Angle Park Preview - 8th December 2022
TELLING THE TAIL by The Shadow
We had a handy night on the punt here last Thursday so let’s hope we can back it up again tonight here at headquarters with a solid 12 event program, as usual all races are Trifecta and First Four events and we can continue to build the bank for the festive season.
Race 1 - Mallee Magic is the one to beat again tonight, he has been racing well and is drawn for another bold showing over the 595M. The dangers look to be Springvale Rex and Go Forward Bruno. Box Up 1.2.5.8
Race 2 - This is the Maiden of the evening and Rhonda Wine was a handy run here first up when placed from a wide draw, she looks the big improver and will go close. Lost Cause has been placed at his last four and he does like to use plenty of the track and will be running on. Add Up There Rocco for the Trifecta. Box Up 4.5.7.8
Race 3 - Foreshadow looked the winner here last week but come up short when running 2nd, he only needs luck early to win this and he will be running on strongly out wide. Victa Speed is well drawn, he is a chance of leading and is amongst the better chances. Box Up 1.2.3.5
Race 4 - Machismo has been racing well and has won two of his last three, he gets back in the run but musters quickly and is the one they have to beat again. On The Tequila was disappointing here last week but is the improver from the inside draw. Basso’s Girl is a First Four chance. Box Up 2.4.5.8
Race 5 - Springvale Max can bounce back here tonight, he flashed home late last run after missing the kick and only needs to be handy early to figure. Karmen Kristy is the form runner winning her past two here both from box 8, she is the danger again. He’s Our Design goes well from inside draws. Box Up 2.3.4.8
Race 6 - There look to be several chances here and I have gone with the well-drawn Impress Us, he can show early pace and is amongst the better chances. Weblec Flame has been in the money in four of his last five and is well drawn tonight. Molly Irish has early pace and could surprise. Box Up 1.3.4.5
Race 7 - Yarramundi Paul bounced straight to the front here last week and proved to strong again, he should do the same again here and is our selection. Hoogley can show pace at times he is well boxed and is more than capable with a clear run early. Box Up 2.3.5.8
Race 8 - Spring High Low won here two runs back over the 595M in a handy 34.37, she drops back in distance tonight and will be hard to beat from the draw. Clear View has been well travelled of late and has early pace. Slipper’s Tick will be running home late. Box Up 1.2.3.5
Race 9 - Run Like Jess was very impressive here last week when winning by over 10L in a BON 30.43, he should be the one to beat again from his draw on that effort. Dark Compass along with Westar Aileen are chances for the Trifecta. Box Up 1.2.5.8
Race 10 - This is over the distance and Mr. Ibrox will start a short price favorite again, he is in outstanding form and should be far too good again. Chatting is always good for the place as is Orson Emmy. 1 from 2.4.7
Race 11 - This looks a good First Four event, Fantastic Eddy is knocking on the door and has been runner up here at his past two he looks amongst the better chances. Tingling is our value runner he is well drawn and is the improver. Springvale Jess and Springvale Bray for the minors. Box Up 1.3.5.6
Race 12 - Its always good to go home on a winning note and Springvale Dave has handy Gawler form, he goes well here and will go very close. Sayua along with Maestro Luke are well drawn. Box Up 2.3.4.8

FESTIVAL OF FIRE TO HEAT UP ANGLE PARK – NOMINATIONS CLOSE ON MONDAY FOR THURSDAY NIGHT HEATS
GRSA will continue to support local participants in December when the Festival of Fire series of races are conducted. GRSA is thrilled to conduct for the second year, the Festival of Fire series, the newest and most exciting fortnight on the South Australian greyhound racing calendar.
The “Festival Of Fire, series will provide opportunities for the best 48 nominations over the 530m trip, the best 16 nominations over 595m and the best 8 nominations for a 730m event. There will be Heats and a Final of a restricted event (0-5 wins), running from Saturday morning to Thursday night which will provide a separate opportunity for that category of runner. There will be a change in that the second 595m event will be removed and the main 595m event has been increased from the best 12 greyhounds to best 16 greyhounds. Taking the place of the second 595m event will be a 530m Time Graded event for those greyhounds that have the highest time rating.
The Festival of Fire is an end of year celebration for the local industry, which provides fantastic opportunities across the entire spectrum of racing classes, across all three distances at Angle Park, the home of SA greyhound racing.
The Festival of Fire series will commence on the racenight of Thursday, December 15, continue into the Saturday morning timeslot (December 17) and then culminate in 5 Finals and a special stayers event with all Finals carrying a collective purse in excess of $100,000 the following Thursday night (December 22). The Board has resolved that the top-up amounts for this series will sit outside the Wagering Activity Payments (WAP) model. This means that the majority of the stakemoney for the series will be additional to the guaranteed return that has already been committed to industry through the WAP model.
