Angle Park Preview
TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
Race 1 and the Petar Jovanovic kennel can kick off the night with a winner with Margaret Keeping. She carved out a more than handy 29.96 here last start from box 6 and is a chance of pushing up again to be right in the mix. Add in Excusez Moi and the pacey Mr Leonardo for the trifecta. Box Up 3.5.6.7
Race 2 and this is the first heat of the Distance and it is very hard to tip against Psychotic Gold. She won three on the trot here then was a very good 3rd at The Meadows two runs back. She is boxed to win. Add in Zara McLaren and the newcomer Wynburn Blaze. 1 from 4 & 8.
The 3rd and this is the second of the Distance races and it looks a match race between Grifter Bale and Ash Flash with the latter being from W.A. She has 24 wins from 56 with 15 placing’s. Both have good form over the trip. Add in Sunday Sess and Dyna Arceus for the trifecta. Box Up 1.2.3.6
Race 4 and this is a good betting race with several chances. It’s hard to pick a stand out as they have been mixing their form so let’s box up 1.3.5.6.
Race 5 and the first heat of the Anniversary Cup and there is a heap of pace in this and the leader to the 1st turn will nearly pinch this. I will have a little wager on Kalden Balerion who should be charging down the outside from box 8. Add in Punishment who is quick early and Mobius down in Box 3. Box Up 1.3.4.8
Race 6 the 2nd of the sprint heats and Kalden Kapone is in terrific form with 4 wins from his last 5 starts and will be very hard to beat. We can’t leave out the pacey Black Bottle as he has the rails draw. Coorong Kid has hit form at the right time and is very strong in the run home. Box Up 1.4.6.8
The 7th and the well drawn Van Carrho Flash is backing up from a slick win at Gawler from the same draw and will be very hard to beat again. Rum Punch has the rails and Kalden Gambino is another who can’t be overlooked. Box up 1.6.7.8
Race 8 and Sidney’s Shadow has returned to her best form with 2 slick wins around Strathalbyn over the 536m winning by big margins. So she is my top selection. Woodnear’s form can’t be faulted. Lannister has the perfect draw and will be running on late. Box Up 1.2.4.6
The 9th and Alderley Reform is a class act when on song and looks VERY well suited here from box 1 for Terry Cahalan. He flew home here last start and is a stand out for mine. He’s A Villian continues to impress and is a must for the trifecta. Box Up 1.4.6.7
Race 10 and winning form is good form so it’s hard to go past Kalina Allen. She won 3 on the trot here all in good times and wasn’t disgraced when 3rd in a hot field last start. Add in Good Odds Punk who will be flying home late along with Sporting Tears who found a heap of trouble here last week. Box Up 3.5.6.8
Race 11 and this is a very even affair and I like one in this at good each way odds in Red Line Lad. He is hit and miss early but is strong. Zipping Spice has good recent form and is a threat along with Montgomery Road. Box up 3.6.7.8
The final event on a huge programme and we can go home on a winner with Kinga Kahn. He found a bit of trouble here last start when unplaced but still made ground from box 8. Will be very hard to beat. Hesa Jayclo has pace and will be in this for a long way and is a definite chance. Box Up 1.3.7.8

TODD GRAY PREVIEWS OUR FEATURE RACES TONIGHT AT ANGLE PARK
Tonight we see 2 heats of the 2015 SA Distance Championship and 4 heats of the SA Anniversary Cup, with the top 4 from the Distance heats and top 2 from the Anniversary heats making up the final next week.
Race 2 (Heat 1 Stayers)
Unbackable is what Psychotic Gold will be, go make yourself a cup of tea during this race, after finishing 3rd at 25/1 in Melbourne’s big staying race 2 weeks ago she will be just too good for this small field but will reflect that in the betting. Miss Party Girl will be your early leader but 700m is just a tad to long for her, Zara Mclaren and Ella Jacqui will be fighting for the silver medal I believe, both seasoned runners over the track and distance but just can’t run the time to beat the favourite. Wynburn Blaze is the unknown quantity in the race.
