Angle Park Preview - April 7th 2022
We have a great night of racing ahead of us with a strong 12 event program tonight at headquarters, we have been picking a few winners and there is no reason we can’t do the same again tonight. As always all races are Trifecta and First Four events.
Race 1 - We kick off with a wide open affair, I will stick with Plausible Dream who looked the winner but went down by a nose here last start, he hopefully can break through for us tonight. Curious Nick was a last start winner here from box 2 in 31.10 he is the danger again. Box Up 1.2.5.7
Race 2 - Interesting race here, Lashes Monelli resumed from a long spell and finished 4th here Monday night, she is a class act when on song and looks the big improver. Sutton Sandy has a good turn of early pace, she is drawn to kick up and run a bold race. The one to keep your eye on is Mallee Magic, he has a terrific record over the 595M with 3 wins from his 5 runs and can run time. Box Up 1.3.5.7
Race 3 - Sebon Panther won here Monday when leading throughout over the 730M, she drops back in distance here and will be very hard to beat again. Victa Reid will be right in the mix as will Weblec Star who loves this trip. Box Up 1.2.6.8
Race 4 - How good is this event as four of the five runners are big chances, I will go with the well-drawn Fantastic Victor who proved to strong here last week when winning in 30.22, he can hold the early lead from the good draw and win. Jack’s Well has returned to his best form with 3 smart wins from his last four, he is a class act on song. Add Victa Grosso who has been beating the best in the state. Box up 1.2.6.8
Race 5 - Rosie Red has a good turn of early pace, she was run down late last run when a very short price favorite and should strip fitter here tonight. Under Study will be rattling home as will Helmet Giblet who can be hit and miss early. Box up 4.5.7.8
Race 6 - We have two scratching’s in this so we will stick with She’s Fired Up from box 1, she has been mixing her form but does go well from this draw. Agent Hamish has been racing well over the short he looks the improver in the small field. Box Up 1.2.5.8
Race 7 - How good has been He’s All Purpose been in recent runs, he has a good turn of early pace and only needs to cross to take beating again. Queen Of Fire is drawn to have a big say down on the fence, she was a last start winner here and must be respected. Demolition is on debut the EX Victorian has a good track record and must be kept safe. Box Up 1.4.6.8
Race 8 - Don’t Tell Bluey was very impressive when winning here in 30.34 here last week, he has a good turn of early pace and will be very hard to beat on that run. Danyo’s Charlie is drawn to go very close he has been racing well and has good box speed. Spring Vinnie and Bruce Mick Glenn for the First Four. Box Up 1.3.6.7
Race 9 - This is over the 730M and with only the four runners, Dashing Wilma looks hard to beat she has been mixing her form of late and the small field will help her big time. New Year Tears has the pace to go to the front early he has been in good form and should give this a big shake. Mr. Ibrox will be running on. 3.5.7.1 for $1 in order.
Race 10 - Mallee Dreamer was a last start winner at Gawler in handy time last run, she is well boxed here tonight she looks a big chance of leading from the good draw and can go close. Researched will be running on as will Air Outlaw who is in good form. Box Up 1.2.4.5
Race 11 - Ray Murray looks to have a handy one here in Air Pumbaa, he has won his past two at Gawler both in handy times he should be able to possie up early and prove to strong. Gemtree Apollo and Harboring are chances. Box up 1.2.5.7
Race 12 – This is a toughie to go home on, the Ben Rawlings team have a handy type in Impeached, he has won his last three at Murray Bridge all in good fashion he comes to town tonight and will be hard to toss. Midoriyama just needs to improve his box manners to have a big say in this. Box Up 1.2.5.7

This will allow the maintenance team sufficient time to return the track to a somewhat normal state for trials, however it is expected that times are still likely to be slower than normal. GRSA apologies for any inconvenience caused by these changes.

BREEDERS 2022 PRELUDE (2) HEATS MOVED BACK 1 WEEK TO AVOID GAWLER FUTURE STARS
GRSA advise that the Breeders 2022 Prelude (2) heats at Angle Park that were programmed on Monday 18th April have been rescheduled and will be run on Monday 25th April with the final on Monday 2nd May. This will now avoid the Gawler Future Stars series where the final is scheduled to be run on Sunday 17th April. As both series draw from the exact same pool of SA Bred greyhounds the change gives the opportunity for trainers to nominate and the Clubs to run both events.
With the change this will still give greyhounds that qualify for the Breeders 2022 Prelude (2) final on 2nd May, 10 days until the Group 3 Howard Ashton Heats on Thursday 12th May.

ANGLE PARK’S 50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND $5OK TO THE WINNER ON FRIDAY 29TH APRIL
After consultation with Greyhound Racing Victoria, Greyhound Racing SA is very appreciative that they have swapped their Friday night meeting on April 29th with Angle Park’s Thursday night meeting on April 28th. This will mean that Angle Park can celebrate our 50th Anniversary with a big night planned on a Friday night along with increased prizemoney of $50,000 to the winner for the Anniversary Cup Final on the night.
The night itself will be very much like an Adelaide Cup atmosphere with plenty of entertainment for families as we celebrate 50 years at Angle Park. The feature Anniversary Cup Final, offering $50k to the winner will be sure to provide a high quality line up of sprinters, locally and interstate, with Heats for this event on Thursday, 22nd April. Coinciding with the Anniversary Cup Final is the SA Distance Championship Final worth $10k to the winner with Heats also run on Thursday, 22nd April.
