TELLING THE TAIL
By The Shadow

Tonight here at headquarters we have racing over three distances 530m, 595m and 730m the 11-event card looks to be a good betting programme so let’s hope we can back a few winners. As always, all races are Trifecta and First Four events.

Race 1 - We kick start the night with a distance affair and its hard to go past Lashes Monelli here, she has been in terrific form since transferring to SA and looks very hard to beat again. New Year Tears and Aston Kipchoge for the Trifecta. Box Up 1.4.6.8

Race 2 - This is a Maiden affair and with only the four runners, Express Speed looks very hard to beat from box 1, he has early speed so we will put him on top. Suhana has been around the mark and is the big danger, add Ritza Apache for the TRI. 1.6.4.8 for a $1

Race 3 - The 2nd of the Maidens and we will go with Buzz Along out in box 7, she was running on strongly here last week from this draw and is knocking on the door. Sweet Panama is making his debut so we must keep him safe. Express Black looks amongst the better chances for the Trifecta. Box up 1.2.5.7

Race 4 - The Harris team have been going well of late and they have a big chance here with Don’t Tell Lies, she goes well here and can nearly lead. Lady luck is an interesting runner she has been winning over the short and is unbeaten at her three runs. Springvale Rex can run a cheeky race from the good draw. Box Up 1.2.4.7

Race 5 - Born a Star won her Maiden here two starts back in good fashion, she is well drawn here and looks the likely leader. Weblec Star is making her debut here tonight and should find this a lot easier than her past couple back in Victoria she is the danger. Psychotic Babe has been in the money in 5 of her 7 runs this track and is a must for the Trifecta. Box Up 1.2.4.7

Race 6 - Victa Kurt looked the winner last run only to be nabbed on the line he can bounce back here tonight if he can lead. Dashing Jinx is a run on type who goes well from inside draws. Hot Rocks has been struggling of late and is more than capable of pinching this with early luck. Box Up 2.3.5.7

Race 7 - This is a wide-open affair that has a heap of pace in it, we will stick with Lana Road and Quinnish both are well drawn and they can battle it out. Love And Rain can be tardy early and will be doing her best late, add Springvale Shine for the First Four. Box Up 2.3.4.5

Race 8 - I like one here at Each Way odds in Aston Gypsy, she has been struggling from wide draws in recent runs, tonight she has the perfect box and is the improver. Power Burner is a strong type and is another who is well boxed. Add Weblec Pearl and Rockstar Ruby who can show up. Box Up 1.3.4.5

Race 9 - The Greg Board kennel rarely leave a track without a winner and they have a big chance with Spring Burner who was a last start winner here in handy time he has been in the money at his last 4 here and Gawler. Hot Spartan is drawn to run a big race as can Forsaken. Box Up 1.2.5.8

Race 10 - Weblec Whirl has finally drawn a decent box here tonight, she has the early pace to kick up from the rails draw and looks one of the better chances. Sutton Daisy has good box speed she has been in terrific form winning three of her last five and is the main danger. Aston Antoine looks one for the trifecta punter. Box Up 1.2.4.7

Race 11 - We go home with a 595m event and the Ken Gill trained Rugged And Ready should be well suited by the small field and ping to lead and win. Cawbourne Hope has good box speed and is the danger. Forte Nero loves this track and distance and is more than capable if close enough early. Box Up 1.2.4.6

GRSA SKY WEEKLY SCHEDULE TO CHANGE FROM 1st DECEMBER 2021

From the start of December, the Sky weekly schedule of greyhound racing in South Australia will change. The first two Sundays of any month will routinely be scheduled at Murray Bridge with the remaining Sundays being allocated to Gawler. The primary reason for the change is about providing both of those Clubs with an accessible weekly timeslot which helps them to cultivate a strong base of local patronage.

GRSA explored the opportunity that exists to secure a permanent Friday night timeslot on Sky but those plans were curtailed by the existing congestion of meetings in that spot. The model of ‘shared Sundays’ represented the next best solution for a strategy based on community engagement.

The Murray Bridge region is synonymous with racing, and has been the site of the two most significant infrastructure projects undertaken by SA’s thoroughbred and greyhound codes in the past two decades. GRSA expects trainer numbers to continue to grow in the region well into the future, and increasingly so as the traditional (greyhound) training regions to the north of Adelaide experience heightened levels of development. The strategy, as it relates to Murray Bridge, is also partly founded on the fact that the Rural City of Murray Bridge Council is such a proud supporter of local racing opportunities.

The schedule will transition from 1st December 2021, which will allow crowds over the December and Christmas period to enjoy prime-time racing opportunities at each of Gawler, Murray Bridge and Angle Park.
