Angle Park Preview - 2nd July 2020
by The Shadow
I can’t believe we are at the half way mark for 2020, it certainly has thrown a few curve balls for all of us and the best way to look forward is to continue to back winners and we can do that again tonight with another strong 11 events. We have three 600m’s a 731m and our normal sprints over the 515m, the interesting runner of the night is the flying Coorong Lucy making her debut over the 600m in race 7. As always all races are Trifecta and First Fours.
Race 1 - It certainly is a toughie to kick start the night with and we will go with the newcomer Fantastic Shell out in box 8, she will be at each way odds and is sure to be well tried. Springvale Ortiz looks to have a bright future and will be right in the finish. Box Up 2.3.7.8
Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the night and the well-drawn Springvale Cher only need to be handy early to give this a big shake, she will be rattling home. Hali’s Girl led here last start only to be run down, she will only improve and is a must for the Trifecta. Add Mareena and Salt And Pepper for the minors. Box Up 1.2.3.5
Race 3 - We kick start the 600m for the evening and it’s hard to go past Zipping Ted on his recent performances over the sprint, he is drawn to get a clear run and the extra distance shouldn’t be a worry. Springvale Issy has handy sprint form and is a must for our First Four. Joint Interest and Shanlyn Haven have been placed over this trip and can figure. Box Up 2.4.7.8
Race 4 - Scarred Warrior was very impressive when winning here last start in 35.21, he has moderate beginners on his inside and looks the one to beat. Corryong McLaren is drawn to improve, he will be doing his best work late. Vontae Mack has been placed at his 3 attempts and is in a strong kennel. Box Up 1.3.4.8
Race 5 - Fly For Fun missed the start here last week and battled into 3rd, he should lead tonight and prove hard to beat. Jervois Boy is in outstanding form winning his last 3, I couldn’t believe they served up the juicy odds of 9/1 but its better in our pocket than theirs. Up Time Girl and Viking Vince for value. Box Up 2.3.4.7
Race 6 - The Robyn Mackellar trained Ashby Mayhem is back to the sprint tonight, she led everywhere bar the post when 2nd over the 600m last week, she is quick early and looks one of the better bets of the night. I’m Top Girl and Victa Boris for the minors. Box Up 2.3.4.6
Race 7 - The flying Coorong Lucy is stepping up to the 600m in this, she is in outstanding form over the sprint and she should be that far in front she should win again. Holy Reign won here last week in good time and can run into the places as can Tammy Parker who will be running on strongly. 4 from 1.5.8 boxed
Race 8 - Shadow Mist has been in terrific form since transferring to SA, he won 3 on the trot then chased home Coorong Lucy here last start when a game 2nd, he is drawn for a bold showing again tonight and is our top pick. Hot Sophie is another who is in form and is a must for our Trifecta. Alfieri is smart on his night and Lenny The Jet is our value runner for the First Four. Box Up 1.3.7.8
Race 9 - This is the distance affair and Sir Truculent continued on his winning way with a powerful 43.00 run here last week, he will be at very skinny odds and wins again. Miss Bellawood and No Surrender for the minors. 1.5.7.3 in order for $1
Race 10 - Fabs You Go found a heap of trouble here last week and battled on well to run 2nd after making late ground, he should appreciate the draw and is our top pick at each way odds. Yarindale can be hit and miss on box rise, he can carve out quick times when on song and is the danger. Box Up 2.3.7.8
Race 11 - Its certainly a wide open affair to go home on and we will stick with the well-drawn Sutton Daisy down in box 1, she won from here 4 starts back in 30.06 and should be able to kick up into the back. Danyo’s Rosie loves a wide draw and is amongst the main dangers, add Hot Sambuca and American Man for the First Four. Box Up 1.4.7.8.
