TRAINERS FEE PAID UPSTAIRS IN BISTRO BAR FOR NEXT THREE THURSDAYS

Greyhound Racing SA advise the Angle Park Racing Office will be unmanned for the next three weeks due to staff availability (27/12,3/1,10/1). The Trainers fee will be paid upstairs in the Bistro Bar of Chasers Restaurant. Trainers will still be able to access Race Fields and Results during the night.


GAWLER NOW A MORNING MEETING TOMORROW DUE TO HEAT FORECAST

With excessive heat forecast in the Gawler region tomorrow the Gawler meeting scheduled for the Day time slot has been moved to the Morning slot starting at 10.02am local time with the last of 10 at 12.42pm. Kennelling times will be 8.45am to 9.30am. GRSA thanks the support of the Gawler Greyhound Racing Club and Sky Racing for this change.

MURRAY BRIDGE TRIALS CANCELLED TOMORROW

GRSA advise that the trials at Murray Bridge on Friday 28/12 have been cancelled due to staffing availability and forecast temperatures.

PORT AUGUSTA ON SATURDAY CANCELLED

The Port Augusta Non TAB meeting scheduled for this Saturday 29th December was cancelled due extreme weather forecast in that region later this week. With above 40 degrees for 4 days in a row forecast, the meeting did not go ahead.

HOT WEATHER POLICY

A reminder to trainers with the hot weather upon us to make sure they are aware of the conditions relating to the Hot Weather Policy. This policy is available on the GRSA website and also at the track.


WINNING POST SUPPLIES

Peter Bryce from Winning Post Supplies will be in Adelaide at Angle Park next Monday night. He will also be at the Murray Bridge meeting next Wednesday and Sunday.

SENNACHIE IN SILVER CHIEF SEMIS ON SATURDAY NIGHT

After finishing third in his heat last week exciting local chaser Sennachie will be in the Group 1 Silver Chief semi finals at the Meadows on Saturday night. He is engaged in Race 8 no 4 due to start at 9.08pm SA time and we wish him and connections the best of luck.

 


BARGAIN STEEL CENTRE SA SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP IN JANUARY

Owners and Trainers are reminded of the domiciliary clause on the Bargain Steel Centre SA Sprint Championship coming up in January.

To be eligible a greyhound must have been domiciled in SA for a period of not less than 76 days out of the 150 days immediately prior to the time fixed for the finalising of nominations and drawing of fields. (Nationals policy adopted)

This date going back 76 days is 24th October as nominations close on Monday, 7th January 2019.

The $4,820 heats are scheduled to be run on Thursday, 10th January, with the Final to be run on Thursday, 17th January. Total prizemoney for the listed final will be $22,000, with the winner’s share of $15,000.

• Nominations close on Monday, 7th January 2019 at 9.00am with GRSA.

 

JOHN GRAY FINAL IN JANUARY

The time honored John Gray series will be held in January with $3,350 heats run on Thursday, 17th January and the $10,710 final on Thursday, 24th January.

The series is for Grade 5 greyhounds over the 515m journey.

• Nominations close on Monday, 14th January 2019 at 9.00am with GRSA.

 

GREYHOUND OF THE YEAR ON SATURDAY, 23RD FEBRUARY AT GAWLER

The date has been set for the Greyhound of the Year function at Gawler on Saturday night, 23rd February 2019.

It will be terrific to have our prestigious event at the Gawler venue again this year with the response from those that attended last year very positive.

With Murray Bridge now up and racing GRSA will reintroduce Trial Fees at Angle Park starting from Saturday’s trial session 22nd December.

  • Wednesday Nights from 6.00pm. Will include Qualifying Trials and Satisfactory Trials. Bookings for normal trials online and via phone with GRSA from 11.30am on the Tuesday before.
  • Saturday Mornings from 7.00am. Bookings for trials online and via phone with GRSA from 11.30am the Thursday before.

 

GAWLER –

  • Monday Mornings from 9.00am. No Bookings required for normal trials.
  • Thursday Mornings from 7.00am. No Bookings required for normal trials however this day will include Qualifying trials and Satisfactory trials which will need to be booked by 12.30pm the day prior.

MURRAY BRIDGE –

  • Tuesday Nights from 7.00pm. Will include Qualifying Trials and Satisfactory Trials on a Monthly basis determined by GRSA staff availability and published. Bookings for normal trials online and via phone with GRSA from 11.30am on the Monday before.
  • Friday Mornings from 9.00am. Bookings for trials online and via phone with GRSA from 11.30am the Thursday before.

ANGLE PARK QUALIFYING TRIALS ON WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

Under the new schedule Angle Park Qualifying Trials will be run weekly on Wednesday night, for the corresponding Monday APM meeting (12 days later due to nominations).  With 388m racing now available on Monday night trainers can qualify for all distances.

Wednesday Angle Park Qualifying dates are:

January 2nd (for APM Monday meeting on 14th January)

January 9th (for APM Monday meeting on 21st January)

January 16th (for APM Monday meeting on 28th January)

Nominations close with GRSA at 12.30pm on the Wednesday of the meeting.
