TELLING THE TAIL

by The Shadow

As we head towards the long weekend as usual we all need that extra dollar or 2 in our hip pocket, there are several I like tonight at each way odds so that is where we will aim and work our Trifectas and First Fours around, good luck and enjoy the weekend.

Race 1 - The Ben Rawlings team can kick the night off for us on a winning note with Two Times Twice, he has solid 600m form and drops back to the sprint, he looks very hard to beat. Lenny The Jet is a must for the Trifecta as he loves this draw, add Surfing Dyno who was a smart winner up the straight at Murray Bridge last start. Box Up 1.4.5.8

Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the night and it’s a toughie, we will go with the newcomer Springvale Ortiz who has trialled very well here from box 1, he is making his race debut and is well bred. Spring Burner is in the very good kennel of Greg Board and should be included in all Trifectas and Firsts Fours. Box Up 1.2.3.8

Race 3 - Its very hard to go past Chevy Chaser from the draw, he has won his past 2 here in good fashion and appears to have a bright future., Born Lovely has handy short course form and will be in the mix along with Dracarys who won on debut here in good fashion in 30.12. Box Up 1.2.4.7

Race 4 - The 2 main chances look to be Power Burner and American Man, both have different racing styles as the later will be running on very strongly and is my selection. Dyna Adria returned to form with a good win at Murray Bridge last start, he can be hit and miss on lid rise and can add a bit of value to the top Four. Box Up 4.6.7.8

Race 5 - This is the distance affair of the night and we will go with one at each way value in Wooden Tiger, he was placed on debut when 2nd behind My Boy Bean in good time, he might be able to skip to the front and hopefully pinch this. Sir Truculent and My Boy Bean are racing well and are the other main chances. Box Up 2.5.6.7

Race 6 - Fantastic Reef has been very impressive with 2 wins both in sub 30 and is drawn for another bold showing. Worth A Shout has been ultra-consistent of late both over the sprint and 600m, he will be at big odds and is the value runner. Box Up 2.3.6.8

Race 7 - The Rasmussen team have been on fire of late and they should win again with Shadow Burner who was an outstanding winner here last week in a slick 29.64. Fantastic Pippa had support on his SA debut but was checked early and lost all chance, she cant be overlooked on that run. No Knowledge is well drawn and is a danger. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 8 - This certainly is a wide open affair so it’s a terrific event to have a Trifecta and First Four in, the 4 I like are Tornado Alley who is more than capable when switched on, he has been hit and miss of late and if steps will take beating. Ask Me Now is an EX Victorian who has had 66 starts and has won in quick times in the past, the new venue and grade will only enhance his chances. Minnie Mac and Firetail for the minors. Box Up 1.2.5.6

Race 9 - The 600m racing here in recent weeks has been 1st class and this looks no different, we will go with Canya Chase who has been racing very well of late, she won in a very fast 34.69 last week and looks the measuring stick once again. Waikiki Big Girl has been in good form with 3 wins from her past 5 and can figure in the money once again, add Oakvale Magic and Rampage Luke. Box Up 1.5.7.8

Race 10 - Crowdza Jumpin’ should start the punters elect, she has been runner up here at her past couple and her rails draw suits, I will stick with Boss Three Fifty again, he has proven very costly of late but with moderate beginners around him tonight he might find the early lead. Herculean and Predecessor for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.5.8

Race 11 - We can go home on a winning note if Artistic Lee can settle forward and find room early, he can be hit and miss on lid rise but is well worth a wager at handy odds. Long Gully Bella is drawn for a bold showing as is Danyo’s Bully. Box Up 1.3.6.8
