TELLING THE TAIL
By The Shadow

We have a strong 11 event programme here at headquarters tonight and lets hope we can continue on our winning way. As always all races are Trifecta and First Four events so we will look for a bit of value.

Race 1 - The night kicks off with a distance affair and Lashes Monelli has been in terrific form since arriving here in SA, she has won her last three here including the Premiers Cup here last week and looks far to strong again. Aston Kipchoge will be running on as will Zipping Nebraska who was a handy 3rd here 1st up. 3 from 1.5.7

Race 2 - High Octane was backed off the map on debut and finished 2nd here last week behind Born A Star, he obviously has shown something on the trial track so we will put him on top. Crying has been in the money in 3 of her 5 career starts and is amongst the better chances. Add Express Speed for value. Box Up 1.5.7.8

Race 3 - The Gavin Harris youngster Springvale Rex is well drawn here tonight, he can be hit and miss on lid rise but the draw helps his chances. Spring Illusion will be running on strongly and we can’t leave out Frankie Boy who was a smart winner here in 30.58 winning by 6L. Box Up 1.2.6.8

Race 4 - This is a wide-open affair but we will go with Golden Night who broke through for a much-deserved win here last Friday and could make it back-to-back. Kennel mate Impress Patch can pinch a place along with Queen Redeem. Box Up 1.4.5.7

Race 5 - This is over the 595m and we will go with Cawbourne Hope down in box 1, she has a good turn of early pace and looks a chance of leading. Rugged And Ready has been placed in three of his last four and is a must for the trifecta. Defy is strong and is amongst the better hopes. Box Up 1.2.6.7

Race 6 - There is a lot of pace here so we will go with Lana Roads who normally pings the lids and from box 1 hopefully holds the lead Victa Saige is another who has early pace and is very strong in the run home Tanner Max and Springvale Shine for the First Four. Box Up 1.3.4.7

Race 7 - The Rasmussen kennel can have a handy night and they have another big chance here with Victa Kurt, he has been placed here in 3 of 6 and only needs an ounce of luck early to be hard to beat. Highly Praised is well boxed and is capable of surprising as is Luxury Rocks who has handy Gawler form. Box Up 1.2.6.7

Race 8 - This looks a good First Four event to have a crack at, Basman has won his past two at Murray Bridge and Gawler over the short, he can nearly pinch this with luck. Victa Maggie is my pick she is very strong and is another who is in the Rasmussen team. Arby’s Roger won from this draw 3 starts back and can run into the places. Box Up 2.3.4.8

Race 9 - Woodside Zulu was an eye catching run here when 2nd behind Adele’s Entity in 30.34, he can be tardy away and likes to use plenty of the track, we will put him on top at each way odds. Power Burner has been racing well with 2 wins from his past 3 and is another who is strong. Weblec Whirl is a chance at value. Box Up 2.4.7.8

Race 10 - Occipital Eyes has very good Gawler form and if he can bring that to town he will be very hard to beat. Spring Burner has been placed at his past 3 and from the draw is a major player. Aston Gypsy is in the Matt Payne kennel who is having a very good run at the moment. Box Up 1.4.5.8

Race 11- Its always good to go home on a winner and we can do that with Sudden Force for the Lauren Harris kennel, he has been placed here in 3 of 5 and gets a chance to lead here. See You Smile is well drawn and will be running on as will Miss Takiri. Box Up 1.2.4.6
