TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

Tonight’s 10 event card we have the final of the 2020 Eater Cup over the 600m, the quality of the field is certainly top class and it carries over $5,000 to the winner. We can continue our winning way as we have done in recent weeks and set ourselves up for a handy Easter at HOME. I’m saving money hand over fist as I’m not visiting the local so we can spend up tonight and back a few more winners. HAPPY EASTER…

Race 1 - Spring Vinnie missed the kick here last start but flashed home late for a very nice 2nd, he is boxed to win tonight and can start the night for us in a very good fashion, Spirit Of Pop will add a bit of value to our Trifecta and First Four as will Conner Peruzzi. Box Up 1.2.4.9

Race 2 - The well named Tax Deduction appears the measuring stick in this he was far too strong for them here last start when winning by over 6L in a quick BON 29.92, he is well drawn and is our top pick, Bazza’s Babe has handy short course form she is getting stronger and looks a place hope, add Psychotic Sky and Aston Opal. Box Up 1.3.4.6

Race 3 – This is the Match Race series. This is certainly a very good betting affair for the overall as there are several chances. Alfieri is our top pick as he is the class runner of the field and can run quick times. Cairnlea Ebony is resuming from a spell and while he might be beaten by Alfieri he can run second overall on times. I also like in the other matches Two Times Twice, Wooden Tiger and It’s  A Riot. Box up 1.2.3.7 for the overall

Race 4 - Robyn Mackellar always has a handy one in her kennel and Ragin Soldier looks to have a bright future, he is a pacey type who should ping straight to the front here and take holding out. Ebby Cruiser is another similar type who will be right on the early pace and should figure in the top 3. Box Up 1.2.4.7

Race 5 - This is an open affair with Tammy Parker doing her best work late and Diamond Lee loves to lead and run a place. Box Up 3.4.7.8

Race 6 - There are several chances here but I will stick with Spring Cobra who has been missing the start in recent weeks, he is a very smart performer but makes it tough for himself and his supporters he should get a good run to the 1st turn and hopefully be too strong. Cairnlea Pebbles is a handy type, she looks the likely leader and is certainly amongst the main chances. See You Smile and Love First can figure for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.3.4

Race 7 – Only 4 dogs left so we will go with Jazzy Footluce, Feelin, Herculean and Bailey Rocks in order. In Order 4.7.6 & 8

Race 8 - This is the final of the 2020 Easter Cup over the 600m there certainly are several chances and I’m sure they will run quick time with a clear run. Zipping Galon will only improve from his 2nd here last week that was his 1st start for over a month and he should be cherry ripe for tonight’s Final. Oakvale Magic will strip fitter and Dracarys is in hot form with 3 wins on the trot. Box Up 2.5.6.7

Race 9 - With only the 4 runners here over the journey Sir Truculent can make it 5 on end, he loves a small field and is so strong over this trip he should sit on them early then cruise to the lead and win. Kiranna Blue and My Boy Bean can fill the top 3. 1 from 7 and 5

Race 10 - We go home on a 600m and with only 3 runners left Ask Me Now looks very hard to beat. He should beat Spectral Blade and Dyna Artist in that order. In  order 4.2.1

Best Bets

Race 2 No: 3 - Tax Deduction

Race 8 No: 2 - Zipping Galon

Best Roughie

Race 3 No: 7 - It’s A Riot
