TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

As another month shoots by its time to start to build the bank heading towards December, tonight at headquarters should help us as there appears to be several good things throughout the night. The kennels to follow tonight are the Troy Murray team and the Michael Giniotis kennel, dont forget all races are Trifecta and First Four events.

Race 1 - Aston Marshall was a last start winner over the short at Strathalbyn in quick time and has won over this trip here in the past, he is well drawn and should give them something to catch. Gemtree Dynamo looks the likely improver from his rails draw. Box Up 1.2.3.7.

Race 2 - The Donald Turner kennel has a handy one in Samprass, he charged home to win here last start in a handy 30.10 from box 5 and he should be able to do the same again tonight. Spring Kudu can be hit and miss on box rise but is a must for our Trifecta with his rails draw, add Striking Jewel as our value she will be running on strongly late. Box Up 1.2.3.7.

Race 3 - This is a wide open affair and the main chances look to be Croydon Boys who will be running on late, Crocodile Crush who is on the verge of breaking through here in South Australia and He’s Okay who has the pace to lead. Box Up 1.2.4.6.

Race 4 - The Distance affair and its hard to go past last weeks winner Cairnlea Jet, he went straight to the front here last start and beat Jeebus Bird by over 2 Lengths, they look the Quinella again tonight. On Fire is on the improve and Springvale Cooke are the others for the First Four. Box Up 2.4.7.8.

Race 5 - We will go with the Michael Giniotis pair here in Victa Suzie and Victa Caleb, both have a good turn of early pace with the later being a last start winner from this draw in a smart 30.03 by over 8 Lengths. Agent Thirteen and the pacey Times Right can run into the placings. Box Up 1.2.4.8.

Race 6 - My each way bet of the night is Matriculate for the Kevin Murmane kennel, she has good form from the inside draws and comes off a very handy 2nd here last start when run down in the final stages by Fantastic Chief. Click Here can add value to our Trifecta along with Dyna Adria and Waterloo Kate. Box Up 2.4.5.7.

Race 7 -  I like the inside 4 here all are more than capable on their night with Rachel Zane and Zulu General looking the main chances out of the 4. Larrikin Locky was an Adelaide Cup finalist and is the value runner, he can run a very cheeky race when left alone early. Box Up 1.2.3.4.

Race 8 - We tipped the Tony Rasmussen trained Oshkosh Erny Vee here last week and he led them only to be run down by his kennel mate Born Billy on the line, he appears the likely leader again and let’s hope he can skip away and hold on tonight. Tina’s Magic and Sarina Monelli look the dangers. Box Up 1.2.4.6.

Race 9 - This is the 600m of the night and we tipped Pawesome Nelly over the same trip here last start and she didn’t let us down winning by over 3.50 lengths in a moderate 35.77, she is well drawn again and will be hard to beat again. Box Up 1.2.4.8.

Race 10 - Victa Kylie has been in outstanding form of late with 3 wins from her last 4 starts at Strathalbyn all in handy times, she is making her debut here at headquarters tonight and looks a big chance with her early pace. Hilltop Adel is a definite threat as she will be running on strongly. Box Up 2.6.7.8.

Race 11 - Its always good to go home on a winner and the Ben Rawlings trained Muchachos looks primed to score from his rails draw, the dangers look to be You Send Me and Ticklebelly Flat and Snap Loch who is our big value runner. Box Up 1.2.3.7.

FREE TRIALS AT ANGLE PARK STARTING TONIGHT UNTIL MURRAY BRIDGE RACING

GRSA advises with the transition from Strathalbyn to Murray Bridge to support participants from that region it will be FREE trials at ALL Angle Park trial sessions on Tuesdays & Saturdays starting last Tuesday until Murray Bridge is racing.

It is still important that participants that are trialling advise staff to ensure they are oncourse for their allotted timeslot.
GRSA is also looking at other ways we can assist participants in that region during this time.

MURRAY BRIDGE RACING DATES – FIRST MEETING ON DECEMBER 19

The racing dates for SA greyhounds for the remainder of the 2018/2019 season including Murray Bridge have been released.

Whilst all dates are subsequent to change it is anticipated that the first Murray Bridge meeting will be run on Wednesday, 19th December 2018 meaning that our local schedule will change.  All meetings at Murray Bridge initially will be on the One Turn track with the Straight track anticipated to have its first meeting on Wednesday, 13th February 2019.
GRSA will look to trial at Murray Bridge for about one month and conduct at least one Picnic meeting (Non-TAB) to ensure everything at the venue is working prior to our first meeting on the 19th December.

GRSA appreciates the feedback from participants regarding trialling under the new schedule and would welcome any more feedback before this is reviewed and a trial schedule is released.
A full list of Racing Dates for the 2018/2019 season have been included in Kennel Capers and on the website along with an updated version of the Angle Park and Gawler feature dates which have changed based on the new schedule of racing.

LEIGH ROGERS GRADE 6 FEATURE

GRSA introduced this new race onto the feature race calendar last year in recognition of former long time Food and Beverage Manager, Leigh Rogers, who lost his battle with a rare form of cancer two years ago. Leigh is the husband of Rachael and father of three young girls and it will be great to see them oncourse in recognition of Leigh.

The jackpot will increase from $6,000 to $7,000 if the Gawler Cup this year is not won by Panhandle Slim.
The SA Bred bonus will also be continued; should the winner of the Final be SA Bred, there will be a bonus of $1,000 to the owner and $500 to the breeder.
