TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow

With a long weekend coming up we will need to back a few winners early on the massive 12 event programme to line our pockets. The highlights look to be races 7 through to 8 and the rest of the night look to be very open don’t forget all events are trifecta and pick 4 events.

Race 1 - We kick off with an interesting one to me, it looks a two dog affair and I like the pacey Harbormaster he has returned from a stint in Victoria but hasn’t raced since early December. He is sure to be well tried tonight, On Fire is racing well but is hit and miss on box rise but is a huge chance again. Box Up 2.3.6.8.

Race 2 - this is a toughie, we will stick with the last start winner in Shores Girl out in box 7. She has pace and will be hard to beat again. Woodside Rocky wins are far and few between but looks a place chance. Box Up 1.6.7.8.

Race 3 - Long Gully Josh has the wins on the board and he loves this draw, he has terrific early pace and looks one of the better bets on the programme.  Hesa Marlow is another speedy type as is Cyril Beast. Box up 1.5.6.7.

Race 4 - This is a good even race so it makes for a great pick 4 event. I lean to Mauricio who has enough early pace to cross from his wide draw. Blown Away will add value as will Zipping Nelson, Pawesome Boss could be the surprise runner if he steps at good odds. Box Up 2.4.5.7.

Race 5 - They don’t get any harder than this one as they all have a chance. We will stick with a couple of inform runners in What’s Up Herbie and Scottish Thistle, both have different racing styles but should be around the mark. Box Up 1.2.6.7.

Race 6 - The old fellow in Gun Mcbain gets his chance to notch up his 59 win if successful tonight he has drawn the middle but he has early dash. Regal Looper is drawn for a bold showing and will be the big improver. Box Up 1.4.5.8.

Race 7 - We have tipped her the last couple of weeks and that is Dream A Little, she is in fine form and won by a big margin here last week in quick time, she wins again. Gangster Miss is well drawn and the Rasmussen kennel is in fine form. Box Up 1.2.4.7.

Race 8 - The Butcher kennel rarely goes home without a winner and Molly Be Nimble has been in outstanding form of late so we will make her the standout, litter mate Penny Maker is another who is in good form so we can’t leave her out of our calculations Box Up 3.4.6.8.

Race 9 - This is a very good 600 event and the Kenny Gill trained Long Gully Gilly loves the draw and distance, he looks primed for this and will take a power of beating. Allen Oregon is drawn for a bold showing and will be at each way odds so he is a must for the trifecta. Box Up 1.4.7.8.

Race 10 - Bella Trix is knocking on the door with 2 good placings here in recent weeks she is drawn to break through, add to the pick 4 with Columbian Flame who was a big improver here last start but is very slow early. Box Up 1.4.6.7.

Race 11 - Let’s hope we are winning by now and Rosie Allen finally finds a rails draw and will be hard to beat if she can push up early. Dyna Chirpy is very hit and miss on box rise but will be rattling home late, Another Mai doesn’t win enough for me but loves to run a place. Box Up 1.2.3.7.

Race 12 - This is what of married men say to their darling wives, and Yes Sarge should send us home on a winning note after a massive 12 event programme, she has the pace to ping and win for mine. Allen Santo will be working home late and is the value runner for pick 4 punters, don’t leave Todd Bless out as he is well drawn out wide Box Up 1.3.4.7.

AGRC MEMBERS LUCKY DOG DRAW
Each year we have drawn 4 names for each week’s Thursday APK race 8, next to each name is the box number of the dog you have drawn in Race 8.  If your box number happens to win Race 8, you can renew your membership next year (30th June) for half price.

If you happen to own or train greyhounds racing on the date that your name has been drawn, you can choose to have your dogs drawn instead of the lucky box number and it works the same if your dog drawn happens to win.  It is up to you to notify an AGRC committee member on the night that you want to take up this option and we will randomly draw one of your dogs competing on the night. AGRC Committee members are Alan Amezdroz, Barry Stewart, Petar Jovanovic, Melissa Trowbridge, Gabe Vistolli and Gavin Harris.
