Angle Park Preview

Racing News

With only 10 races tonight we will need to be on song early and jump to an early lead by backing a few winners early.  There are several highlights throughout the night and they start in races 3, 5, 7 and 8 all look to be a cracker with some quality pups gracing the track. If you are looking for a kennel to follow tonight go with Petar Jovanovic kennel as he has several runners throughout the night who look big chances.

Race 1 and Kiss The Hawk charged home from well back here last start and ran an eye catching 2nd behind Opus Bale from box 1 and will be very hard to beat for mine.  Dyna Inca is another who will be flying home late along with Holeshot Hero.  Box up 1.2.7.8

Race 2 and there are several hopes in this.  The well performed and pacey Chilli In White should set the pace and is racing in good form.  Boss Number Four is in the in-form Rasmussen kennel and will be rattling home late.  In A Bottle is classy when on song but could be a risk.  Box Up 1.3.5.7

Race 3, another tough and open affair.  Dakota Barbie has won 3 from 3 here all in good fashion but the draw is a bit of a worry.  I am going with a strong type in Zana Bale.  She has good form over the 600m and appears well suited in this.  Bradley Bale will put a bit of value in the trifecta along with Aston Tulloch.  Box Up 1.2.4.6

The 4th and this should make it a double for the Jovanovic kennel and that is Lucky Road.  He is well drawn down in box 1 and will be very hard to beat.  Billy Blue Eyes is very strong over the last 100m and has early pace.  Box Up 1.3.7.8

The 5th and this is an open affair with a heap of chances.  Regal Looper has the form on the board but will need to step on box rise from box 5.  Mrs Bubbles won from this draw last week in 30.20 and she can go a lot quicker so we can’t leave her out.  Box Up 1.5.7.8

Race 6 and the two main chances look to be Emerley Senorita and Wayne’s Error.  Both are very strong and will be right in the finish.  As we are looking for value Margaret Keeping is a likely improver along with Breaker Kahn.  Box Up 5.6.7.8

Race 7 and Temalor could make it a treble for the Jovanovic kennel if she continues on her recent form.  She should get a nice run early and prove too strong.  Black Bottle is always a chance and should set the early pace.  Coorong Kid will be rattling home late and in his recent runs has the form on the board.  Box Up 1.2.3.6

The 8th and I am leaning towards a consistent type in Match Winner.  He has a good turn of early pace and has been nutted on the line by the outstanding Worm Burner in his last 3 here.  She’s A Looper is a smart youngster and will be flying home along with kennel mate Worm Burner who has won his last 4 starts with 2 of them from this draw.  Box Up 3.4.7.8

Race 9 and the two main chances look to be the pacey Zambora Magic and the ultra-strong Genghis Kahn.  Both have different racing styles but appear the main two hopes in this event.  We can add in Freesia Bale out in box 8 for value as she should find this a little easier than her past couple.  Box Up 1.2.5.8

The final event and there is a lot of early pace in this and if I haven’t put the MOCKERS on the kennel yet so I will tip another of the Jovanovic’s runners in French Assassin.  She has only had a handful of starts for 2 wins and 2 placings and should be right in the mix.  Irish Midge was a last start winner here in 30.16 and that run would bring her into the race.  Box Up 1.2.5.8

2015 GREYHOUND AUCTION ON SUNDAY AT ANGLE PARK

The catalogue has been released and it’s now just waiting in anticipation for our greyhound Auction to begin on Sunday 25th October with around 87 lots to be sold.

Vendors will be arriving between 8.30am and 9.30am to be checked in. Viewing will begin at 10.30am with the Auction due to start at 12.00pm.

The AGRC have organised a barbeque (Vietnam Veterans) from around 10.30am for vendors and purchasers with the GRSA office also open around this time. There will be Rearers and Trainers on hand to assist those people requiring a little extra assistance with their purchase and we thank the AGRC committee for working hard to get these people on hand.

Ray Fewings will be the Auctioneer on the day.

There is a requirement for anyone wishing to bid on a greyhound including buybacks that they are registered before the Auction begins on Sunday 25th October.

In an added bonus Ray Borda from Macro Meats has sponsored the auction and has provided 19 x $250 vouchers to entice bidders to the auction and to be used on the purchase price (buy backs are excluded from this promotion). There were 9 drawn last week with the remaining 10 drawn tonight on track.

By registering for the Auction this will also put you in the draw for the vouchers.

Auction on the Day and Race conditions–

                        11% commission

Minimum price of $800 (No Reserve)

The main race series Heats and Final are scheduled for May 2017 when the youngest pups will be 24 months old. One month before (April) there will be a Wednesday 388m series with Heats and Final for pups sold at the auction. There will also be a Wednesday heats 515m and Final Thursday night 515m held in June the month after the main race series. This gives the buyer more opportunity to recover some of their expenditure and the breeder greater opportunity to receive breeder bonuses.

The Main race series stakes ($16,000,$5,000, $2,500, unpl $500). Auction Nominator bonuses for main race ($3,500, $2,500, $1,500).

Greyhounds purchased through the auction that are not SA Bred will be allowed the same grading exemptions in regards to Grade 6 and Juvenile races as locally bred greyhounds. The extra conditions for Interstate greyhounds only refer to a grading advantage and have no bearing on the SA Bred pool of money.

TOPGUN SATURDAY NIGHT

Champion sprinter Fernando Bale will start a short-priced favourite to win the eighth Group 1 race of his career after drawing box one in Saturday’s $210,000 Group 1 Sky Racing Topgun. The son of Kelsos Fusileer and Chloe Allen prepared for Saturday’s $150,000-to-the-winner final with an outstanding 29.47 gallop around The Meadows on Saturday, after recording near record splits of 4.94 and 17.43. Victory on Saturday would improve his record to 32 wins from 39 starts and prizemoney totalling $1,156,110.

South Australia will be hoping star stayer Luna Jinx gets a run in the Topgun Stayers after her impressive victory last week at the Meadows. She is third favourite for the final behind Sweet It Is but needs a scratching to gain a start. She will however be running in the first event on the card Saturday night if she doesn’t get a run.
