Angle Park Preview - July 16th 2020
by The Shadow
Tonight we have three very good heats of the 2020 SA Champion Puppy (races 4 to 6) it should make for a very interesting final next week, other highlights for the night is a top class open event, race 7, and a full field over the 731m which looks wide open. It will make for a terrific betting affair and as always all races are Trifecta and First Four events.
Race 1 - It’s a tricky one to kick the night off with as Yarindale should start the punters elect but he has been hit and miss of late, if he steps he will be hard to beat. We will have a little wager on Adios McLaren down in box 2 at each way odds, he is a last start winner and with luck should be close enough early. Goods Odds Diana has pace and is a must for our First Four. Box Up 2.5.6.8
Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the night and we will go with the Ben Rawlings trained youngster Spofforth, he made good ground when 2nd here last week and can only be improved by the run. Springvale Cher is better than recent form suggests and Fake Forecast is well bred. Box Up 1.3.6.8
Race 3 - Threaten won here two runs back in a smart 29.95 from a rails draw by over 5L, then was a handy 3rd after missing the kick, he looks well placed here and is amongst the main chances. Fantastic Shell is the likely improver and Cripps Dusty is a big chance of running into the placings at big odds. Box Up 1.4.6.8
Race 4 - The first of the Champion Puppy Heats and we will go with Bangor Sophia, she is a pacey type who won two on the trot here last month then found a heap of trouble here last week when unplaced, she can lead and win. Zinfandel Tori has terrific short course form and should be ready for the step up in distance. Box up 1.5.7.8
Race 5 - Major Major is the most experienced runner in the field with 23 starts, he has been racing well of late and should prove hard to beat. Coorong Nugget was a last start winner here in good fashion, he has good box speed and is the danger. Add Oakvale Blue for the Trifecta. Box Up 2.4.5.7
Race 6 – The final heat and Express Eve has kicked started her career with 4 wins from just the 5 starts, all over the short, she is in great form and should be well primed for the extra distance. Oakvale Style will find this a lot easier than his recent starts and will be very hard to beat, she is very strong and if able to lead can carve out quick times. Box up 1.4.5.7
Race 7 - How good is this event, Coorong Lucy recent runs over the 600m have been top class, she is in outstanding form and continues on her winning way all in slick times, she will be very hard to beat once again. It’s A Riot is slowly working back to his best form, he found trouble here last week and is drawn for a forward showing. Shadow Mist cruised to an easy 5L win here in a BON 29.58 last start from box 7, he is another who is in top form, add Ashby Mayhem to round out our First Four. Box Up 1.2.6.7
Race 8 - This is the distance affair of the night and we will stick with Miss Bellawood, she jumped straight to the front here last week and won by over 12L in a handy 43.17, she is the likely leader again and will be hard beat. Toora Ziggy thundered home over the 600m and was beaten a nose behind Coorong Lucy, he steps up tonight and is amongst the main chances. Add My Boy Bean and Boom Down. Box Up 1.3.4.6
Race 9 - Up Time Girl is a pacey type, she has been racing well and has finished in the money at her last three runs, she is a chance of pinching this with luck. Winlock Huddy is the swooper, he ran a game 2nd behind Hot Sambuca here last start from a wide draw and will be right in the mix again. Oakvale Warrior is very smart on his night and can’t be overlooked. Box up 2.4.5.8
Race 10 - My roughie of the night is Boss Three Fifty, he was a last start winner at Murray Bridge over the 455m, he can be hit and miss on box rise but if he leads $$$ will be coming our way. Danyo’s Rosie is well drawn and is more than capable of running another cheeky race along with Zipping Ted who was a BON winner at his last start. Box Up 1.2.5.7
Race 11 - Little Earner will appreciate the drop back in grade, she has been racing against a lot tougher company and can send us home on a winning note. American Man was an eye catching run at his latest effort, he loves to scout wide and watch him late. I’m Top Girl has the gun draw. Box Up 1.2.4.8
