TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

With a strong 11 event programme at headquarters tonight there looks to be several good things throughout the evening, as always, all races are First Four and Trifecta events.

Race 1 - The Jan Jones sprinter Star Anise can lead and win despite her poor draw, she has moderate beginners on her inside so we will put her on top. Don Lesta loves this draw and expect a big improvement from him from the rails draw. Box Up 1.4.6.8.

Race 2 - Invictus Nina can finally break her maiden status from the rails draw, she has the pace to kick up early and should prove to strong. King Percy is a newcomer from interstate and must be kept safe on his debut. Box Up 1.4.6.8.

Race 3
- This is a wide open affair so it makes for a terrific First Four race, the main chances look to be Windsome Dylan and Chill Winston with the later from Tasmania and in the powerful Rasmussen kennel, add Just Kenny who has early pace. Box Up 1.2.5.7.

Race 4 - Fly By Them is well drawn and won from here 3 runs back in 30.07, she would be very hard to beat with a repeat performance. Premier Double is very smart when on song and is my top pick he only needs an ounce of luck early to figure. Box Up 1.4.6.7.

Race 5 - The Bill Wudarczyk trained Bailey Rocks looks one of the better bets of the night, she is a class act and should appreciate this company. Allinga Mal has won 4 of his past 5 all in good fashion and is the big danger. Box Up 4.6.7.8.

Race 6 - The 600m event of the night and I like the Brodie Jessup trained Unmistakable, he should jump straight to the front here and be too strong. Motown Kenny charged home to win here last week to beat Private Nangar and will be right in the mix again. Box Up 4.5.7.8.

Race 7 - I like the inside 3 in this, all have different racing styles so it makes for an interesting race. Love Made Me and Come On Enzo are very strong and Larrikin Locky must lead to win, add Breemelia Swift for value. Box Up 1.2.3.6.

Race 8 - The ANZAC DAY FRE FOR ALL and Victa Ashley should start the punters elect, he has been hit and miss in recent runs on box rise but if he steps he wins. Master Chaos will run another cheeky race, he will add some value to our Trifecta. Box Up 3.5.6.7.

Race 9 - Cairnlea Jet returned to the winners circle here last week and should only be improved by the run, he looks the likely leader from the wide draw. Billy’s Bake has been placed in all of his 5 runs at this venue and will be in the mix once again, add Vandagambo who has been placed at the Meadows at his past 2 runs. Box Up 1.2.4.8.

Race 10
- There is a lot of early pace in this so we will go with Hesa Marlow who has been racing well over the short, he needs to jump for a forward showing.
Aston Groucho is very smart when on song and is amongst the main chances along with All About Corey who will be rattling home. Box Up 4.5.7.8.

Race 11 - Zipping Rocket is boxed for a bold showing, the Ben Rawlings sprinter should be able to kick up and hold the early lead. Billy Fix It stormed home to score at Gawler last start and is well favoured by the draw so he is a must for the First Four Box Up 1.2.7.8.

TAUWITCHERE WINS SUPER BONUS AFTER GROUP 3 LAUNCHING PAD WIN LAST THURSDAY
As part of GRSA’s commitment to our local breeders Kirin Corby will also receive $2,500 as the breeder of Tauwitchere which took out the Group 3 Launching Pad last week in Victoria. This comes from the Super Bonus scheme in support of our local breeders winning at Group level throughout Australia. Congratulations to all concerned with the win.

MOUNT GAMBIER TO RACE EVERY THURSDAY AND SUNDAY FROM NEXT MONTH
Mount Gambier will now race every Thursday from 2nd May with the introduction of the G-SIX racing. They will now race twice a week during the 3 month trial on Thursdays and Sundays.

G-SIX RACING STARTS FROM MAY 2
Thursday May 2 kicks off G-SIX racing for a 3 month trial with Angle Park, Gawler and Mount Gambier all racing under those conditions. G-SIX offers more racing at more meetings, cleaner racing with less interference as there are only 6 greyhounds per event, Stakemoney increases to owners and trainers worth more than $1,000,000 and a consistent weekly schedule at our venues.
There will be some exceptions to the G-SIX for feature races with specific feature events not under the G-SIX conditions like the Group 3 Howard Ashton for example.
Participants are encouraged to check the racing calendar for G-SIX events and scheduling and ensure they are aware of the conditions during the 3 month trial.

G-SIX MIXING OF GRADES DURING TRIAL PERIOD
During the trial period of G-SIX the mixing of grades will have to slightly change. For example, normally if we have three Grade 4’s and 10 Grade 5’s (total 13 dogs) the Grader will grade an 8 dog Grade 5 and a 5 dog mixed 4/5. Under G-SIX conditions the Grader will grade a six dog Grade 5 and a six dog mixed 4/5 with one common reserve.

MURRAY BRIDGE STRAIGHT TRACK TO NOW START IN JUNE 2019
GRSA had intended for the Murray Bridge Straight Track to commence racing in early May 2019 however due to more trialling required at the venue to bed down processes and procedures this has been delayed by one month.
GRSA will look to provide more trialling opportunities on the Straight Track in the coming weeks before running a Picnic meeting in early June prior to the first meeting.
GRSA will continue the fortnightly Murray Bridge meeting on the One Turn track on Wednesdays however due to the introduction of G-Six from 2nd May 2019 and being responsive to current nomination numbers the Murray Bridge meeting will rotate with Angle Park on this day. Murray Bridge will now race a TAB meeting on Wednesday 8th May rather than the Picnic meeting.
Date changes are listed below -
Add: Murray Bridge – Wednesday 8th May 2019  (TAB) Day
Add: Angle Park – Wednesday 15nd May 2019  (TAB) Day
Delete: Murray Bridge – Wednesday 15th May 2019  (TAB) Day
Add: Angle Park – Wednesday 29th May 2019  (TAB) Day
Delete: Murray Bridge – Wednesday 29th May 2019  (TAB) Day
It is anticipated when the Straight Track comes onto the racing calendar in June that it will replace the One Turn Track at Murray Bridge on the fortnightly Wednesday and continue to rotate with Angle Park in the initial stages.