Selections 1-5-8-7
Race 3 (Heat 2 Stayers)
A little more depth here and another new dog, Ash Flash for in form kennel Troy Murray could be the one to beat here, nice interstate form, but will need to avoid Grifter Bale. From Box one, the wide runner will be your early leader but the last 50m will test and will leave plenty of room to be railed up on. Dyna Arceus will show early pace and is ultra-consistent but once again just can’t run the time to win, Sunday Sess and Irinka Lexie are still new to South Australia and will find this task to hard.
Selections 3-1-6-2
Race 5 (Heat 1 Sprinters)
Blurred Lines is a former Adelaide Cup placegetter and will be the early pace maker here, was a little disappointing in the Gawler Cup, but has had time off and trainer Ben Rawlings will have him in tip top order. Spicy Peppa is ultra-consistent and the kennel is on fire and has early toe as well. Mobius is first up from a decent spell and will be in good order and finishing strong. Punishment would be a big chance if this race was at Gawler but doesn’t handle Angle Park nearly as well. Kalden Balerion has drawn bad out wide but is good enough to win.
Selections- 3-2-1-8
Race 6 (Heat 2 Sprinters)
Not a bunch of pace here, Black Bottle should find the early lead but runs wide and won’t be up to the task here I would say, Zipping Bart will be well in the market and will be storming and if the Gawler Cup finalist is close enough around the first turn will be hard to hold out. Kalden Kapone is the only other hope of leading and a major danger, Boojerooma has been off for a few weeks and can run 29.70 but before its break was missing the start a little, the freshen up could help solve that problem and put it in play. The on top selection however will be the St Leger winning Coorong Kid, can lead and run on and has really good field sense and will start your favourite to win another big race,.
Race 7 (Heat 3 Sprinters)
Van Carrho Flash will be my pick here, last start winner from this box at Gawler with good pace and has been finishing off its races much better of late. Kalden Gambino and Regal Lopper are your pace makers and Cosmic Wild will be among the fancied runners as well. Squall Bale has the best last section of these runners but will see rear ends early, toughest heat this one with lots of depth. Rum Punch has drawn perfectly in the red box and should be up near the lead most of the way.
Selections 8-6-1-2
Race 8 (Heat 4 Sprinters)
The final heat is also very open; Woodnear has drawn well in box 2 with two average beginners on each side. Aston Wingard will need to show its customary early dash or it’ll find itself in trouble on the first turn. Lannister like’s to shift off on the first turn but will fill in the multiples from box 1, Lochinvar Akira will be running on perhaps a little too late and Sidneys Shadow could be the bolter, I wouldn’t leave if off the ticket, the same goes for Blue Viper who ran a PB last week in running second.
Selections 2-4-6-5
2015 CLASSIC BET MOUNT GAMBIER CUP FINAL
Good luck to Mount Gambier on Sunday with the running of the 2015 Classic Bet Mt Gambier Cup Final. The club ran 6 exciting heats last week and has drawn together a fantastic field to be run on Sunday. Impressive local Who’s Doing What for Tracie Price was the fastest qualifier running a brilliant 29.75 in leading throughout. Who’s Doing What also won a heat of the Gawler Cup last month and is racing in the best form of her career. With a few locals from the South East, a few locals from Adelaide and interstate flavour the final should be one race not to be missed.
Other heat winners were Farmeroo (30.33), Cryer’s Ricky (30.17), Beach Wary (30.06), Bourne Again (30.25) and Lobo Loco (29.78). Final field listed below –

7. Lobo Loco Robyn Mackellar
8. Bourne Again David Peckham
9. Lots Of Yap Benjamin Boers (1st Res)

2015 SA DISTANCE CHAMPIONSHIP & SA ANNIVERSARY CUP HEATS
Two heats of the 2015 SA Distance Championship & four heats of the SA Anniversary Cup have been drawn for tonight’s meeting at Angle Park. Featured on a bumper 12 race program the Distance Championship heats over the 731m journey had 13 nominations for the series compared to 16 nominations last year drawing together two exciting heats for the stayers.
