TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow

How good is race 8 on the programme tonight?  It is a 600m event with quality runners and with a race time of 9.12pm, make sure you don’t miss it. It’s proudly sponsored by Enviro Sweep and it has at least 5 chances of taking line honors.  It is certainly a good race to have a trifecta and a first 4 as there will be value in this particular event.

Race 1 and the Troy Murray trained Yambla Mick is a lot better than his last start suggests.  From box 1 he can kick up and will take beating.  Animate will be rattling home late at each way odds and is always a chance.  Add in Allen Namor and Zac Bale in an interesting race to kick the night off.  Box Up 1.4.5.8

The 2nd and lets go for the pace and that is Black Bottle, who should lead and win from box 1, after his last start sizzling 29.96 win.   Check Yo Self is an improver along with Pawesome Gold who is racing well.  Box Up 1.4.7.8

The 3rd and it is hard to go past Boonoona Boy.  He has been knocking on the door of late and is a chance of breaking through tonight.  Spring Tyson has a chance along with Black Gecko who has a good draw.  Box Up 1.3.4.5

Race 4 and this is a field of 6 quality runners.  Emerley Senorita has the form on the board and Peter Hurley has her primed for another win.  Box Up 1.4.5.7 but she looks the top pick.

Race 5 and we see the return of Luna Jinx after a set back from an injury at her last start in Victoria mid-year. By all reports she has been trialing well and will be hard to beat.  Box Up 1.6.7.8

The 6th and another pacey type in Disco Dave can lead and win from box 3 at handy odds.  He can pinch this when on the bunny.  The main dangers look to be Danyo’s Luke and Allen Illem who will be right in the mix.  Box Up 2.3.4.5.

Race 7 and this is an interesting race.  I still like Galilee Spirit out in box 8.  He can be hit and miss on box rise but will give this a shake from this draw.  We can’t forget Wild Soul who will be storming home along with Set The Scene who is very smart when on song.  Box Up 3.4.6.7

Race 8 and this event I wrote about earlier, what a ripper over the 600m.  Beach Wary has the draw and might be able to kick up and should take a power of beating.  Black Daddy has the polish of veteran trainer Allan Francis and will be in the firing line once again, along with Apocal Bale who is very strong.  Box Up 1.3.7.8 in a top event.

The 9th and As It Goes will lead and win this from box 1 for Oswald Chegia.  She is back to the sprint and looks well suited.  Just Crazy is drawn to run a cheeky race along with the pacey Nevada Smith for Gavin Harris.  Box Up 1.2.5.6

A newcomer in Sugar Ray Lee for Petar Jovanovic is making his debut.  He has 6 wins and 7 placing’s from just 26 starts.  He will be well tried on his debut.  Kaylarikki is the value runner who is a big chance with a little bit of trouble in the run to the 1st turn for her competitors.  Box Up 1.2.6.7

The final Event and Dashing Dee Dee is boxed to carve across early from box 8 and win.  Velocity Tara is primed and the kennel is on fire.  Box Up 1.4.7.8

The exciting Group 1 racing will continue in Tasmania this week with the running of the Hobart Thousand Heats tonight on the Hobart track. There are 8 fabulous heats with only the winner’s progressing through to next weeks $75,000 to the winner Group 1 final.

There is good representation from the Victorians again this year which includes Group 1 Melbourne Cup winner Dyna Villa for Jenny Hunt who looks very hard to beat in the second heat. Darren McDonald has Kicking Rocks engaged, Rob Britton has Above All and Paul Stuart from WA has Quartz Bale entered. Kelly Bravo has a full team entered including Blurred Lines, National Time and Ride The Rails, with Walk Hard for Nicole Mcrae.

ALDERLEY REFORM SCRATCHED FROM PUPPY CLASSIC TONIGHT
Unfortunately for SA greyhound fans Alderley Reform for trainer Terry Cahalan has been scratched from the Feature Dapto Puppy Classic final tonight. There was a chance he might have been included after the race was abandoned last week however this was not the case.
THE DOUG PAYNE NEXT THURSDAY
Next Thursday night will see the running of the Doug Payne Feature. The race is for SA Bred greyhounds and is graded on a “Best 8” basis; it is run over the 515m trip. Prizemoney for the race is a total of $6,875 and outside of the Futurity events, it is the main SA Bred event for the year.
