TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

The terrific racing continues tonight at headquarters with the running of the Auction Series Final (race 8) on the programme, this event carries a $16,000 the winner cheque. There certainly is a heap of chances so it will make for a good First Four and Trifecta event. The kennel to follow is the Troy Murray team.

Race 1 - It’s a toughie to kick off with and the Gavin Harris sprinter Dashing Mickey has more than her fair share of ability, she can be hit and miss early but is very strong. Main Exit looks a good Each Way chance, she won here 2 runs back in 30.15 then found trouble when unplaced at her latest run, and she is well drawn and is a chance of leading. Box Up 1.4.7.8

Race 2 - McLaren Dazzler is working towards a win, he wasn’t disgraced when 3rd here last start after being hampered early, the draw suits and should go very close tonight. Bundoran is a newcomer from N.S.W she has only had the 3 runs and is yet to be placed, she trialled fairly and appears a place hope. Add Gargantuan Boy who has early pace for the Trifecta. Box Up 1.2.5.8

Race 3 - Swift Timing is in terrific form for the Murray kennel, she won at Cannington WA last start in 30.06 and is drawn to salute again. Sweet Ella led everywhere bar the post here last week when a narrow 2nd in good time and she looks the main danger here, add Up Time Girl for value. Box Up 1.4.5.8

Race 4 - The Rasmussen kennel looks to have another handy one in No Passengers, he flew the lids to lead throughout on debut and score in 29.99, and he can only improve and is our top pick. Matty Mateusz is an EX Victorian who has 11 wins from his 58 starts, he has mixed form but is sure to be well tried on his SA debut. Box Up 1.2.5.8

Race 5 - This is the Distance affair of the night and a very tough one at that. Love Made Me has terrific 600m form but is stepping up to the 731m tonight she should be in it for a long way. Sale Graze Bindi looks suited to the staying trip. The value runner is Dyna Allice who will stick on all day. Box Up 2.4.5.7

Race 6 - Master Chaos can return to the winner’s circle tonight, he has been in outstanding form over the 600m in recent weeks and drops back to the sprint here. Whata Key charged late to win in 29.92 last start and will be hard to beat again from the draw. Box up1.2.7.8

Race 7 - Come Home showed good pace to lead over the 600m but was run down late when 3rd, he has won here in quick times in the past over the sprint and will take a power of beating in this. Gemtree Dynamo is in good form and is definite for our Trifecta. Box Up 1.2.5.8.

Race 8 - This is the $16,000 Final and the Clint Trengove kennel has 3 runners and hold a very strong hand, the pick of theirs is last start winner Stitch Em Cilla out in box 8, she ran on well to win here in 30.13 from box 7 and is drawn for a bold showing again. Stitch ‘Em Walks along with Right Above It are worth putting in the First Four. Box Up 1.4.6.8.

Race 9 - There looks to be several chances here and we will go with the newcomer Cawbourne Hunter, he has only had the 6 starts in N.S.W for a win and 4 placings he is in the powerful Rasmussen kennel and can go close on debut. King Percy is very smart when on song and is drawn for a bold showing and can’t be overlooked. Box Up 1.5.7.8.

Race 10 - I mentioned earlier that the Murray kennel would have a handy night and they can go close with Spring Cuervo in this, he is well drawn and trialled here in 30.12 and should be able to kick up early in the run. Emerley Zero will find this a lot easier than recent starts and a win wont surprise. Box Up 1.2.4.5.

Race 11 - River Racer hasn’t had a lot of luck in recent runs and gets her chance to run into the money here. Stitch ‘Em Dolly and Stitch ‘Em Panda for the minors. Box Up 2.4.7.8.

Race 12 - We tipped him last start and that is Spring Kudu and he dwelt on box rise and finished 4th , he can bounce back in this and should nearly lead. Detroit Wally is a veteran of 78 starts and is making his debut here in SA, he doesn’t have huge stats but is worth putting in the First Four. Box Up 2.4.5.8.

On Saturday night Alicante Bouchet for trainer Ben Rawlings has qualified for the Listed Winter Cup Final at Cannington. She has drawn box 4 in race 6 and after a good run in the heats where she ran second by a nose after leading most of the way she should give the Sandgroppers something to chase.

FUTURITY PAYMENTS DUE THIS MONTH

Owners of SA Bred greyhounds are reminded that the next batch of Futurity payments are due on Friday, 28th June 2019. There will be three series’ for which payments will need to be made.

The payments due are:

Classic 2019 – Final Payment - Pups Born July 17 to Dec 17
This payment is for greyhounds for which the first two Sustaining Payments have been made. The Final Payment is $121 per greyhound.

Breeders 2020 – Second Payment - Pups Born Jan 18 to June 18
This payment is for greyhounds for which the first Sustaining Payment was made last December. The Second Sustaining Payment is $55 per pup or a Final Payment of $121 can be made at this stage.

Classic 2020 – First Payment - Pups Born July 18 to Dec 18
The First Payment is due for Classic 2020. All SA Bred greyhounds born in the above period are eligible to make this payment. The First Payment is $27.50 per pup or a “one-off” Final payment of $121 can be made at this stage.
To assist all owners of Futurity eligible pups, reminders have been sent out earlier this week. It is perhaps a good idea to make the payment as soon as you can, so it doesn’t slip your mind and the closing date passes. If you have sold a pup/s we would ask if you can either forward on the information or let Caralyn Fielden know at GRSA and she can follow it up. If you haven’t received a reminder by the end of this week and you think you should have, contact us asap.

LICENSE RENEWALS ARE NOW DUE

Please be advised that your licence renewal is NOW DUE. We have sent out renewals to those requiring updating their licence electronically via email (please check your junk mail as well) and by post.
Please check your licence card to confirm the expiry date.
It is vital that you licence before the cut of time to ensure no greyhounds will miss a run. As an example, it you are nominating for any race meeting in July, you would want to have renewed by Friday, 21st June to guarantee no issues.
Check with owners locally and from Interstate as this has been an issue in recent years and get their licences renewed by this date.

Please contact the GRSA Integrity Department for queries or questions.
