawn box 7 in race 5 and with her early pace looks very hard to beat. Good luck to Robyn and the connections on Saturday night.
