Angle Park Preview - 20th January 2022
By The Shadow
Tonight’s highlight is the running of the John Gray Final, race 8 on the program with $10,000 to the winner, this has turned into a terrific final with the favorite drawing out wide and all 8 runners certainly have a chance. We have been in good form of late with our selections so we should have a good kitty for tonight.
Race 1 - We kick start the night with a distance affair and its very hard to go past Frankie Boy, he has been in outstanding form winning 7 of his 9 starts and is drawn to win again. Sebon Panther is amongst the chances as is New Year Tears who has early pace. 1 from 2.6.8 boxed.
Race 2 - Tough race this one with several chances, Little Purpose has shown pace in the past and from the draw can give this a shake. Show Me Bucks along with Express Black are the improvers, add Researched who is better than her last start suggests. Box up 1.2.4.8
Race 3 - Johnny Disco is an interesting runner here, he has won his two starts at Murray Bridge since transferring to SA and is in the powerful Rasmussen kennel, he has the good draw and must be kept safe. Aston Resort is racing well and is amongst the chances. Lektra Moon along with Dashing Wilma are chances. Box up 1.2.4.7
Race 4 - This is over the 595m and I have selected Departure Gate who has been placed in 3 of his 4 starts here, his Mount Gambier form is handy and he gets his chance here tonight. Sell More Houses along with Locked can figure in the trifecta. Box Up 2.4.6.8
Race 5 - If you are going to have a First Four tonight this is the race to do it, Sutton Sandy if able to lead will be very hard to beat at handy odds but she can be hit and miss. Agent Swan is drawn to kick up and run another bold race, add Weblec Peal at odds and the pacey Adele’s Entity. Box Up 2.4.5.7
Race 6 - Sentinel McLaren has been knocking on the door, he has been runner up here at his past two but his box manner can be the worry. Springvale Max has pace, he has been racing well and is right in this again. Spring Flora has been racing well at the Bridge and is a chance. Box Up 1.3.4.7
Race 7 - Springvale Shine has been racing well, she can be a moody type but is one of the better chances in this. Ned’s Chance is our value runner his form is good and with luck early will take beating. Threaten is in form and is amongst the main chances. Box Up 3.4.6.8
Race 8 - This is the Final of the John Gray and as mentioned earlier it carries $10,000 to the winner, Sunset Toxic has been in outstanding form his past two wins have been in quick times and look very hard to beat again despite the wide draw. Weblec Blade was a good winner here last week and has the nice draw, he is more than capable of pinching this. Springvale Maddi is more than a chance of returning to her best form. Box Up 1.2.6.8
Race 9 - The Victa runners in recent months are great to watch and Victa Haydn here is drawn to win, he is an outstanding sprinter who flew late here last week to run 2nd in the Sprint final. Victa Grosso, his litter mate is the danger, he has been in the money here in 9 of his 11 runs and can run quick times. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 10 - This is a wide open affair and I have gone with Rugged And Ready, he has ability but can prove very costly when he misses the kick. Fun Day Friday is well boxed and won here 3 starts back from a rails draw he is amongst the chances. Lana Roads has pace and is a chance of leading. Box Up 1.4.7.8
Race 11 - Kingsville Flyer has been in good form, he made good late ground after missing the start here last week but can bounce back in this. Midnight Blast along with Wizardry Things both will be running on and look a trifecta hope. Box Up 2.4.7.8
Race 12 - Victa Mikey can send us home on a winning note, he is back in grade here and from the draw should have the pace to hold the early lead. Occipital Eyes has been on the improve and the small field will enhance his chances. Box Up 12.4.5.8

The paperwork has been sent out so you should be receiving them in the post.
PRIZEMONEY PAID OUT NEXT THURSDAY DUE TO PUBLIC HOLIDAY
GRSA advises that prizemoney is unable to be paid this Wednesday because of the Public Holiday (as the bank will not process files on this day).

NOTICE TO INDUSTRY – GRSA ADMIN AND GAP
From a few weeks ago the reception function for GRSA and GAP will be undertaken remotely.
We anticipate that this will not substantially impact our ability to receive calls and convey messages, but will obviously remove the physical presence of receptionists at Angle Park. We encourage people to limit their contact with GRSA or GAP to phone or email in the short term as we continue to monitor the unfolding situation. During this period, please contact GAP on 0437 527 633 and GRSA Admin on 8243 7100 between the normal office hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Additionally, the hardcopy production and distribution of form guides for GRSA meetings will be temporarily suspended, albeit that all of our standard form guide information will remain readily available online.
MT GAMBIER - AUST DAY TRIALS CANCELLED
Participants in the south-east should note that the Mt Gambier GRC will not be conducting trials on Wednesday 26th January, due to Australia Day public holiday. The Club apologises for any inconvenience.
MURRAY BRIDGE TRIALS CANCELLED AUSTRALIA DAY DUE TO SPEEDWAY
The trials at Murray Bridge on Wednesday night 26th January will be cancelled due to the speedway commencing at 5pm on this night.
GRSA and the club make every effort to avoid racing and trialing when the speedway is programmed in the best interest of the greyhounds and participants.
GRSA SKY WEEKLY SCHEDULE TO CHANGE FROM 1ST DECEMBER 2021
From the start of this month (December), the Sky weekly schedule of greyhound racing in South Australia has changed.
The first two Sundays of any month will routinely be scheduled at Murray Bridge with the remaining Sundays being allocated to Gawler. The primary reason for the change is about providing both of those Clubs with an accessible weekly timeslot which helps them to cultivate a strong base of local patronage.
In regard to trialling at these Clubs, when we race at Gawler on the Friday they will trial on the Thursday before. When we race at Gawler on the Sunday they will trial on the Friday before. Murray Bridge trialling dates will remain unchanged.
