Angle Park Racing Preview - 10.11.16
by The Shadow
There looks to be a couple of good things tonight and the highlights are a very good FFA which is race 4 on the card. It only has 5 starters but they all have their fair share of ability. Venture to race 8 and this is an absolute ripper with several chances. Don’t forget to get on the trifectas and first 4s on all 11 races.
Race 1 and it’s always good to kick off with a winner so jump on the Jamie Quinlivian sprinter Signal Peak, he won from this draw at Gawler two runs back in quick time and should prove hard to beat from his wide draw tonight. Marcling has been amongst them of late and should figure. Box Up 1.2.5.7.
Race 2 - Janice Jones has a handy one in High Eden Snow, he has won 4 from 5 starts and is boxed to kick up and storm home over his rivals. Rockstar Billy is a likely improver as is Stack ‘Em Fast. Box Up 1.2.5.7.
Race 3, this is a wide open affair with at least 4 winning chances. For mine I will go with Gnasher who resumed here last week with a handy 3rd, he has a good turn of early pace and might be able to pinch this. Monster Foxy is a smokey for mine and is a must for the trifecta punters, add in Westy Bob from the rails. Box Up 1.5.6.7.
Race 4 - Wilba Beast pinged the lids here last start and won the feature event in a slick 29.81 from this draw. He will be the measuring stick again on that gallop. Wheel Spinner loves a wide draw and the small field should suit. Box Up 1.2.4.6.
Race 5, tough affair as there is pace and several who will be charging home over the last 50m and they are Mrs Bubbles, Caustic Bale and Dyna Keitaro. We must box those 3 and add in the pacey Gun McBain who looks the likely leader. Box Up 1.2.4.8.
Race 6, I like one here at each way odds in Zipping Bianca trained by Rob Harnas. She has a good turn of early pace and was a very good 2nd here last start when run down by Caustic Bale. Hy Guard is drawn for a forward showing and add in Sketchy Max for a bit of value in the first 4. Box Up 2.3.6.7.
Race 7, the Johnstone kennel is on fire of late and they have another big chance with Show Me Dollars out in box 6. She has good box manners and will be right in the finish. Huayra is boxed for a forward showing but is hit and miss on box rise. He is more than capable when on song and can’t be dismissed. Box up 1.2.6.8.
Race 8 - It’s hard to go past Marlow Brown, he was a game 2nd last start here behind Wilba Beast and he should come out running and prove the one to beat. Crisis Bale and Ruff State can fill the trifecta, add in Dana Mork at big odds for the first 4. Box Up 1.6.7.8
Race 9 –t his is the distance affair for the night and Parsec Bale will be suited by the small field. She should be handy early and will take beating. Go You Girl is always around the mark as is Tahlo. 1 from 2.6.8 Boxed.
Race 10 and we have a handy 600m affair. The inform runner is the Kirin Corby chaser Eduardo who has won his last 4 over this trip all in quick times. Allen Mondo is drawn to run another bold race and we can’t leave out Barely’s Rhythm who will be doing her best work late. 2 from 1.5.7.Boxed.
Race 11 – this is a toughie to go home on but I’m leaning towards the Wendy Matcott trained Allen Santo, his wins are few and far between but he loves to run a place. Pit Girl and Dyna Parlance are the other main chances. Box Up 3.4.5.7.

WORM BURNER AND SPRINGVALE BRYNE LEAD THE WAY FOR SA IN BIG NIGHT OF RACING AT SANDOWN
The Cameron Butcher trained Worm Burner will be hoping to show is true colours in the Melbourne Cup heats tomorrow night at Sandown.
After a slightly disappointing run in the Shootout where he finished 4th he has drawn a winnable heat on the program. He is engaged in race 4 and drawn box 4 due to start at 7.38pm (SA time). With only Jack Walker drawn in box 8 a speed machine from the boxes he should hopefully be able to position up nice and close this week and give himself a chance at qualifying. However the TAB Melbourne Cup heats are widely regarded as the best night of greyhound racing on the calendar in Australia, so he will have to beat the best to be the best.
The 64 greyhounds drawn into the 8 heats have combined for 1024 race wins and earned a staggering $7.3m in prize money, and features nine individual group 1 winners and a further 10 chasers that have tasted success at group level. The winner of each heat will progress to the $600,000 final – the world’s richest greyhound race – to be run on Friday 18 November. The box draw for the final will be conducted at Sandown Park on Sunday 13 November.
Rounding out a massive night of chasing, local star Springvale Bryne for Gavin Harris is engaged in the heats of the group 1 Bold Trease. The winner and runner up of each of the four heats will progress to the $145,000 final on Melbourne Cup night. Springvale Bryne is in race 11 and drawn box 3 due to start at 10.00pm (SA time). She does look the leader so with her fighting spirit let’s hope she can qualify for SA and her connections.

AGRC MEMBERS LUCKY DOG DRAW
Reminder on how it works, each year we have drawn 4 names for each week’s Thursday APK race 8, next to each name is the box number of the dog you have drawn in Race 8. If your box number happens to win Race 8, you can renew your membership next year (30th June) for half price. We have drawn 8 names for the Xmas function night so we will have at least one happy member on that night.
If you happen to own or train greyhounds racing on the date that your name has been drawn, you can choose to have your dogs drawn instead of the lucky box number and it works the same if your dog drawn happens to win. It is up to you to notify an AGRC committee member on the night that you want to take up this option and we will randomly draw one of your dogs competing on the night.
AGRC Committee members are Alan Amezdroz, Barry Stewart, Petar Jovanovic, Melissa Trowbridge, Gabe Vistolli and Gavin Harris.
