TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

Well we all start a new year and let’s hope it’s a safe one for all, and all you trainers out there continue to get plenty of winners, and we punters do the same. The kennel to follow has to be the Kirin Corby team, she has 4 runners engaged and they all look very hard to beat. Don’t forget all races are Trifecta and First Four events. Good Luck.

Race 1 - Querencia can start the ball rolling for the Corby Kennel, he was a short price favourite last start when he won at Gawler from box 3 and should go very close once again. Cut Footluce is a speedy type and will be right in the finish. Box Up 1.2.6.7

Race 2 - With only the 5 runners Red Rock can make it a race to race double for the Corby team, he found trouble early at Gawler last start when 3rd but he is a lot better than that run and should be hard to toss. Bam Bam Johnny is a threat. Box Up 1.2.6.8

Race 3 - Zipping Rocket should start the punters elect here, he trialled over the short here in 22.44 and is having his 1st start here in SA. Victa Charlie has been placed in 10 of his 18 starts and is knocking on the door big time. Box Up 1.2.6.8

Race 4 - This is the 600m event of the night and Stack The Aces might be able to pinch this with an ounce of luck early, he has a good record over this trip and is my top selection. Nations is a class act and should find this more to his liking, he has been slow out in recent runs and should be right in the finish. Add Sketchy Gun and Motown Kenny. Box Up all the evens 2.4.6.8.

Race 5 - Eedee Keepsake carved out 29.83 at her 1st start winning by over 6 length’s from box 4, he looks to be a smart pup and is drawn for a bold showing. Emerley Storm is our value runner and can run into the placings for our First Four. Weblic Nic has good Murray Bridge form and is capable of surprising. Box Up 2.3.5.6.

Race 6 - Fabwik has the pace to lead and win this with 2 moderate beginners drawn on her inside, she is a class act when on the lure and is our top selection. Cawbourne Swade has been very impressive since crossing the border and is the main danger. Add Larrikin Locky for value. Box Up 1.3.4.8.

Race 7 - This is a very handy affair and I like Rachel Zane drawn out in box 8, she has been placed 4 of her last 5 here and can go very close in this. Mr. Arjay is a veteran of 145 career starts and can add a bit of value to the Trifecta, add Meehan Sox and Croydon Boys. Box Up 1.4.6.8.

Race 8 - Big Casey has been well travelled of late with starts in Victoria to Mount Gambier and now back to headquarters where he has won 2 of his last 5 in good fashion, he is our top pick. Aston Marshall has been runner up behind 2 smart performers in recent runs and is the danger. Box Up 2.3.4.8.

Race 9 - This is the Distance affair of the night with 4 runners, Cairnlea Jet has a tremendous record of 7 wins and 2 placings from just the 11 starts and looks primed to win again. Pirates Curse lacks pace out of the boxes but the small field should play into his paws and he will be flying home late. Box up 1.3.5.7.

Race 10 - Magic Vi won here 2 starts back in 30.02 and was only beaten just under 2 length’s  here last week when hampered early, she can bounce back tonight and go very close. Sway Bars has been racing very well from wide draws and is the big danger. Box Up 1.4.6.7.

SENNACHIE IN GROUP 1 SILVER CHIEF FINAL ON SATURDAY NIGHT

Another terrific run by locally owned and bred Sennachie at the Meadows last Saturday night saw him qualify for the Group 1 Silver Chief Final at the Meadows this Saturday night.
