VACCINATION RULE FOR RACING IN SA
Trainers are reminded that Rule 25 (Minimum Vaccination Requirements) took effect Monday, 1st May, Vaccination Certificates must be received by GRSA prior to close of nominations for affected greyhounds to be considered eligible,

GAWLER TOMORROW MOVED TO MORNING DUE TO HEAT
Please note due to hot weather now forecast in the Gawler region tomorrow (Friday 8th December) our day meeting will now be conducted as a morning meeting. The first race will be at 9.05am and the last of 10 races at 11.53am. Kenneling will now be 8.00am to 8.45am. GRSA appreciates Sky Racing making this change to accommodate our hot weather policy.

GOTBA COURSING AWARDS NIGHT TONIGHT
GOTBA will have their Annual Awards at Angle Park tonight and announce the SA Coursing Trainer of the Year and SA Coursing Greyhound of the Year. This will be presented at the dais after the running of Race 5. Race 5 at 7.58pm will also see the GOTBA Free For All event which was for greyhounds which competed at Virginia during 2023. 

FISCHER MOTORS MURRAY BRIDGE SUMMER DERBY AND OAKS FINALS THIS SUNDAY
After two Heats of the 2023 Fischer Motors Murray Bridge Country Summer Oaks over the 455m and two heats of the 2023 Fischer Motors Murray Bridge Country Summer Derby also over the 455m were conducted last Sunday, this Sunday’s meeting looks to be a fantastic night of racing.

Greyhound Racing SA and the Murray Bridge GRC thank the new sponsorship of Fischer Motors in sponsoring the Country Summer Oaks and Derby this year. 
Also on the program will be the $4,000 Murray Bridge Anniversary Cup run over the 530m which is Race 4 on the program due to start at 6.17pm. It is a Free For All event and Non Penalty and features a quality line up of sprinters. GRSA made the decision to run this event with only 4 acceptors in support of the participants and club for this event.

FESTIVAL OF FIRE TO HEAT UP ANGLE PARK THIS MONTH – NOMINATIONS FOR THURSDAY HEATS CLOSE ON MONDAY 
GRSA will continue to support local participants this month when the Festival of Fire series of races are conducted. GRSA is thrilled to conduct for the third year, the Festival of Fire series, our newest and most exciting fortnight on the South Australian greyhound racing calendar. 
The “Festival Of Fire, series will provide opportunities for the best 48 nominations for the 530m trip, the best 16 nominations over 595m, and the best 8 nominations for a 730m event. There will be heats and final of a restricted event (0-5 wins), running from Saturday morning to Thursday night which will provide a separate opportunity for that category of runner. Again this year there will be a 530m Time Graded event for those greyhounds that rate towards the end of the Time Grading table.
The Festival of Fire is an end of year celebration for the local industry, which provides fantastic opportunities across the entire spectrum of racing classes, across all three distances at Angle Park, the home of SA greyhound racing.

The Festival of Fire series will commence on the racenight of Thursday December 14, continue into the Saturday morning timeslot (December 16) and then culminate in 5 finals and a special stayers event carrying a collective purse in excess of $100,000 the following Thursday night (December 21). 
Conditions – 
• Greyhounds must be SA trained. 
• Greyhounds must be in South Australia as of midnight 1st November 2023 to be eligible (greyhounds that have not had their first training amendment lodged that are in SA at this time will be eligible). For those greyhounds that have left the state prior to this date however are considered SA based on the Nationals criteria of 76 days out of 150 days prior to close of nominations for each event will be eligible.
• All races will be Non Penalty

THE FLAME (530M) – Lowest Ranked 32 Nominated On Time Rating – With Reserves - Maidens Are Ineligible – Maximum Four Heats Guarding Applies. Selection Of Heats Will Be Guarded And Separated Under Normal Heat And Final Rules. If Same Time Rating Greyhounds With The Least Race Wins Go In Then The Least Amount Of Prizemoney Go In And Then By Graders Discretion. Greyhounds Must Have Had Atleast One Race Start Over 455m Or Further In The Last 3 Months Prior To Close Of Nominations To Be Eligible.

*Reserves may be the same for Inferno and Flame, preference if a scratching will be given to Inferno series. The Grader reserves the right to formulate the Reserves as required with the view to providing opportunities for all greyhounds where possible.
THE BONFIRE (595M) – Best 16 Nominated – Selected By The GRSA Grader – With Reserves – Maidens Ineligible – Maximum Of Two Heats – Guarding Applies For Heats 
Heats Thursday 14th December (Open City A Prizemoney) – Final Thursday 21st December (1st $15,000, 2nd 4,400, 3rd 2,200) 
Remaining events determined by nominations received for other events. 
*If All Heats Are Taken Then GRSA Will Allow Any 730m Greyhound Nominated For This Night To Solo Trial In Preparation For The Blaze On Thursday 21st December however GRSA will also program a Stayers event at Angle Park on Saturday.

