Angle Park Preview - 23.12.21
By The Shadow
Well the MONEY is flowing here at headquarters tonight, it must be CHRISTMAS, we have 6 races with $10,000 to the winner or more on offer. How good is that for the local trainers, you should all be smiling if you get a win as will the owners. The 12 event card is a good one and it makes for interesting racing throughout the night as always all races are Trifecta and First Four events so good luck as we have been in pretty good form leading up to tonight.
Race 1 - Its certainly is a toughie to start the night with and I have gone with Show Me Bucks because of the good draw, he should be able to kick up early and give this a big shake. Springvale Rex can handle the wide draw and is strong, add the pacey Cyclone Jane and Little Purpose for the first four. Box Up 1.2.5.8
Race 2 - Memphis Keeping was a very good run here 1st up in SA with a 30.37 win, he looks a big strong type weighing in at 37.6 kgs and looks the one to beat again. Major Major has his draw he goes well from the rails and will be the big improver. Victa Kurt and the well-drawn Meet Joe Black for the minors. Box up 1.2.5.8
Race 3 - Victa Jess was very impressive last week when winning here over this trip in 34.27, she has the pace to lead and will be the one to beat again. Victa Saige and Two Hands George are racing well and are more than capable of showing up. Box Up 1.2.3.6
Race 4 - This is the distance affair of the night and its hard to go past Frankie Boy who has a very good strike rate here with 4 wins from his 6 starts, he has a good turn of early pace and is the one to catch again. Barbados Express is the danger she also has early pace and can run the trip. Bedrock Fred and New Year Tears for the first four. Box Up 2.4.6.7
Race 5 - With $15,000 to the winner here it certainly is a good betting affair, I will stick with Victa Haydn he is a class act and was held up here last week at a vital stage he can bounce back here and win. Victa Reid was a last start winner here and has the good draw. Sell More Houses and the consistent Rugged And Ready can figure in the Tri. Box Up 1.2.5.7
Race 6 - How good is this event, all of the 8 runners have a claim on their night so there should be a bit of value in this. Spring Agatha has been in good form she loves the wide draw and is very strong she looks a major player again. Stranger Tides has early pace and the good draw he has been racing well and is amongst the better chances. Fantastic Keary and Buzz Along can figure. Box Up 1.4.5.8
Race 7 - Kirin Corby has Harbor Blues racing well, he has won three of his last 5 here and is the one to catch again from the good draw. Springvale Maddi is another who has the form on the board she has wins at Murray Bridge and here in her last 5 and loves this draw, she is the danger. Aston Carlos and Alfieri can fill the placings. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 8 - This event is worth $20,000 to the winner and the main two from last week look the ones to beat, Stout Monelli and Fantastic Victor, they cleared out from the rest of the field and only 0.25L separated them on the line with Stout Monelli winning. Victa Grosso can never be overlooked he can run time and is always a chance. Add Foresaken at odds as our value runner he has won his past two here and is a first four chance. Box Up 2.3.4.7
Race 9 - Tough race here and I lean towards Lana Roads with her early pace with moderate beginners around her she might be able to pinch this. Shantui’s Ember is back in grade here and is well boxed she looks the improver. Zipping Bates and Hot Spartan will be running on. Box Up 1.2.3.6
Race 10 - Unleashed Fury was a last start winner here and has the good draw here tonight he should be able to hold the early lead and is our top pick. Aston Wines is better than his past couple suggests he can pinch a place. Testarossa Boy has pace and looks one for the Tri. Box Up 1.2.3.4
Race 11 - The Don Turner trained Platinum Flare has been racing well at Mount Gambier with two smart wins, he goes well from down on the rails and can win here. Aston Resort has only had the two runs here in SA for two placings at the Bridge he is certainly amongst the chances. Box Up 1.4.5.8
Race 12 - George The First can send us home on a winning note for Christmas, he can lead from here in the small field and is the one they will have to catch. Under Study has been in the money at her last 5 and is amongst the chances, add Criminal and Aston Odyssey. Box Up 1.2.6.8

The Festival of Fire series is a new event for SA trained greyhounds that must have been in SA as of midnight 1st November 2021 to be eligible with all races non penalty
The GRSA Board resolved that the top-up amounts for this series will sit outside the Wagering Activity Payments (WAP) model. This means that the majority of the stakemoney for the series will be additional to the guaranteed return that has already been committed to industry through the WAP model.
SA’S DON’T TELL LIES FOR LAUREN HARRIS IN QUEENSLAND FUTURITY FINAL TONIGHT
As the fastest heat winner last week SA’s Don’t Tell Lies for trainer Lauren Harris goes into tonight’s Group 2 $40,000 to the winner Bogie Leigh Queensland Futurity Final as one of the clear favourites. Stepping out on the Albion Park circuit for the first time last week she blistered around the track in a sizzling 29.73 from box 2. The final is race 6 tonight and she moves to box 7 however with the benefit of her first start at the venue and her brilliant early speed she can easily cross and be very hard to beat. Good luck once again to the croweaters!

GRSA SKY WEEKLY SCHEDULE TO CHANGE FROM 1ST DECEMBER 2021
From the start of this month (December), the Sky weekly schedule of greyhound racing in South Australia has changed. The first two Sundays of any month will routinely be scheduled at Murray Bridge with the remaining Sundays being allocated to Gawler. The primary reason for the change is about providing both of those Clubs with an accessible weekly timeslot which helps them to cultivate a strong base of local patronage.
In regard to trialling at these Clubs, when we race at Gawler on the Friday they will trial on the Thursday before. When we race at Gawler on the Sunday they will trial on the Friday before. Murray Bridge trialling dates will remain unchanged.
KURT DONSBERG CHANGE OF ATTENDANCE DUE TO RACE SCHEDULE
With the change in the race schedule from December our Oncourse Photographer, Kurt Donsberg will restrict his attendance at the Murray Bridge Straight Track on Tuesdays to only when there are Feature Heats and Finals conducted and focus on the Friday and Sunday events at Gawler and Murray Bridge.
Those wishing to take a photo when Kurt is not in attendance after the event please liaise with the stewards on the day/night.
