Angle Park Preview - 9th June 2022

Racing News

We have been having a couple of good weeks on the punt so lets hope we can keep it up again here tonight on a strong 12 event program here at headquarters. As always all races are Trifecta and First Four events.

Race 1 - I think we can start the night with a winner with Wizardry Things down in box 1 for Troy Murray, he has been racing well, being runner up here at his past couple he looks the one to beat on form. Charlee’s Misty can be hit and miss on lid rise at times she will be the danger. Add Sutton Daisy who has a good strike rate at this venue. Box Up 1.2.5.8

Race 2 - This the 1st of two Maidens and My Mate Snow was well supported at his 1st start when unplaced from box 8, he is well drawn here and looks amongst the main chances. Nitro High is on debut and is in the powerful Rasmussen kennel, he must be respected. Sutton Ebony and She’s Blushing for the First Four. Box Up 1.2.4.8

Race 3 - The 2nd of the Maidens and Agent Nineteen found a heap of trouble at his 1st run from box 8, he is closer to the rails here and is a chance of winning with moderate beginners on his inside. Watch On is a tardy beginner, he is drawn to improve and is knocking on the door. Fabrizio has been racing at Gawler over the short and could show up. Box Up 1.2.4.6

Race 4 - We are over the 595M here and we will stick with Spring Harbour who gets his chance in an open affair, he has been in the money in four of his last five and the small field will help. Danyo’s Mercy along with George The First are one for the trifecta punters. Ox Up 1.4.6.8

Race 5 - There is a bit of pace in this and Spring Mayfield has been racing well at Gawler over the 531M and is amongst the main chances. Aces Are Trumps and Victa Kurt can show early pace and are drawn to have every chance. Zinfandel Oompa will take beating is she shows her early pace and could pinch this. Box Up 1.2.4.7

Race 6 - Woodside Brockie is my top pick here as he was a last start winner here in 30.75 when leading throughout, he is drawn to kick up early again and will be hard to beat. The big danger is On The Tequila who will be running on strongly she only needs to be handy early to show up. Box up 1.2.5.8

Race 7 - Zinfandel Bart can bounce back in this he has four wins and a placing from his 8 starts here the draw will help and is amongst the better chances. Mo Slater along with Sambuca Talks can show pace at times and could show up > Box Up 1.2.5.7

Race 8 - This is a very good race and the pacey Don’t Tell Bluey has won four of his last five here and with his early pace looks very hard to beat again. Jack’s Well returned to form with a slick win here in a BON 30.29 winning by over 6L his box manners are our biggest worry but if he is close early will take beating again. Express Speed and Lucius Malfoy are chances for the First Four. Box Up 2.3.5.6

Race 9 - With the small field over the Distance here Victa Haydn gets his chance to break back into the winners circle he has been in the money at his last five here over this trip and looks very hard to beat. Lashes Monelli has been racing well on Monday nights she is the danger. Dashing Wilma for 3rd. 1.7.3.5 for a $1

Race 10 - This is certainly a wide open affair and Doctor Jason won his Maiden four runs back from box 1 and hasn’t had a huge amount of luck since this looks a winnable race for him here. Fantastic Dixie has only had the two runs since transferring from NSW she is the danger. Nugget McLaren won his Maiden here last week and is a place chance.

Race 11 - I like Midoriyama here he only needs to show a bit more pace early to be on the pace early and he will take beating but the draw is a major worry. Zinfandell Cilla and Panama Dance are in the mix. Box Up 1.4.6.8

Race 12 - Hopefully Shall Not can send us home on a winning note, he can ping straight to the front from box 1 and would be very hard to beat. Mepunga Grace along with Hoogley are strong and are amongst the chances. Box Up 1.4.5.7

OLD BRIDGE CLOSURES AT MURRAY BRIDGE

GRSA have been advised that there are major works now underway to safeguard the future of the Old Murray Bridge. To allow these works to be carried out safely, traffic on the bridge has been reduced to a single lane, operating in one direction at a time with temporary traffic lights at each end.

Temporary bridge closures outside of peak times are required as part of the project.

The next temporary bridge closures are planned to take place from 9:30am to 2:30pm on the following days (weather permitting):

· Tuesday, 21 June, · Tuesday, 5 July.

A detour will be in place via the Swanport Bridge during these closures.

Bridge access will be maintained for pedestrians, cyclists and emergency services during the temporary closure. Existing temporary pedestrian and cyclist restrictions under the bridge will remain in place.

GRSA recommends these trainers engaged at Murray Bridge race meetings or travelling from Murray Bridge towards the city to please plan ahead and allow extra time to get to the relevant race meetings.

CLASSIC AND BREEDERS FUTURITY PAYMENTS – DUE ON FRIDAY 17TH JUNE

Owners of SA Bred greyhounds are reminded that the next batch of Futurity payments are due on Friday, 17th June 2022.

The payments due are:

Classic 2022 – Final Payment (Pups born July 20 to December 20)

This payment is for greyhounds for which the combined First and Second Sustaining Payment was made. The Final Payment is $121 per greyhound.

Breeders 2023 – Second Payment (Pups born January 21 to June 21)

This payment is for greyhounds for which the First Sustaining Payment was made last December. The Second Sustaining Payment is $55 per pup or a Final Payment of $121 can be made at this stage.

Classic 2023 – First Payment (Pups born July 21 to December 21)

This First Payment is due for Classic 2023. All SA Bred greyhounds born in the above period are eligible to make this payment. The First Payment is $27.50 per pup or a “one-off” Final Payment of $121 can be made at this stage.

To assist all owners of Futurity eligible pups, reminders will be sent out over the coming days. It is perhaps a good idea to make the payment as soon as you can, so it does not slip your mind and the closing date passes. If you have sold a pup/s we would ask if you can forward on the information to the new owner. If you have not received a reminder by the end of this month and you think you should have, contact Caralyn Fielden as soon as possible.