GRSA reserves the right to vary conditions of heats as required based on nominations.

TRIAL BOOKER TO INCORPORATE GAWLER THURSDAY TRIALS – STARTED TODAY 
Gawler online nominations for Thursdays started this week with the trial session this morning. Please be mindful that Bookings will close 3pm the day prior (Wednesday) with GRSA administration staff overseeing the bookings as normal. 

GRSA has increased the number of bookings for each Gawler session from 4 to 6 trials per trainer. This is to assist trainers with your greyhounds which trial one after another. 

Shortly we will turn our attention to the Monday trial session which will require our race day and offsite staff to manage. 

2024 GAWLER PRODUCE STAKES - NOMINATIONS CLOSE TOMORROW (FRIDAY 8TH DECEMBER)
Participants are advised that the nominations for the 2024 Gawler Produce were extended until tomorrow (Friday, 8th December).  This series is open to all greyhounds whelped in 2022, irrespective of where they were bred or owned. Please contact GRSA should you require any further information regarding this series.
To clarify the racing dates for the 2024 series is - 

HEATS     @ $2,200        Friday  07.06.24
SEMI-FINALS @ $3,000            Sunday  16.06.24
FINAL @ $22,000                      Sunday    23.06.24

CLASSIC AND BREEDERS FUTURITY PAYMENTS 
Owners of SA Bred greyhounds are advised that the next batch of Futurity payments are due on Friday, 15th December 2023. 
The payments due are: 
Breeders 2024 – Final Payment (Pups born January 22 to June 22) 
This payment is for greyhounds for which the First and Second Sustaining Payments were made. The Final Payment is $121 per greyhound. 
Classic 2024 – Second Payment (Pups born July 22 to December 22) 
This payment is for greyhounds for which the First Sustaining Payment was made last June. The Second Sustaining Payment is $55 per pup or a Final Payment of $121 can be made at this stage. 
Breeders 2025 – First Payment (Pups born January 23 to June 23) 
This First Payment is due for Breeders 2025. All SA Bred greyhounds born in the above period are eligible to make this payment. The First Payment is $27.50 per pup or a “one-off” Final Payment of $121 can be made at this stage. 
To assist all owners of Futurity eligible pups, reminders were sent out earlier this week. It is perhaps a good idea to make the payment as soon as you can, so it does not slip your mind and the closing date passes. If you have sold a pup/s we would ask if you can forward on the information to the new owner. If you have not received a reminder within the next week and you think you should have, contact Caralyn Fielden as soon as possible.


HEATS CHRISTMAS CUP/BORDER CHALLENGE (MOUNT GAMBIER V WARRNAMBOOL) ON SUNDAY
This year due to programming of feature events the Mount Gambier Greyhound Racing Club will use the Williams Crane Hire Christmas Cup series run this Sunday to select the representatives for the Border Challenge (Mt Gambier V Warrnambool). 
There are two Heats of the Christmas Cup worth $2,500 on Sunday and the $4,500 Final on Sunday, 17th December.
Within the Christmas Cup series and subject to the Border Challenge criteria, the first four past the post in the Christmas Cup Final on December 17 will also be Mount Gambier’s first choices to represent the Club in the Warrnambool V Mount Gambier Border Challenge at Warrnambool on Thursday, December 21 worth $5,800. If any of the first four past the post are not eligible the next placings will be considered and then an invitation from the Club to ensure there are four representatives.
BORDER CHALLENGE CONDITIONS FOR MOUNT GAMBIER: 
Trainer must have had starters at 15 Mount Gambier meetings in the past 12 months. Trainer must have trained the greyhound nominated for the previous three months. Greyhound must have started at least four times in the past 12 months at Tara Raceway. Warrnambool V Mount Gambier (Warrnambool 450m, Thursday, December 21).

ANGLE PARK TRIALS ON SUNDAY 10TH DECEMBER
Again we have swapped our Saturday with Queensland to the following week to accommodate the Festival Of Fire series. The trials will remain at Angle Park on Sunday, 10th December due to rostering availability even though we will not race on the Saturday morning. 

NO TRIALS ON BOXING DAY AT ANGLE PARK ON TUESDAY NIGHT
This year Xmas day falls on Monday 25th December with Tuesday 26th December being Boxing Day. There will be no trials on Xmas Day and due to critical staff being unavailable on the Tuesday there will be NO trials at Angle Park on Tuesday night.

GAWLER CHRSTMAS MEETING – SUNDAY 17TH DECEMBER
Gawler will run their Christmas Fun night on Sunday 17th December, on the night the club will add a $500 a member bonus to a 531m race graded on the program (to be determined by nominations as to what event). This would be a $500 bonus for the winner if they are a member of Gawler.
