Angle Park Preview

Racing News

How good is the racing tonight at headquarters!!!  We have the final of the Coffex Coffee Oaks, race 8 on the programme, and to top it off 4 terrific heats of the BGC Industrial Cleaning Supplies Derby, races 4 to 7 on the card.  If you love Greyhound racing you get to see the best youngster’s gracing the Angle Park loam tonight and a few that will be here for the Adelaide Cup in the coming weeks.

Race 1 and the opening event is wide open but I will go with the Ray Murray trained Aston Kane.  He has been in handy form of late and the wide draw of 7 is a bonus.  The main dangers look to be Kiss the Hawk who musters early and Sunday Shoes who is a class act with an ounce of luck early.  Box Up 4.5.6.7.

Race 2 and we have to go to the outside brigade for mine and they are the pacey Valladares and Wild Soul.  Both have different racing styles as one will lead the other be flying home over the top of them so they are the main two.  Let’s add in Fraya Bale and the more than handy Oakvale Flyer.  Box Up 1.5.6.7

Race 3 and the one I like is Breaker Kahn from the poor draw of 5.  However he appears well suited in this event and hopefully we get a bit of luck in the run to the 1st turn. Big Zap is a must for the trifecta along with Brett’s Magic.  Box Up 5.6.7.8

Race 4 and the 1st of the Derby heats and we start off with an odds on favourite with the outstanding Dyna Double One out in box 8, he carved out a slick 29.43 here last start and is capable of going quicker.  We will make him the BIG stand out so let’s go 8 from 1.4.7 boxed.

The 5th and Worm Burner owned and trained locally by Cameron Butcher has been in outstanding form of late and is well drawn out in box 8.  He is certainly a talented youngster and will be right in the finish.  About To Rock is another class act from WA and is sure to make his presence felt in this.  We should add in Amora Bale and Hard Bargain from Victoria.  Box Up 1.2.6.8

The 6th and the book ends are the main chances for mine.  Armani is another WA runner who has an outstanding record of 10 wins and 4 places from 17 starts.  Fever Pitch is another who is very smart and he carved out a slick 29.30 two starts back at Sandown from box 5 so he should start the punters elect.  Box Up 1.2.7.8

Race 7 and the last of the Derby heats and the Victorian visitor in Blazin’ Bomber trialled here in a more than handy 29.85 and will only improve on that run.  He gets the nod for mine.  Its Classified is a classy local and is boxed for a bold showing from the two.  Box Up 2.3.4.8 in a top race.

The final of the Oaks is race 8 and what a fantastic race it is, the favourite Angie Rocks was a HUGE run here last week, she was slow out and ducked and dived for 400 metres and rattled home to win in a slick 29.65.  She will only be improved by the look at the track and should take a power of beating.  Elfen Bale is another who will improve but we must add in one at good value in Mrs Bubbles for the Matty Payne kennel.  She can run a very cheeky race.  Box Up 1.3.5.6

The 9th and this is a very good 600m event and the Troy Murray trained Real Flash has returned to her best form with 3 wins on the trot.  She can be hit and miss on box rise which can be risky over this trip but she is very good on her night.  Allen Warlock should be running on and will give this a big shake from box 1.  Zipping Bart if crosses would take running down and is a must for all trifecta punters.  Box Up 1.2.5.8

Race 10 and this would be one of the most open races of the night and Dyna Inca and Anisa Bale are amongst the main chances.  Add in Point Made and Shot Of Fear.  Box Up 1.4.7.8

The final event on a huge night of racing and let’s hope we have picked a couple of winners. I am not going in with a lot of confidence but we should have a little wager on Night Rhythm he was a very good winner here last start but needs to improve his box manners.  Best Of Brit and In A Bottle both have chances. If we are looking for a roughie get on Chilli In White.  Box Up 2.4.7.8

Effect of disqualification, suspension, warning off or being declared a defaulter

LR89A(SA)

A person who is disqualified, warned off, suspended or declared to be a defaulter shall, during the period of the penalty, forfeit all Breeders Bonuses. In the event of joint or multiple persons the percentage of Breeder Bonus payable to the disqualified, warned off, suspended or defaulter will be forfeited.

STRATHALBYN TRIALS AT RACE MEETINGS

The Strathalbyn Greyhound Racing Club has advised that for any future trials at race meetings these will be conducted after the last race. Please contact the club if you are looking to trail on a race day.

CHANGE IN PAPERWORK FOR PRIZEMONEY

From 1st September 2015 the paperwork for directing prizemoney will change. In the past the paperwork refers to the owner directing where which account the prizemoney goes. GRSA has had no option but to direct all greyhounds owned by that person into their specific account. From 1st September the paperwork will refer to the greyhound so this will provide flexibility for each owner to have different conditions (if required) for each greyhound.

For example if an owner has 10 dogs with prizemoney all going into the same account under the same conditions then they only need to fill out one form naming all 10 greyhounds however if there are 10 different agreements for these greyhounds then they will need to complete 10 different forms for each dog.

As previously advised it is up to the owner of the greyhound to ensure prizemoney paperwork has been lodged prior to the greyhound racing to ensure payment is made correctly.

**All existing prizemoney accounts remain the same unless directed by the owners and updated account information is provided**
