Angle Park Preview - November 28th 2019
by The Shadow
Tonight’s racing looks to be very wide open so it should make for a good night on the punt, the highlight is the 2019 Brian Johnstone Final ( race 8 ) and it carries a very healthy $25,000 to the winner cheque, we also have a 600m and 731m on the 12 event card. As always all races are Trifecta and First Four events.
Race 1 - Alfieri returned to the winner’s circle with a smart win at Murray Bridge last start leading throughout, he is very smart and looks well suited in this. Two Times Twice is a newcomer from the West and must be included in our Trifecta. Box Up 1.4.5.7
Race 2 - This is very tricky as they all can be hit and miss early, My Bro Rocks is a big type and will be running on. Right Exit has been knocking on the door and is very close to breaking through. Chedwick gets his chance from the rails draw, he can begin on his night and might be able to pinch this at Each Way odds. Box Up 1.2.4.7
Race 3 - The Rasmussen kennel rarely goes home without a winner and Shadow Burner can collect the bickies for them in this, he has only had the 3 starts and with moderate beginners around him he might handy early. Westrock Outlaw is a must from his draw for the First Four along with Springvale Issy. Box Up 1.4.7.8
Race 4 - Wally Harkins has Sir Truculent racing in peak form over the journey and he looks the one to beat again in this, he will be storming home late to salute. Sale Graze Bindi can take up the early lead and can run into the places. Dyna Alice has been placed in 3 of her 6 runs over this trip and appears a First Four hope. Box Up 2.5.7.8
Race 5 - This is a very smart 600m affair and I lean towards Aston Chandon despite her ordinary draw, she has won her past 2 over the sprint in quick times and is making her 600m debut here. Canya Queen should start the punters elect, she is well drawn and is another with good sprint form. Holy Reign is dropping back in distance here and will give plenty of cheek. Box Up 1.2.3.5
Race 6 - Wild Marilyn has handy short course form, she has won her past 2 here and Gawler in quick times, she steps up tonight over more ground and is sure to prove hard to beat. Instantaneous is my pick and Each Way odds, he is from WA and has won 13 of 38 along with 9 placings, his recent record should make him very competitive 1st up in SA. Box Up 3.4.6.7
Race 7 - Fantastic Axel is my top pick in this tough affair, he pinged the lids here last start to win in 29.76 BON, he will need to do the same again tonight to beat Coorong Lucy who has won her past 8 leading throughout on nearly every occasion. Tornado Alley and Times Right for the First Four. Box Up 1.3.6.8
Race 8 - This certainly is a wide open Final and as mentioned it carries $25,000 to the winner, the main chances look to be Corbett who has won his past 2 here in good fashion, he is very smart when on the lure. Kisses For Chloe if steps is the one to beat, she is in form and might be able to pinch this early. Miss Bellawood will be carving across from her wide draw, she has won 3 from 5 here and is amongst the main chances. Box Up 3.4.6.7
Race 9 - Main Exit was a handy run here last when 2nd behind Where’s Sparky, she has a chance of leading tonight and will go close from the draw. Golden Kruger has won her last 3 at Gawler and Murray Bridge, she is making her city debut tonight and must be included in the multiple. Cuddles Lee is our value runner and my roughie of the night, she might be able to pinch this if able to lead at good odds. Box Up 2.4.5.8
Race 10 - Lets hope we are well in front by this stage and we will have a wager on Collecting from box 2, he continues to be hit and miss on box rise but did win from this draw 3 starts back. Hello I’m Jade has terrific form and her early pace will be a huge help, add Modest Lee for the Trifecta. Box Up 2.4.5.7
Race 11 - The Rawlings kennel could have a big night if In The Clear gets up, he appears very hard to beat from the rails draw and is amongst the main chances. Herculean is a tardy beginner but will be running on late along with Castle Ruins who will only improve. Box Up 1.2.5.7.
Race 12 - It’s a toughie like the whole night to go home on and we will go with the Don Turner trained Rouge, he is very capable with an ounce of luck early and should take beating. Classy Blaze has terrific Gawler form over the short collecting a cheque at her last 3 starts. Box Up 1.4.5.8

MOUNT GAMBIER BACK RACING ON BOXING DAY IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE
GRSA advises that Mount Gambier will be back racing on Thursday 26th December 2019 in the twilight zone thanks to the support of Sky Racing and staffing availabilities.
GRSA appreciates boxing day is one of the busiest days of the year for racing and is thankful that Sky Racing has been able to allocate a twilight timeslot in support of the club which should attract industry and patron support. GRSA has also been able to secure veterinary services on this day and appreciate local staff for their attendance in ensuring this meeting can be conducted.
