Angle Park Preview - Thursday 27th June 2019
by The Shadow
It’s unbelievable another month goes by and we need to back a few winners to pay our taxes, the 12 event card looks very open and I do have a couple of good things throughout the evening. We finished on the right side of the ledger here last Thursday so let’s hope we can do the same again tonight.
Race 1 - We picked Victa Suzie here last week and she led and was run down, she can bounce back tonight and should be at good each way odds. Swift Timing has been hit and miss of late but is more than capable winning here, she is a must for our Trifecta. Box Up 1.4.7.8
Race 2 - The Maiden of the night and we will go with the Sharyn Gray trained I’m Top Girl, she ran on strongly here last start when a very good 3rd in 29.86, she is drawn to win. Dashing Dixon is well drawn and is the likely improver along with Troy The Boy. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 3 - Resolute Lee charged home to win here last week to defeat litter mate Huey Lee, and they should go close to running the quinella again. McLaren Dazzler finished unplaced in the same event but wasn’t beaten that far and is well drawn to run a cheeky race. Box Up 1.2.4.7
Race 4 - The Lauren Harris trained sprinter Missy Crane led them a merry dance here last week when winning by over 5 lengths in 30.02, she looks the likely leader again and can only improve. Boss McLaren had huge support but the punters had to be content with a good 2nd, he was resuming from a break and is another who should have benefited from the outing. Box up 2.5.7.8
Race 5 - This is the 600m of the night and it’s hard to go past the inform More Rum Bateman, he has won his last 3 here including the Shane McQueen Final in a slick 35.05, he should go very close again. Whata Key is well drawn and has a good turn of early pace and is in the powerful Rasmussen kennel. Box Up 1.2.7.8
Race 6 - The Victorian visitor She’s Gifted flew late to run 2nd here last week after finding early trouble, she will have benefited by the run and will take a power of beating tonight. Times Right is very quick early and got the bickies for us last week, he is the main danger. Add Master Chaos who is in outstanding form. Box Up 1.4.6.8.
Race 7 - Fantastic Axel has found one better in recent starts, he is well drawn tonight and looks the measuring stick. Spring Sniper loves to fill a place and can do the same again from an awkward draw, add Alpha Aion and Diamond Heart. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 8 - There is a lot of talent in this and we will go with Better Dream who carved out a slick B.O.N 29.72 here last week, he has a terrific turn of early pace and is our top pick. Black Antico is on the improve and last start winner Matty Mateusz is well drawn. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 9 - Crowdza Jumpin’ led early at Gawler only to be run down last start, she is working towards a win and hopefully tonight is the night. Spring Glass will be doing her best work late along with McLaren Mystique who is my ROUGHIE of the night. Box Up 1.2.5.8
Race 10 - I love my distance racing and Rajasthan should start a very short price favourite here on recent wins in Victoria, he has been well travelled of late and looks far too good in this. West On Tia and My Boy Bean can fill the placings. Box Up 1.2.4.6
Race 11 - Winsome Dylan has been a terrific money earner over this trip for connections, he hasn’t missed a cheque in 11 starts, he loves this draw and should take tossing. Victa Nash has been hit and miss of late but is capable of running into the placings. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 12 - It’s a tricky race to go home on and I like one in this at each way odds in Dyna Adria, she is very smart with early luck and can lead on her night. Sweet Ella and Road Travelled can run into the placings. Box Up 1.2.4.5.

FUTURITY PAYMENTS DUE TOMORROW
Owners of SA Bred greyhounds are reminded that the next batch of Futurity payments are due tomorrow (Friday, 28th June 2019). There will be three series’ for which payments will need to be made.
The payments due are:
Classic 2019 – Final Payment - Pups Born July 17 to Dec 17
This payment is for greyhounds for which the first two Sustaining Payments have been made. The Final Payment is $121 per greyhound.
Breeders 2020 – Second Payment - Pups Born Jan 18 to June 18
This payment is for greyhounds for which the first Sustaining Payment was made last December. The Second Sustaining Payment is $55 per pup or a Final Payment of $121 can be made at this stage.
Classic 2020 – First Payment - Pups Born July 18 to Dec 18
The First Payment is due for Classic 2020. All SA Bred greyhounds born in the above period are eligible to make this payment. The First Payment is $27.50 per pup or a “one-off” Final payment of $121 can be made at this stage.
To assist all owners of Futurity eligible pups, reminders have been sent out earlier this week. It is perhaps a good idea to make the payment as soon as you can, so it doesn’t slip your mind and the closing date passes. If you have sold a pup/s we would ask if you can either forward on the information or let Caralyn Fielden know at GRSA and she can follow it up. If you haven’t received a reminder by the end of this week and you think you should have, contact us asap.

MURRAY BRIDGE STRAIGHT TRACK UPDATE
GRSA has committed to the commencement of straight track racing on Wednesday 24th July. Based on the current schedule of works, this will be from both the 300m and 350m starts.
However if issues are encountered with the crane system for the 300m boxes for any reason, the 24th July meeting will proceed regardless, with racing out of the 350m start only. This will mean that Angle Park will now race on Wednesday 17th July giving them back to back meetings and swapping with Murray Bridge.
This will also allow for three consecutive race meetings on the straight track, with the last two meetings being the local heats and final of the SEN National Straight Track Championship series.
CINDERELLA’S CLEANING CHAMPION PUPPY HEATS IN JULY (NOT G-SIX)
Owners and trainers of up and coming youngsters should note that the Champion Puppy series isn’t far away.
The Cinderella’s Commercial Cleaning Group Champion Puppy Series is for greyhounds whelped on or after 1st July 2017 and is conducted as heats to a final series.
The $4,820 heats will be run on Thursday, 11th July and the final on Thursday, 18th July. Prizemoney for the 2019 Final will be $10,710.
*Nominations for the heats close on Monday, 8th July with GRSA at 9.00am.*
2019 CROCMEDIA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA
The GCA National Championships are just around the corner. The National Finals this year will be held at Cannington in Western Australia to be conducted on Saturday, 24th August. Both the National Sprint and National Distance Finals will carry prizemoney of $75,000 to the winner.
The State series’ for SA will be held at Angle Park on Thursday, 1st August for the Heats with the State Finals on the 8th August.
In an effort to support this series ALL states will be conducting their Finals on the same night to be run within a 2 hour period. It makes for a great promotional concept.
• Nominations this year will close at the normal time with GRSA which will be at 9am on Monday, 29th July
A reminder to all trainers of the clause which requires a greyhound to have been domiciled in South Australia for a period of not less than 76 days out of the 150 days immediately prior to the nomination closing date to be eligible to represent SA which going back is on Wednesday 15th May 2019. If unsure of a greyhound’s status, please contact the GRSA grading staff.
