TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

Racing here at headquarters tonight we have a 12 event programme and throughout the evening there looks to be a bit of value in certain races, we had a strong night here last Thursday so lets hope we can continue on the same theme and back a few at reasonable odds. Don’t Forget all races are Trifecta and First Four events.

Race 1 - It’s a tricky one to kick off with as they all have a chance with early luck, I will go with Eedee Keepsake who is in outstanding form, she has won her last 4 here and should be at each way odds. Victa Caleb is well drawn and should start the punters elect he is a must for the Trifecta, add Better Dream and Tornado Alley who was a huge winner here last start. Box Up 1.2.4.5

Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the night and we will stick with Right Exit who has been a bit costly on the old hip pocket in recent weeks, she should be able to lead here and pinch this. Blue Ash will be running on as will Long Gully Fred. Box Up 2.4.5.8

Race 3 - Fantastic Axel loves a wide draw and on his recent efforts should prove far too good in this, we will make him one of the best bets of the night. Blastoise is in fine form with 3 wins from his last 5 here, he has good early pace and can certainly run in the top 3. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 4 - There are several runners who are making their 600m debut tonight and with luck they can run the Quinella, they are American Man who is our top pick and Emmy Gray, both have been racing well in strong company and the extra distance should suit. Victa Boris and City Limit Sign have handy form over this trip and should run into the First Four. Box Up 1.4.6.8

Race 5 - Spring Spinner is in the well-travelled Nicole Stanley kennel, he has been placed at his last 2 runs at Mount Gambier, he will need to begin from the wide draw and is very strong, he looks a good each way chance in a tough affair. Gemtree Dynamo is well drawn and can give this a big shake along with Spring Taylor who will be working late. Box Up 1.4.5.7

Race 6 - Alpha Aion cruised to an easy 4L win here last start in 30.03, he has the pace to lead from here and should go close again. Allinga Mal has been hit and miss of late on box rise but should be able to kick up and run into the placings from the handy draw. Come On Enzo loves to run a place and can do so again in this. Box Up 1.4.6.8

Race 7 - Coorong Lucy has won her last 6 all in quick times, she will start a very short price favourite tonight and should win again. Sweet Ella is drawn to run into the money again as is Billy Fix It. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 8 - This is the Distance affair of the night and Sir Truculent is drawn to run a bold race, he will be running home late but needs to improve his box manners. Dyna Quota loves this venue, she won at the Mount last start but will need to be on the pace early from the wide draw, add Holy Reign who is likely to lead again along with Sale Graze Bindi for the minors. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 9 - This certainly in a wide open affair so there should be plenty of value in it, Main Exit is my top pick, she has been hit and miss of late, she has moderate beginners on her inside and might be able to lead. Long Gully Barny won here last start in 30.01 and has early pace if he can cross would be hard to beat. Box Up 4.5.7.8

Race 10 - Fantastic Yankee is all class when on the lure, he has a heap of pace around him and is a must for the Trifecta. Box Up 1.2.4

Race 11 - Another value event with several hopes, I like the well-drawn Emerley Zero down in box 1, he has early pace and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him lead all the way. Allinga Jess will be around the mark as will Firetail. Box Up 1.4.5.7

Race 12 - Song An Stories has been off the seen since early last month, he had very good form prior to arriving here in SA and is sure to improve from the draw. Left Exit needs to improve and only looks a place bet. Close Your Eyes and Where’s Sparky for the minors. Box up 1.2.4.7

2020 GAWLER PRODUCE STAKES

The 2020 Gawler Produce Stakes will be run by GRSA in conjunction with the Gawler Greyhound Racing Club.

In 2020 we will again be offering additional incentives for trainers to nominate. A bonus will be offered to any greyhound which can win both the Produce Stake and the Gawler Gold Cup.
