TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

Tonight, looks a mixture over the sprint and the 600m and on paper appears a very tough night on the punt but the upside is the Trifectas and First Fours should be our value, so we will concentrate very hard on those throughout the evening.

Race 1 - It’s a toughie to kick the night off with but I’m leaning towards the well-drawn Mepunga Gal, she has drawn the rails and is more than capable with early luck. Oshkosh Erny Vee is quick early and should set the early pace and is a chance of pinching this if there is early trouble. Box Up 1.5.6.8.

Race 2 - With only the 3 runners after scratchings Spring Rodney can finally break through after 11 tries, he will be running on well and should go close. Firestone Alley and Woodside Coco in order. In Order 4.1.8.

Race 3 - The first of the 600m and the Ryan Tugwell  trained Wynburn Geri is working up to a win and was very impressive when 2nd behind her kennel mate Max Jake here last start in quick time. Why That is stepping up to the 600m here and has been running on well over the sprint in recent starts and should run a cheeky race. Box Up all the evens 2.4.6.8.

Race 4 - Nations flew home here last week over the sprint after finding a heap of early trouble and finished 6th behind Larrikin Locky, he steps out to the 600m and his class alone makes him the best bet of the night. Bell Of Eden and Destini Rocket can run into the placings. Box Up 1.5.7.8.

Race 5 - I like the inside 3 in this, Just Ruby and Madam Onyx can be hit and miss on box rise but are very strong where Come On Loopy has early pace and is a big chance of pinching this but does get tired in the run home. Add Blessed In Black who is yet to win after 13 attempts and has finished in the placings in 6 of them. Box Up 1.2.3.7.

Race 6 - Merindah is the form runner having won her last 6 over the short and the 515m, she is quick early and very hard to tip against. Cawbourne Swade has his fair share of ability and can run into the money. Add Ivy Murial and Data Queen. Box Up 1.4.5.6.

Race 7 - The Ben Rawlings kennel looks to have a strong chance with Muchachos in box 5, he has won 3 of his past 5 and should be right in the finish in this. All About Corey will be running on strongly but is a very average beginner. Chaddy Whacker can add some value to our pick Four. Box Up 1.4.5.7.

Race 8 - This is my each way value runner of the night and that is Fantastic Chief in box 3, he should get a nice run into the 1st turn with quick beginners on his inside, he is very strong and will be running on. Metallic Zip won here last start from box 6 and should be able to pinch a place in a very open affair. Box Up 1.3.4.8.

Race 9 - This is definitely the highlight of the night and the book ends are the main chances, Honcho Monelli was very smart when winning the Gawler Cup Final defeating kennel mate Shima Breeze on a heavy track. Fabwik returned to form with a win here last start in a slick 29.73 from this draw and is the big danger again. Box Up 1.5.7.8.

Race 10 - Looking for value in this so we will go with the Vadim Roz trained Another Vader, he is very strong and is back to the sprint tonight with an ounce of early luck he might find himself in a handy position into the back. Spring Kuda was a last start winner over the 600m and is another who isn’t blessed with early pace, he should start the punters elect and is amongst the main chances. Box Up 3.4.5.8 in a tough event.

Race 11 - Let’s hope we can go home on a winner with the Jan Jones trained Star Anise down in box 1, she has won her past 2 here and Gawler in good fashion and appears to have a handy future. Karaoke Party and Snap Loch can fill the placings. Box Up 1.4.5.6.
