Racing News

Finals night are always good but in race 8 tonight there is a star studded group of youngsters fronting up in the BGC Industrial Cleaning Supplies Derby Final and with a whopping $25,000 to the winner it certainly looks to be a terrific event.  Local trainer Troy Murray qualified with his more than handy chaser Its Classified, but he will need to be at his absolute best to beat the other 7, who are all interstaters. Other features of the night look to be race 5 over the 600m and race 7 is a very handy mixed sprint event.

Race 1 and the inside brigade appear the main chances.  Aston Kane and the Tassie performer Lisheen.  They both can be hit and miss on box rise but are very strong so they look to be the ones to beat for mine.  Add in Spicy Peppa who is more than capable when on song along with my surprise packet for the race, Emerley Senorita at good eachway odds.  Box Up 1.2.3.5.

Race 2 and it’s the same as the previous event where both the inside runners will be very hard to beat.  My Excuse is the form runner of the race with 3 wins on the trot all in good times and should lead where Aussie Noorumba who is the big improver after he faced a very hard task when resuming last week.  Night Rhythm will be running on late.  Box Up 1.2.7.8 in a good betting affair.

Race 3 and this is a very open affair and a good trifecta race.  We will go with the inside two and the outside two.   Breaker Kahn can kick up from box 1 and might be able to pinch this on his last week’s effort when 2nd behind Big Zap.  Margaret Keeping resumed with a 2nd over the short and should be hard to toss.  Box Up 1.2.5.7 and add the 8 for value for a place.

The 4th and this is the first of the 600m events and I will go with Springvale Clint from the Gavin Harris kennel.  He is well drawn and should be right in finish having won his past couple over the trip.  Lobo Loco should start the punters elect and has a vacant box on his outside which will be a huge help.  Box Up 1.3.4.6

The 5th and this looks a toughie.  The pace should be coming from Zipping Bart and Wayne’s Error but there will be several who will be storming home late.  He’s a Villian and Allen Warlock.  Box Up 3.5.6.7

Race 6 and we are back to the sprint events and I am tipping a 600m runner in Genghis Kahn from box 2.  He should be right in the mix early and prove far too strong in the run home. The early pace will come from Van Carrho Flash and Yiche who should finish in the top 3.  Box Up 2.4.5.7

Race 7 and this is a good betting race with plenty of chances but I will go with Valladares from box 2.  He failed to beat a runner home here at his last start after missing the start but can bounce back, (I hope).  Black Bottle and Fusaichi Kahn both have speed and are a chance to pinch this.  Box Up 2.3.5.7

The Final of the Derby and how good is this event as mentioned before there is a winner’s cheque of $25,000 to the winner and these TOP youngsters have already amassed in excess over $600,000 thousand dollars between them.  Dyna Double One is an absolute class act and stormed home to win in an outstanding 29.30, easily winning in the BON from box 8 here last week.  He should get a nice run despite the poor draw of box 4 and is my top pick.  Fever Pitch carved across them early from this draw and went on to win in a slick 29.56 and has won at Sandown in quick times in the past.  With the scratching of top performer Blazin’ Bomber I am throwing in the pacey WA performer Fun Boss who has blistering early pace and could pinch this if there was early trouble.  Box Up 2.3.4.8

Race 9 and this is a very open affair with several chances.  I like one here at a bit of value in Cosmic Shez.  She has been off the scene for over a month since her last start when injured in running, she has a good turn of early pace and is drawn for a bold showing.  Fast Noodle is ultra-consistent as is Danyo’s Frank.  Box Up 2.4.5.7.

The 10th and the book ends look to be the main chances but it’s very hard to go past the very talented Worm Burner out in box 8.  He is a class act and will take a power of beating.  Buttsy’s Bandit will figure along with Zana Bale.  Box up 8 from 1.4.7

The final event on a terrific night and I am going with Rellim Allan who can nearly cross from out wide and send us home on a winning note.  Hesa Jayclo will be pushing up along with Holeshot Hero.  Box up 1.2.3.7

LOCAL INDUSTRY NEWS

2015 BGC INDUSTRIAL CLEANING SUPPLIES SA DERBY FINAL

Last week at Angle Park we saw four terrific heats of the BGC Industrial Cleaning Supplies SA Derby where the racing was of the highest level. The tone for the night was set in the first heat where Dyna Double One for Andrea Dailly stamped himself as the greyhound to beat tonight when he sizzled around the Angle Park circuit in a blistering 29.30 to be the fastest qualifier.

The race was set up early by the flying Western Australian Fun Boss for Lexie Isaac who flew out of the boxes in a lead time of 4.33 however Dyna Double One was hard on his tail and gave him the go by off the back straight. From there the outstanding son of Barcia Bale and Crystin Bale gapped his rivals winning by over 6 lengths with Fun Boss still running a flying 29.78 in finishing second and qualifying for the final. Fun Boss will be able to use his high speed from a favourable box 3 however Dyna Double One has drawn box 4 and if anything can beat him its trouble at the start.

The second heat of the night was disrupted by major interference on the first turn where most greyhounds found some trouble however out of the wash up both Victorian trained greyhounds Amaro Bale for Andrea Dailly and Hard Bargain for Kelly Bravo did enough to qualify. Amaro Bale won in a handy 30.12 with Hard Bargain close up however due to the interference the slower time should be disregarded as both were able to run home solidly. Hard Bargain looks the likely improver after drawing box 1 in the final however Amaro Bale has run 29.30 at Sandown and shouldn’t be treated lightly.

The third heat saw the unbeaten run of Fever Pitch from box 8 continue for Victorian trainer Rinaldo Divirgilio when he made full use of the pink rug to run to the front early in the event before racing away from his rivals. He won in a blistering 29.56 with very solid sections of 4.38, 16.87 defeating fellow Victorian Lektra Concord by almost 4 lengths. Fever Pitch has now won 3 from 3 from the 8 box and again draws box 8 in the Derby final putting him right into winning calculations.

The final heat looked a match race on paper between outstanding SA sprinter It’s Classified for Troy Murray and brilliant Victorian Blazin’ Bomber for Darren Pattinson and that’s the way it turned out. It’s Classified found the early lead and gave Blazin’ Bomber something to catch and turning for home it looked like he might have had his measure however Blazin’ Bomber knuckled down and ran home powerfully to record a strong win 29.61 with It’s Classifed far from disgraced in 29.70. Unfortunately Blazin’ Bomber has been scratched due to illness and we wish the connections a speedy recovery and much more success in the future.

The $35,000 Group Three Final will be race 8 on tonight’s program and is listed to jump at 9.12pm (SA time).

The Final field in Box Draw order is:

1.  Hard Bargain                                Kelly Bravo (Vic)

2.  Lektra Concord                              Abdrea Dailly (Vic)

3.  Fun Boss                                              Lexie Isaac (WA)

4.  Dyna Double One                           Andrea Dailly (Vic)

5.  Amaro Bale                                    Andrea Dailly (Vic)

6.  It’s Classified                                Troy Murray (SA)

7.  Blazin’ Bomber                               SCR

8.  Fever Pitch                                      Rinaldo Divirgilio (Vic)

9.  Percy’s Lad (1st Res)                                   Kelly Bravo (Vic)

10.Armani (2nd Res)                            Steve Shinners (WA)
