Angle Park Preview - 12th December 2019
by The Shadow
Here at headquarters tonight there looks to be a couple of good things on the programme, we need to starting building the bank quickly and we can do that with the Trifectas and First Fours which are on all races. The kennel to follow is the Rasmussen team as they have strong representation throughout the night.
Race 1 - We kick off with a strong 600m event and the form runner is Aston Chandon, she has won her past 4 here in good fashion and appears the one to beat again. The dangers look to be Two Times Twice who won over the sprint last start in good fashion and Matty Mateusz who is very strong. Box Up 1.4.5.8
Race 2 - The Maiden and the Rasmussen kennel can nearly run the Quinella with Hot Sophie and Right Exit which both all have ability and are chances to Springvale Vixen who will be running on late. Box Up 1.2.4.8
Race 3 - No Knowledge will find this a lot easier than his last start when 6th behind Kisses For Chloe where he stumbled on box rise, he is back in grade and is our top pick. Mombasa Ben has handy short course form and is well drawn, add Hot Sambuca for the Trifecta. Box Up 1.4.5.8
Race 4 - Alfieri blew the start here last week in the Doug Payne final when a very short price favourite, he is all class when on song and he can bounce back into the winners circle tonight. Fantastic Yankee will be right in the mix as he has a good turn of early pace and is racing very well, Box Up 1.4.5.8
Race 5 - The Rasmussen kennel has a big chance with No Passengers in this, he has been well travelled of late and was a last start winner at the Bridge in quick time. Surfing Dyno was our value bet here last week and he saluted at each way odds for us, he can run into the placings ounce again. Blastoise could surprise but needs to improve his box manners. Box Up 2.3.4.8
Race 6 - Lenny The Jet is one of our better bets of the night, he has found one better at his past two runs, he should lead here and prove far too strong. Chaddy Whacker continues to pinch a place at odds and can do the same again from a handy draw. Come On Enzo will be rattling home late. Box Up 1.3.6.7
Race 7 - This is a wide open affair and we will go with Tony’s Spark out in box 6, he has been racing well at Murray Bridge and was only beaten here just under 2 Lengths last start and the wide draw suits. Hot Zorro has been consistent here in recent runs and is the danger. Box Up 1.4.5.6
Race 8 - Axel Footluce returned to the winner’s circle here last week in good fashion carving out a slick 29.61, he gets his chance again and is hard to tip against. Miss Takiri along with Bailey Rocks both have their share of ability and can’t be overlooked. Box Up 2.5.6.7.
Race 9 - This is a more than handy event and the well-drawn Hot Desert Storm can finally breakthrough in this, she has been racing well in tougher company and hopefully collects the bickies tonight. Danyo’s Charlie has very good short course form and could surprise ant his city debut, add Herculean who will be doing his best work late. Box Up 2.4.7.8
Race 10 - Allinga Jess gets her chance to break through after being in the places at her last 5 runs, she has the pace to lead the inside brigade and looks very hard to beat. Diamond Lee is the next best chance. Box Up 2.4.5.7
Race 11 - This is the 731m of the night and the well credentialed Cawbourne Terry can set the early pace and hopefully pinch this, he was a winner here over the 600m two runs back in quick time then ventured to Sandown and was unplaced, he is out top pick. My Boy Bean will be powering home and is the form runner winning his past 2 over this trip. Box Up 1.2.4.6
Race 12 - Its certainly a toughie to go home on and the 2 main chances look to be the newcomer Could Be Magic for the Murray kennel and Patrick Frances in the Rasmussen team, both have ability and should be in the finish. Weblec Arrow is capable of pinching a place. Box Up 2.4.5.8

MOUNT GAMBIER SATISFACTORY TRIALS
Trainers are advised of a change to the booking of Satisfactory Trials at Mt. Gambier. Mt Gambier hold trials on Tuesday and Saturday mornings with Satisfactory trials ONLY being conducted on Tuesdays and need to be booked with Barry Shepheard from the Club on 0419 824 512.
At Race meetings Satisfactory trials can be done when less than 12 races. When there are 12 races these can be considered, however, the trainer will not be able to kennel and must take their greyhounds home straight after the trial. These race day trials will also need to be booked through Barry at the Club. GRSA administration staff will NOT accept these bookings and trainers will be directed to contact Barry Shepheard.
CHANGES TO MOUNT GAMBIER TIME GRADING FROM JANUARY 2020
After consultation with industry and local participants from the Mt Gambier region GRSA will trial a Best to Worst format for the Mt Gambier Thursday meetings in January 2020. With 5 meetings in that month the normal Worst to Best meetings will be on 2nd, 16th and 30th January.
The Best to Worst format will be on 9th and 23rd January. GRSA has made this change to accommodate the strong support or nominations for this venue and attempting to give all greyhounds of all abilities the opportunity to compete.
Conditions for the Best to Worst meetings will be based on the greyhounds Time Rating. There will be a limit of 5 as to how fast a greyhound can be rated. Greyhounds rated 4.75 to 1 will not be eligible for this meeting but will be given preference into the Sunday meeting of that week so long as they nominate and there is a race available. Under this format GRSA will be able to include reserves for all races under the dissection of the grader. The more than 50% of fastest rated greyhound eligibility clause will not refer to Best to Worst Time Graded events.
Please contact the GRSA Grader for further information about Time Graded events.
