TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow

The highlight of tonight’s racing is the two semis of the 2015 Champion Puppy which are races 3 and 4 on the programme.  We will get to see a couple of smart youngsters who look to have bright futures grace the Angle Park loam.

Race 1 and we see a classy race to kick off with.  There are a couple that have early pace and one that will be rattling home over the top of them.  Grifter Bale will be flying home late, Cash In Looper who is very smart and is my pick and He Isn’t Really out in box 8 who won here last start from the same draw in a slick BON 29.53.  Box Up 1.3.6.8

Race 2 and this should come down to the rails runners and I like Breaker Kahn from box 2.  He kicked up from box 1 and scored in 30.13 here last start and on that effort will go close again.  Lochinvar Akira gets her chance to improve from box 1 and will be running on strongly.  Box Up 1.2.5.8

The 3rd and this is the first of the Champion Puppy semis and the two that stand out are Aston Tulloch for Troy Murray and Rhynstone Jetta for Martin Doyle.  Both are very smart sprinters and are hard to split.  Von Dousa will be running on late and is a must for the trifecta.  Box Up 3.5.6.7

The 4th and the second semi final, it is very hard to go past It’s Classified.  He carved out a best of day 29.53 here last week from box 6 and won by over 10L.  He is the stand out.  Match Winner is also very smart and should be right in the finish, so let’s go with 2 from 5 then 1 and 7 boxed.

Race 5 and there is a heap of speed in this event.  Mrs Bubbles just keeps on winning for trainer Mathew Payne and is a class act so she will start the punters elect.  Lady Xanthe is well drawn and will be carving across from box 8 and can’t be overlooked.  Box Up 2.5.7.8

The 6th and I like one here at each way odds and that is Fast Noodle.  He is hit and miss on box rise and if he gets a clear run he will be very hard to beat.  Margaret Keeping was a top pick for me here last week and she ran a very good 3rd after finding early trouble.  So she will be right in the mix.  Box up 2.4.5.7.

Race 7 and this is an open affair, I am leaning towards Barnes Bay as he could come out running from box 7 and if he leads will be very hard to beat.  Taser McBain is always a chance and should finish in the top 3.  Add in Dyna Inca for value.  Box Up 1.3.7.8

Race 8, and a very interesting race it is too.  It has pacey types and a couple of 600m specialists who will be flying home late.  It is very hard to go past Young Gun McBain who won from this draw last week in a smart 29.67 and on that run appears the top pick.  He’s A Villian is strong and is well drawn.  Add in Peejay Jack who saluted for us last week at nice odds and we shouldn’t miss.  Box Up 1.2.3.6 add in the 7 for value.

The 9th and I will stick with the inside 3, they all have their fair share of ability and are well drawn.  Point Made could be the roughie out in box 8 if he improves his box manners.  Box Up 1.2.3.8

Race 10 and this is a very wide open affair with several chances.  Nothing jumps out for me so we can go with a handy sprinter at each way odds in Irish Midge.  Her wins are few and far between but is always a chance of pinching a place.  Yarramudi Hanna will start the favourite and will be hard to beat along with Timeless Diamond.  Box Up 1.2.3.5

The final event and the Jovanovic kennel rarely goes home without a winner and Rellim Allan is more than capable of sending us all home on a winning note.  Electric Impulse is very smart and is drawn for a bold showing.  Box Up 1.2.3.4.

From the 1st July there will be new breeding rules in place regarding the Registration of a Breeding Female, reporting of Litters and Breeding Restrictions. The Breeding Female is to do with registering your bitch for a Pink Card before you breed from her. She needs to be DNA tested and registered before she can breed. The changes to rules make it clear that all paperwork and processes have to be completed before she can be inseminated. Please update yourself with the new conditions in kennel capers, on the GRSA website or contact GRSA Animal Welfare Officer Belinda Pearce.
