TELLING THE TAIL
By The Shadow

The racing is starting to heat up here at headquarters, tonight we have the running of the TAB (SA v All Stars) Match race series which has proved very popular in recent years. All eyes will be on the clock as it will be interesting to see how quick a couple of the interstaters can run on the new circuit.  With racing over three distances here tonight race 2 over the 730m will see a terrific clash of our stayers with Fantastic Radley, Bedrock Fred and Lashes Monelli all doing battle.

Race 1 - Mallee Magic was very impressive winning last weeks SA Derby final in 30.57, he is a handy type and can kick start the night for us. Don’t Tell Lies was the SA Oaks winner last week and is the danger. Add Zinfandel Cilla and Springvale Maddi for the First Four. Box Up 1.4.7.8

Race 2 - This is over the 730m and I have gone with Fantastic Radley who charged home late to run 3rd here over the 595m last run, he was in superb form at the Murray Bridge venue prior and is drawn for a forward showing. Bedrock Fred looks the likely leader and has been in terrific form winning 3 of his last 4. Lashes Monelli will be charging home late. Box Up 1.2.6.4

Race 3 -  Its very hard to go past the Glen Rounds speedster Aston Rupee here in the Match race series, he won in a flying 28.79 last start at Sandown and it will be interesting to see how quick he can go here on the new circuit. He’s my tip for the overall win. Weblec Jet and Stout Monelli for the minors. 7.6.4.2

Race 4 - This is the Maiden of the night and we will go with Springvale Rex who is well drawn down in box 1, he was placed here last run and should only be improved by the run. Aston Carlos showed early pace here to lead only to be run down, he is right in the mix again. Add his litter mate Aston Wines for the Trifecta. Box Up 1.4.5.7

Race 5 - Adele’s Entity has been very impressive of late winning her last 3 leading throughout on each occasion, she should lead and win again for mine. Dark Tides is another who has been racing well and looks one of the better chances. Shavano can run into the minors. Box Up 5.6.7.8

Race 6 - Came And Went started a very short price favourite here last week in the Derby final, he led and was run down but can bounce back here tonight and is our top pick here. Tanner Max has won 4 of his last 5 and is another who has good box speed. Add Harbor Blues and Zinfandel Oompa for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.7.8

Race 7 - There look to be several chances here but we will go with the newcomer in the Ken Gill kennel Redcap Monelli, he hasn’t raced since late July and from the good draw should be right in the finish. Namida is another ex-interstater from Victoria who must be kept safe. Dakota Roxy is better than her past couple suggests. Box Up 1.3.4.5

Race 8 - Gemtree Maximus has terrific box manners and can handle the wide draw and has the pace to lead here. Aston Gypsy was a good winner last start while Chimera Monelli will be running on strongly and is the value runner. Box Up 2.3.4.7

Race 9 - We have another interstater here in Mepunga Warrior down in box 1, he has been placed in Melbourne at his last 5 and is drawn for a bold showing here. Meet Joe Black can be awkward early but was a last start winner here from this draw. Fantastic Victor and Withers Monelli are Trifecta hopes. Box Up 1.2.7.8

Race 10 - This is over the 595m, I like Run Like Jess who has mixed form back in Victoria, he won three on the trot prior to his past couple and the change of scenery might do the trick. Ned’s Chance can run quick times when on song and has won his past two in good fashion he is another who will be right in the mix. Box up 1.2.4.5

Race 11 - Victa Saige has had plenty of support of late and has been running into the placings, she is well drawn here and is knocking on the door. Rockstar Ruby is a new one in the Bec Romyn kennel she was placed two runs back at Cranbourne over the 520m and is drawn for a forward showing at her SA debut. I’m A Psycho will be doing his best work late. Box Up 1.2.6.8

Race 12 - I like a real roughie here in the last in Rogue Planet, he gets a long way back in his races, but the extra distance should help his chances. Victa Emma and Aston Antoine have been racing well and look amongst the better chances. Way To Much was a very nice run here last week from a wide draw. Box Up 1.2.4.8

MOUNT GAMBIER CROSS BORDER BUBBLE AT 70KM

We advise that the SA Government still have a 70km cross border bubble, therefore, only those trainers from Victoria with that exemption will have nominations accepted for upcoming Mt Gambier meetings, however, these directions do change regularly.

GRSA would be hopeful this changes soon to allow more of our Victorian friends across to support the South East venue. In the meantime the Club have been very appreciative of the support from the local trainers and those from Metro Adelaide ensuring none of their meetings have lost.

DAISH IRRIGATION & FODDER VOUCHERS FOR MURRAY BRIDGE

The Murray Bridge GRC has been able to secure some $100 vouchers from their sponsor Daish Irrigation & Fodder to be used on Heat and Final series’ over the next 12 months.

In the All Tracks calendar these races will be highlighted which is a terrific initiative of the Murray Bridge GRC.