The first heat is race 2 on tonight’s program due to jump at 7.01pm (SA time) with the second heat being race 3 due to start at 7.25pm.
Joint feature tonight is the heats of the SA Anniversary Cup and what an outstanding line up of local greyhounds we have with the best sprinters in South Australia lining up against each other.
The first heat is race 5 tonight due to start at 8.08pm (SA time) and features the likes of Blurred Lines, Spicy Peppa, Punishment and Kalden Balerion all doing battle.
It gets no easier in heat 2 with Black Bottle, Kalden Kapone, Galilee Spirit and Coorong Kid matched up.
In heat 3 Regal Looper, Kalden Gambino, Squall Bale and Van Carrho Flash will be hoping to qualify and in the final heat (race 8 at 9.12pm) Woodnear, Blue Viper, Sidney’s Shadow and Hailstorm Billy look the top chances.
With two heats of the Distance it’s pretty straight forward with the first four placegetters progressing through to the final next week (Thursday 12th March). The box draw will be conducted on course tonight after the running of race 4.
With foru heats of the Anniversary Cup its also pretty easy with the first two placegetters progressing through to the final next week. The box draw will be conducted on course tonight after the running of race 9.
THE RAZLDAZL LAUNCHING PAD – SA FINAL NEXT WEEK
Yesterday at Angle Park we saw three heats of the SA Series of the 2015 Razldazl Launching Pad. The heat winners were –
Times Due – 30.13
Aussie Nooroomba – 29.81
Nikita Kahn – 30.12
The $4,415 SA final will be held next Thursday night (12th March) with the winner of the final taking their spot in the Razldazl Launching Pad heats two weeks later at Sandown. The heats will be run over the 515m on Thursday 26th March with the $200,000 final run on Thursday 2nd April.
LUNA JINX IN GROUP 1 SUPER STAYERS FINAL ON SATURDAY NIGHT
Our very own Luna Jinx has made another big race final winning her heat of the Super Stayers last week at the Meadows but unfortunately will be hard up against it in the final. She only jumps average finding herself 5th for the first half lap until really getting revved up a storming over the congested leaders in the final 100 metres. Drawing box 5 has done her no favours and if she jumps like she did in her heat she will be giving them too much head start. There’s no bad dogs in the final and the favourite will be from box 6 Space Star breaking the track record in its heat and jumps very well so could cut “Luna” in half at the start. As we know anything can happen in racing and she will be in tip top condition for the final. Good luck to Gavin Harris and Luna Jinx on the weekend.
Heat winners
Space Star - wins in a track record 41.933sec
Lady Toy - win in 42.582sec
Nicki Fields - defeats Blinker’s On (2) in 42.912sec
Luna Jinx - defeats Echelonic Action (2) in 42.932sec

THE ADVERTISER EXPANDED FORM GUIDE
The expanded form which was published in The Advertiser on Thursdays late last year is back, bigger and better than ever this year.
The guide has been available for the first four days of the week and includes expert comments, speed maps, run lines, tipsters columns along with winning box statistics and leading trainer details for GRSA greyhound meetings all in full colour. TattsBet also are providing fixed odds on all these meetings so there’s not much more a punter could want for.
PAYMENT OF PRIZEMONEY/TRAINERS FEE
As GRSA continues to refine and increase our usage of the OzChase system we will shortly be moving away from our current manual methods of processing prizemoney/trainers’ fee and start utilising reports automatically generated from OzChase.
With this increased functionality, GRSA will have the ability to split prizemoney payments between owners and trainers, as opposed to the current situation where 100% of prizemoney is paid to one bank account. Should trainers or owners wish to take advantage of this it will be necessary for additional forms to be lodged with GRSA.
As a result of the fact that the payments will be automated, going forward each OzChase ID will only be able to have one bank account associated with it. Whilst previously GRSA has been able to manually adjust this and provide separate remittance advices, unfortunately this option will no longer be available.
These changes are expected to take effect from the payment batch being paid on 24 March 2015.
Any queries regarding this change please contact Sarah Webster or the racing department on 08 8243 7100.
