Angle Park Preview
The highlight of the week for me had to be yesterday’s meeting at headquarters when we saw two quality pups battle it out to the finish in Marlow Brown and She’s A Looper. They cleared out from the rest of the field and She’s A Looper proved too strong in the concluding stages and carved out a sensational 29.54 run. Marlow Brown only went down by just over a length after leading early and both are sure to be meeting each other in feature events in the future.
Now on to tonight’s 10 events and there are a couple I like at each way odds. Several races look very evenly matched so that will add some value for the Trifectas and First Fours.
Race 1 and the pacey Quite Contrary has won her past two here and at Gawler and should bounce straight to the front again and prove too strong. Antonio Tyson can add a bit of value from box 1 and can’t be left out. Add in Margaret Keeping for the top 3. Box Up 1.2.4.6
Race 2 and this is a very open affair with a heap of chances. I am going for pace in Long Gully Magic, he has won 3 of his last 5 at Gawler and will be right in the mix. Both Aston Tulloch and Zana Bale to be right in the mix. Box Up 2.4.7.8 in a terrific betting affair.
Race 3 and I’m not here to repeat myself and yes this is another even event. I am going with Kalispell in the awkward draw of 4 but he has been racing against some more than handy ones here in recent weeks and should give them something to catch with luck early. Lucky Road looks the improver from box 3 as he will be running on. Always Winnie won from this draw 3 runs back and is a must for the Trifecta. Box Up 2.3.4.8.
The fourth and the outside brigade looks one the main chances. Two have pace and the other who is Genghis Kahn will be charging home over the last 100m. Heliski looks the best of the rest drawn down in box 1. Box Up 1.6.7.8
This is the 600m event of the night and the two stand outs look to be Cyclone Clifford from box 4 and Placid Planet in the 6. They aren’t blessed with a heap of early pace but should be in the leading bunch into the straight the first time. Billy Blue Eyes for veteran trainer Johnny Gail (sorry John) will be working home late and has been in the money in 15 of his 22 starts over this trip. Is a chance again. Box Up 4.5.6.7.
Race 6 and this is another tight affair with Temalor and Wheel Spinner looking the main hopes. Both have drawn well and I am leaning towards Wheel Spinner as he might be able to lead but don’t hold me to that. The other chances will be coming from the pacey Peejay Jack and Astone Kane. Box Up 1.3.4.6.
Race 7 and one of the better bets of the night is Wave To Kirra. She has only had 2 runs here in SA and led throughout here last week for a 29.93 win. She has a good turn of early pace and looks very hard to beat again. Match Winner should make it the best quinella of the night as he has been in the money in 8 of his 9 career starts. Box up 1.2.3.6.
Race 8 and this race isn’t as easy as it looks as there are several chances but I will stick with the in- form Gun McBain. He has notched up 4 wins from his last 5 runs all in good times and is boxed for a bold showing once again. The big danger is Wild Soul once balanced he showed his rivals a clean set of paws and won in an outstanding 29.69 from box 5. Box Up 2.3.6.8.
The 9th and pace and good form come in to calculations in this event and it all heads to Kilter Bale. He can ping to the front from the wide draw and hang on. The swooper should be coming from Shana Allen and Barossa Kid. Box Up 2.5.6.7
Race 10 looks to be a one act affair if Allinga Val continues her form. She has only had the two starts and carved out a 29.94 win here last week from box 5, defeating the classy She’s A Looper. On that run she wins. We can add in Allen Odyssey for the placings along with Nissan Bale. Box Up 3 from 2.4.8.

LUNA JINX AND SPRINGVALE CLINT CHASE BOLD TREASE GLORY
Tomorrow night at Sandown both high quality local stayers Luna Jinx and Springvale Clint will compete in the heats of the Group 1 Bold Trease Stayers Cup. Trained by Gavin Harris Luna Jinx will be one of the favourites in the first heat after her brilliant two weeks ago. She has drawn box 2 with her main danger being It’s A Plane in box 8. It will be race 3 tomorrow night due to start at 7.19pm.
In race 4 due to start at 7.38pm kennel mate Springvale Clint will also look to qualify after drawing box 6 however his chances have been greatly improved with the withdrawal of $1million stayer Sweet It Is who is in season. Springvale Clint is one of the most improved chasers in SA and will definitely be a strong contender.
With 4 heats of the Bold Trease the first 2 in each heat will qualify for next Friday nights Group 1 Final on Friday 20th November.
As an added bonus tomorrow night at Sandown there will be 8 terrific heats of the rich Group 1 Melbourne Cup so all races tomorrow night are not to be missed.

QUALY TRIALS RETURN TO GAWLER WITH EMERLEY PARK BEING AVAILABLE
GRSA have completed a review of trial days at Gawler and have now implemented the following changes as a result of the return to trialling at Emerley Park. The introduction of Monday morning trials at Gawler was to compensate for the loss of the Hurley facility.
1. Commencement of Trials at Emerley Park on Monday’s as from 16 November 2015 between 8.30am and 10.00am
2. Cancellation of Trials at Gawler on Monday’s, last trial session 9 November 2015
3. Re introduction of a steward for Wednesday trial nights as from 18 November 2015
Emerley Park wish to advise participants that flexibility will be available for trainers for breaking in/education and trials. Furthermore as we move into the summer months starting times will be changed and advertised. Trials will be at a cost of $6.00 with use of the follow on or straight arm lures.
STRATHALBYN TRIALS
During the Southern GRC committee meeting last tonight the committee decided that due to lack of support and working commitments of staff who make trials possible, that as a club we can no longer offer Wednesday trials to participants effective immediately.
We understand the inconvenience that may arise to some regular trainers who attended and we wish to thank them for supporting this service we provided.
Trials will be now held every Friday when we are NOT racing on that Friday.
Qualifying trials to follow the week after first race meeting for the month.
We will allow for trials, following race meetings with a maximum of 8 (to be kennelled at kennelling time into race block 11.) These needs to be rang through to Tony Rasmussen or Renee Eastwood from the Club, (following eligibility guidelines agreed with Paul Marks)
2016 GAWLER PRODUCE STAKES
The 2015 Gawler Produce Stakes will be run by GRSA in conjunction with the Gawler Greyhound Racing Club. Once again we will offer guaranteed Final Stakemoney, which will be $22,000. The estimate for the total series prizemoney is $40,000, based on this year’s series. The series is for greyhounds whelped in 2014.
In 2016 we will again be offering additional incentives for trainers to nominate. A bonus will be offered to any greyhound which can win both the Produce Stake and the Gawler Gold Cup.
The jackpot is currently worth $11,000. A jackpot of $1,000 will be added each year until won, when it will revert to $5,000. Mrs Bubbles will be shooting for the jackpot if she can win the Gawler Cup final on Sunday 1st November.
The SA Bred bonus will also be continued; should the winner of the Final be SA bred, there will be a SA Bred bonus of $1,000 to the owner.
The dates for this series will be Heats on Tuesday 28th June 2016, Semi Finals on Tuesday 5th July 2016 and the Final on Sunday 10th July 2016. There will be a breeders bonus of $500 for the winner of the Final and a consolation event also.
GRSA administers the event for the Club, so all payments are to be made to GRSA. The fees are, with the one-off payment option $121.00 or the sustaining option at $33 (first), $55 (second) and $88 (Final).
Nomination Forms will be available shortly, along with the full list of conditions and the payment schedule. We will be sending out forms to those with eligible greyhounds as well as previous supporters of the race.
* Nominations for the 2016 Gawler Produce will close on Friday 20th November with GRSA.
