Angle Park Preview - Thursday 18th October 2018
by The Shadow
With only the 10 races here at headquarters tonight we will need to get on to a winner early, the Rasmussen kennel should have a very good night, so they are worth following. Don’t forget all races are Trifecta and First Four Events so good luck.
Race 1 - I like one in this at each way odds in Crocodile Crush, we tipped him last week at his first SA start and he wasn’t disgraced when 4th behind the inform Mepunga Gal, he should improve and run a cheeky race. Staunch As is a pacey type and will be right in the finish. Box Up 2.5.6.7.
Race 2 - The Maiden of the night and we will go with the well-drawn Spring Rodney down in box 1, he has been placed here in recent weeks and appears one of the better chances. Samprass and Victa Charlie can fill the placings. Box Up 1.5.6.7.
Race 3 - The Clint Trengove chaser in Stich ‘Em Cilla can bounce back in this after a horror run last week when checked from pillar to post, she should be able to kick up early and will take beating. Another Vader and Ticklebelly Flat also have claims and can’t be overlooked. Box up 1.2.4.8.
Race 4 - Tricky race with several chances, they look to be Love Made Me from box 1, My Boy Tyler and the pacey Oshkosh Erny Vee out on the 7 with the later running a very good 3rd here last week behind Smart Knocka in quick time. Box Up 1.4.6.7.
Race 5 - The old fellow Mr. Arjay who is having his 134th start tonight is my top pick in this, he certainly knows the track well and his draw of 7 helps his chances. Emerley Nolen can be hit and miss on box rise and will be doing his best work late. Add Jay’s Ace who can pinch a place once again. Box up 2.6.7.8.
Race 6 - Tina’s Magic is one of the better bets of the night, she led and was run down from this draw last start in handy time and can go one better in this for the Johnstone kennel. Meehan Sox can improve and we can’t leave out Nut Allergy who has been racing well. Box Up 2.3.6.8.
Race 7 - The 2 main chances appear to be Madam Onyx and Cappuccino in this both can be tardy on box rise but when on song have their fair share of ability, they are a must for our First Four. Add Come On Loopy who has good form from inside draws. Box Up 1.3.5.8.
Race 8 - Nations can bounce back tonight and looks far too good for these, he is a class act on his night and can carve out some very slick times out in front. Rachel Zane has won her past 2 here and should be able to run into the placings once again. Master Chaos ran home well to finish 5th in last weeks Adelaide Cup final and should be doing the same again here. Box Up 2.3.5.8.
Race 9 - This is the Distance event of the night and we tipped Cairnlea Jet here last week and he failed to fire, he can bounce back tonight from the inside draw. Jeebus Bird has struck form with 2 strong wins in recent weeks and should be right in the finish once again. On Fire and Springvale Cooke both are strong and will be doing their best work late. Box Up 1.3.4.7.
Race 10 - We can go home on a winner with Coffee King in the Tony Rasmussen kennel, he won here last start leading throughout for a strong 30.11 win from box 8, he won from this draw 4 runs back and should be too strong. Ballinderry Girl and Tyche Onyx can add some value to our Trifecta. Box Up 1.4.5.8.

2018 DAISH IRRIGATION & FODDER STRATHALBYN CUP FINAL SUNDAY
After five fabulous heats last Sunday, the $14,285 Daish Irrigation & Fodder Strathalbyn Cup Final this Sunday looks to be a fitting highlight for the Clubs last ever race meeting.
The Club has drawn together an outstanding field for their final meeting with a huge crowd expected to attend the Southern Greyhound Raceway on Sunday. It’s going to be beautiful conditions on the weekend so no reason not to attend. Tuesday heat winners were Cawbourne Swade for Lisa Rasmuusen who debut from NSW with a good win in 31.20 while Shima Breeze for Tony Rasmussen led all the way in a handy 31.09. Reiko Rocketta fresh from her SA Country Cup win on Adelaide Cup night ran 31.19 for Troy Murray while Wynburn Geri showed her class for Ryan Tugwell running a handy 31.45. Fastest qualifier was the Greg Board trained Spring Bridge who ran a sizzling 30.88, however, he has been done no favours in the box draw drawing the pink. Greg had better luck with Spring Bloom who qualified as the 8th greyhound into the Final and will have the chance to defend her title she won almost 12 months ago.
The Cup Final will be race 8 on Sunday due to start at 8.24pm (SA time). Coverage for this meeting on the night will be on Sky Racing 1 for all 11 races except race 2 which will be on Sky Racing 2. The first race will be run at 5.50pm with the last at 9.22pm.
