TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

Tonight’s highlight is the St. Patrick Day Sprint race 6 on the programme, the Cameron Butcher kennel should have a very good night and have 3 runners in this, look out for the Rasmussen kennel as they have several chances over the 11 event card. Venture to the 600 event, race 9 later in the night we see the return of Bogie Bekim who has taken on the best around Australia and came home with a big win beating the best in WA.

Race 1 and we tipped him last week and that is the Kirin Corby trained Harbormaster, he missed the kick then made late ground to run a strong 4th. He will only be improved by the run and is boxed for a bold showing, we can’t leave out Regal Looper who is racing well along with Ruff State who is drawn to kick up on the rails. Box Up 2.3.7.8.

Race 2 - I like the inside 3 here, all have good box manners on their night and have only had a handful of starts. Royal Bling is my tip to hold the lead into the 1st turn, Dorsal loves to track wide and will be running on. Box Up 1.2.3.7.

Race 3 - The main chances have all drawn poorly but it’s hard to go past Windmill Haze for the Kenny Gill kennel, he was a last start winner here in quick time and should be hard to beat again. Ten Pin Cam won from box 8 last week and loves to fill a place. Box Up 2.3.4.5.

Race 4 - the distance affair of the night and there is only 5 runners but all have a chance. Springvale Bryne will start the punters elect and resumed with a solid run over the sprint here last start. There is a newcomer in Caprice Monelli from WA now in the Rasmussen kennel so keep an eye on the betting with him. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 5 - Ben Rawlings rarely goes home without a winner and Bathtub Teddy hasn’t missed a cheque in his last 5 runs at this venue so he is a must for the trifecta. Sheeza Nitro has pace and if able to lead would prove very hard to beat. Box Up 1.6.7.8.

Race 6 - The St Patrick’s Day Sprint and the Butcher kennel look very hard to beat and could nearly trifecta the race with their 3 runners. I like Molly Be Nimble as she has the perfect draw down on the rails, she has won her last 4 here all in quick time. On Fire can be hit and miss on box rise but will be rattling home late. Box Up 1.2.3.4.

Race 7 - The Jovanovic kennel has a handy one in  Cairnlea Ollie, he has only missed a place once in his 6 starts and has notched up 4 wins and he looks hard to beat. Chopsticks is very smart when on song but misses the kick, add in Halo Blaze for value for the pick 4. Box Up 1.2.4.8.

Race 8 - He is in fine form and we have been tipping him and that is Zoltan Bale, he is very hard to beat when on the lure and is drawn to win again at handy odds. Kennel mate Alice’s Entity should start the punters elect and is a must for our top 3. Box Up 1.2.4.6.

Race 9 and this is a very handy 600 event but the Rawlings kennel look to have a strangle hold with their outstanding stayer Bogie Bekim, he has had a long campaign around Australia since the start of the year but should be primed 1st up to run quick time tonight so we will make him the stand out 8 from 1.2.4. Boxed.

Race 10 - The 2 main chances look to be Lyka Model in box 4 and Dyna Chirpy out in the pink both have been racing well and only bad luck would see them miss a place, add in Cash For Jam who could be a sneaky chance if things went the right way in the run to the 1st turn. Box Up 4.5.7.8.

Race 11 - Let’s hope we all go home on a winner with Hesa Jayclo, he is having his 99th career start tonight and has been knocking on door of late. Go Geronimo adds value as he will be working home late at good odds. Box Up 1.2.3.6

AGRC MEMBERS LUCKY DOG DRAW
Each year we have drawn 4 names for each week’s Thursday APK race 8, next to each name is the box number of the dog you have drawn in Race 8.  If your box number happens to win Race 8, you can renew your membership next year (30th June) for half price.

If you happen to own or train greyhounds racing on the date that your name has been drawn, you can choose to have your dogs drawn instead of the lucky box number and it works the same if your dog drawn happens to win.  It is up to you to notify an AGRC committee member on the night that you want to take up this option and we will randomly draw one of your dogs competing on the night. AGRC Committee members are Alan Amezdroz, Barry Stewart, Petar Jovanovic, Melissa Trowbridge, Gabe Vistolli and Gavin Harris.
